First of all, my in-laws were in town and we were headed out for a day of touring the city of Savannah. Before we left, they wanted to get something specifically from seven brew because my stepfather in law is a diabetic and specifically frequent seven brews back in Kansas City because they serve sugar-free drinks. Go figure. For someone who doesn't have to observe that type of dietary restriction, but who does have friends and family who are diabetic, that felt like a fact I needed to know. So I could totally appreciate his need to specifically go here. And so we headed over on a Saturday morning. Now let me tell you, if you are coming to this location during any sort of peak traffic time, I would assume the line is going to be wrapped around the building because this location seemingly does not enjoy any downtime. Both lanes were full all the way through the parking lot and spilling into the CVS parking lot next-door. While we didn't quite realize that you could walk up and order after parking until after we had gotten in line, I would definitely recommend that option for anybody who has the time and the ability to do it. And while the line did move somewhat decently, it still took us about 15 minutes start to finish to get in line, place our order and pick it up and pull out of the parking lot. But that being said, everybody in the car enjoyed their drinks. Which surprisingly, did not feature coffee. Everybody either ordered one of their energy drinks or sugar-free drinks. So there it is. Seven brew is a nice alternative to your local sonic and smoothie king, which are both up the street. If finding alternative coffee drinks at a coffee spot alongside of sugar-free drinks is your thing, I would definitely recommend them!

Lulucakes is small, but you are only picking up your baked goods and leaving. So there is no need for tables. When you walk in you're greeted with 2 display cases. They are generally not completely full. But there is always a good variety. The bakers are kind and friendly. You can order whole cakes, tarts, cheesecakes etc from the bakery. They are all delicious and worth the price! My husband and I have yet to eat a dessert or piece of cake from Lulu's that we have not enjoyed. They also make wedding cakes and cater events. The flavors and varieties that they offer are far and wide. The best way to see them all is to go to their website. But if you just want a quick sugar fix you can walk into the bakery and order right out of the case. Here are a few of my favorites: strawberry suspension cake, lime and coconut tart, and brown butter pecan cookies. All are delicious! They are located in the business center at hodgson memorial and Eisenhower. There is plenty of parking. They keep regular business hours. If you are craving sugar give Lulucakes a try you will not be disappointed!

I couldn't believe the attention to detail and wondered how its creator was able to put that kind of detail on a tiny, bite-sized cake lollipop and make it taste so good too! Was it done by magical cake pop fairies? I wanted to know! My friend gave me their Insta account and after scrolling (and drooling) through their countless creations, my obsession began! After some time, I had heard they were doing a pop-up at Ways Station Coffee Co. in Richmond Hill for the coffee shop's 5th Anniversary Party and Big Bon Pizza was going to be there too. With my family in tow, we headed to the event excited to try coffee, pizza and cake pops! I mean, that sounds like a perfect meal, right?! I was SO excited! Well, we arrived about an hour after the event started and SWS had SOLD OUT! I mean, was I surprised? No. Was I disappointed? Uh, heck yeah! When was I going to eat these delicious little pops again? I bumped into another friend that night and I guess she arrived at the start of the event, probably because she knew better and she was able to snag a bunch of SWS' cake pops. I almost offered to pay her double, but refrained, because quite honestly, she would have probably told me NO! LOL. So I left with only coffee and pizza that night (insert sad face and some sniffles). So fast forward to my most recent encounters. SWS was organizing an event with Megan Myrick Photography over the summer called Christmas in July, so this time, I vowed to arrive on time! Well, the early bird gets the worm because I was able to secure four cake pops, and thank goodness because if I had come home empty handed after promises of cake pops, well you know what the outcome of that would have been! I was able to meet Becca, the cake pop artist (the "fairy") behind the edible art cake pops and this time, the cake pops were in a mini ice cream bar form in a Christmas theme with three in a pack. I got a fourth one that was in the shape of a Hot Chocolate cup character. The other time, we went to a grand opening of Kidzways and they had commissioned SWS to make the cake pops for the occasion. Becca is just so incredibly talented, just scroll through her Insta and she's so humble about it too. If you are a cake pop enthusiast or aspiring cake pop artist, she posts behind-the-scenes videos on how she makes some of her pops. She makes it look so easy! As previously mentioned, on top of her beautiful and sometimes quirky designs (like Thanksgiving turkeys, flamingos, seahorses, YODA!) her cake pops are delicious! She does not compromise on taste nor quality and you can taste it! She bakes her cakes and whips icing from scratch and then molds these labor intensive cake pops into whatever vision you have (she has)! Her prices aren't too crazy either, considering how much work must go into those things. I literally cannot stress the details of these little delights on sticks (see pics). And one last thing, her cake pops have been on The Late Late Show with James Corden. I mean, she's kind of a big deal and she's right here under our noses! - Tips - If you can't wait for a pop-up, you can also order through her website, but I imagine there is a minimum quantity, but plan ahead, because she books fast! I also noticed recently that she offers Cake Pop decorating classes at Kidzways, and I know that sold out as well, but if you want to see the artist in action and get a few tips, that may be your chance!
