Chicken pot pie special with green beans, mashed potatoes & gravy and coleslaw. (Sorry for sideways pic upload)

Fantastic! This unassuming gem doesn't look like much to pull up to but there will certainly already be other cars there, as the locals certainly know this is the place to go. Inside, there are about 8 tables. We got there just after 1pm on a Monday and it remained just over half full as the lunch crowd finished up and a few more late-comers like us trickled in. Everyone there knew each other and treated each other in a friendly way. We were the only outsiders there but were welcomed warmly. The staff was timely, attentive and very friendly. Lunch was quick but relaxed and not rushed. Everything is homemade there and food was delicious. Our 4 & 9-year-olds played it safe with filled cheese & fries and chicken tenders & chips which they enjoyed, but they preferred to pick off my husband's and my plates. We each ordered one of the two specials of the day. He got the hamburger steak and I got the chicken pot pie. Both were delicious. We could pick 3 sides. We each picked the green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, and I got the cole slaw and my husband picked fried okra. I usually can't stand okra but agreed to try my husband's because everything else was so good. It was really good, even my kids liked it! We had to order even more mashed potatoes and gravy as we couldn't keep our kids out of our plates! We all got sufficiently stuffed and still headed out with some leftovers. Definitely look forward to going back to this family-owned restaurant when driving near here in the future. I highly recommend!

Small, clean place with home cooking. Open 6:30 a.m. To 2:00 p.m. Nice people Loved veggies, but the fried chicken was just okay. My husband didn't like his meatloaf. The cornbread was unsweetened, I like mine a little sweet, but I am not from Mississippi. You get a choice of meat, 3 veggies, choice of corn bread or roll and dessert. The peach cobbler was good, spongy dough, not like pie crust. The locals all know each other, kinds of a meeting place! There are tables and a counter with stools. There were other desserts available.

This place has been here as long as I can remember. In college we would stop in here for lunch and get the same plate of veggies and meat for $5.25, now 30 years later it's the same great food and only $7 Choose the plate lunch or a sammich. Everything is $7. Awesome food. Lunch only. Cash only.

Decent Meat and 3. Service great. Price was right. Better than any of the other options in town.

Restaurant empty probably because it wasn't dinner time yet. A lady who seemed to be her mom came and was friendly. I wanted an ice coffee. My companion wanted a regular hot coffee. She stated that she'd have to make a new batch since the existing coffee was old from this morning. That was thoughtful. While waiting, I looked at all certificates from health inspections, etc. On wall near front door. All looked expired. One expired last year and others were at least 2 to 3 years old I believe. This had me concerned and nervous. We got the coffee. Please note they don't have any specialty espresso in case you're a coffee fan. My companion says the coffee was very watery. So I never drank mine unfortunately over concerns listed above. There are no cafes in town that I know of with good coffee. I wanted to leave and get money back but I didn't want to be rude. Also I noticed the young lady putting ice with a bucket into the top of the soda machine. She compounded it down with the side of the bucket. I'm not sure how clean that method is. Maybe it would be better to use gloves and do it by hand to spread put the ice once you pour it? Just suggesting. I'm not sure how the food is since we only bought coffee.

You go because you already…read moreknow exactly what's on the menu and that it's the same frozen-from-Sysco food warmed up with love (and by love, I mean a microwave). Comforting in its own way. BUT -- our waitress? An absolute angel. The sweetest thing this side of the Mississippi. She is the reason for the 5 stars. My mom is elderly, and this woman doted on her like she was her own grandmother. Truly made our lunch feel like a 5-star experience. I swore I wouldn't forget her name... and yet here we are. A couple of items were missing from our order, and she fixed everything instantly, no fuss. I ordered the grilled chicken salad (yes, I know -- who orders that at Cracker Barrel?), and she even had the chicken put on the side so my lettuce wouldn't wilt. How sweet is that?! My mom always has a complicated vegetable plate order, and our waitress made sure every single thing was just right. She really elevated the whole meal. The restaurant itself? Same as every other Cracker Barrel in America -- same decor, same little country store full of things you don't need but suddenly want. Which, honestly, is part of the charm. You go for the rocking chairs and the shopping almost as much as the food. If all Cracker Barrels had service like this, they'd be unstoppable.

Let me begin by stating that for years, my family and I have enjoyed dining at CB. However, over…read morethe last few months, I've been very disappointed with the quality of food and the changes they have made. I hope they can bring the old CB back. But let's move forward to this particular restaurant. I arrived around 8 am to find that there was only one couple in the entire restaurant, besides myself. After being seated, I had to ask the waitress to move me to another table, due to the foul odor from the table/and or chairs. She moved me one table over, but I could still smell the odor. I placed my order and then began looking around...I couldn't believe how dirty the floors were. I might could understand if it was near closing or during a busy time, but it was 8 am. The floors were filthy, as seen in the photos When I did get my food, my grits were barely warm. I made the waitress aware and she offered to have the grits reheated but At this point I was so turned off by the filth that I just wanted to finish and leave. I really hope CB can turn things around.
