I was excited to stumble upon this place while walking around London. True, it looks like a pretty…read moretypical chain restaurant but Germany's most popular fast food does not really exist in its most splendid form outside of their country, and certainly not in the USA, so I was willing to try it - I was pleasantly surprised! The ordering system here is slicker than I would expect for such a small chain so I suspect this is some kind of VC-backed operation that is rapidly expanding. It has a touch-screen system ala McDonalds and getting your delicious Doner is painless. The taste was, from my memory, fairly similar to the kebabs and wraps I've had in Klon and Berlin but I'll have to return to confirm. I Tried a chicken and beef classic Doner kebab sandwich and it had a variety of delicious aspects: the beef and chicken were perfect kebab sliced juicy cuts of very thin meat, the vegetables were very fresh, the bread was light and tasty, and the sauces make the whole thing; love both the garlic and yoghourt! Better than expected!

I was beyond excited when I had a few hours to catch my train back to Brussels and found that a chipotle was only a 20 min walk from St. Pancreas. The food was OK so if no receipt is wanted, there wouldn't be a problem.

I have to say there are a lot of positives and a lot of negatives about this fast food place. The fries come from fresh GB potatoes which made a difference in flavour, as did the peanut oil they are fried in. And that can also be a negative as if you are allergic, you can forget ever eating at this place. Also, the seats were narrow, with an addition of basement seating which was not at all comfortable, making this place suitable only for takeout. Indian burritos are like a spinoff of your favourite show. So the next question is this a Star Trek…read moreDS9, or a Star Trek Enterprise kind of deal. Quite happily, I'm proud to say it's the former. Bombay Burrito is pretty close to what you imagine an Indian burrito to be. Curry, chutneys, chickpeas, salad, chilli (proper spicy chilli) and delicious spices. Each day they have rotating specials meaning the menu is small, but there should always be something new or in rotation. The staff, were great. Very friendly, and packed our burritos to the brim. We were here with a groupon, but that didn't matter, I challenged that one of our burritos couldn't be folded, and was absolutely impressed when it turned out I was clearly wrong. Additionally, we were allowed to pick any beer from the selection. I was surprised at the range of quite interesting craft beers I hadn't seen anywhere else. The 8% one was a refreshing surprise and turned me red (asian glow) within 5 minutes. Whilst there we also scavenged some poppadum crisps from a table that hadn't finished and were friendly enough to pass them our way (I say pass, but really I meant: we asked and took :D). The staff noticed and were kind enough to offer us some additional chutneys to use as dip. Now that's lovely human service. So in all, Indian burritos all things being fair, should take off in a big way. I'm not sure if Bombay Burrito is the chain to do it, but I really hope they do. The combination of great food, drink is a hit. It just needs the marketing drive and the hipsters to support it to really take off.

The staff were very friendly & smiley straight away which was nice! I had a medium sized vegetable burrito with both kinds of rice - tomato and coriander & lime (I think) + both kinds of beans - refried and kidney (I think) with cooked peppers. Due to it being the veggie option I got a free dollop of guacamole, and left out the sour cream and cheese (cry) because they're not vegan friendly... I dream of the day burrito places have vegan friendly cheese! I also opted for some chilli and lime cashews which were completely amazing and I now need to get in bulk. I highly recommend trying them!! I've had my first Tortilla-burrito at Yelp event a while back and chatting with the owner, I found out that he's actually from San Francisco - which probably explains why I like their burritos. And since the event, I've kind of made Tortilla my default-Mexican food stop when my craving gets too strong. My tip: when you get a steak or pork burrito - ask them to NOT squeeze out the juice. I find that a juicy (well-lubricated) burrito is much tastier. Also, do invest in extra-guacamole, as this will uplift the flavour tremendously. (They are a little stingy on the guacamole though.)
