A dish like this is made to be enjoyed for one more day. Just imagine, once it sits overnight the seasonings will mesh together even more and...hummm some good eating. I went to this restaurant "BackDraft," and ordered something I "would not" order because I'm not one of those people who has an affinity for them. If they are at a family cookout and my nephew, who is the family chef, cooks them on the grill, I might eat one or two. Okay, wait for it, chargrilled oysters. I know some are "clutching their pearls," repeating "say it's not so". Yes, I'm one of those people. However, when I went into the restaurant, I wasn't really hungry but knew that after a long day I had to put something substantial in my stomach for the evening. So, I had a taste for some soup. I ordered the "Gumbo," and the chef "Shawn" (with his innocent demeanor) happened to be walking towards the front counter, and the front desk staff asked him to describe the Gumbo and how he made it. I was intrigued after hearing how he cooked it, thinking it was just going to be some type of tomato-based soup. So, I ordered a cup. Then I kept looking at the "Jacked-Up Oysters," which Shawn guaranteed that I would love. So, I ordered a half-dozen, thinking that I was wasting my money. I took it to go because again I was tired and wanted to get back to the hotel. Let me tell you, the Gumbo was absolutely tantalizing with just the right amount of spice to let you know you are tasting something special. It was nothing as I had anticipated. Also, for the person who is not a real "oyster person," I ate those oysters like there was no tomorrow; like they were the last oysters on earth or like I stole something. Okay, I would NEVER steal anything; not my thing. Life is worth living to the fullest and experiencing it. Chef Shawn, you did your thing, "sir". I can't wait to come back to try other dishes there while I'm traveling. So, walk, skip, hop, run, jog, drive, bike, take the bus, or if you are in the area, please stop by here and have your taste buds awakened. I am not sure I've traveled that far just to eat a meal ever before. Will I do it again? Most likely.... Will I stay here overnight next time? Yes. We found some other interesting spots and a decent hotel is just down the way from this place. I've been hesitant to review for a couple of weeks now, because how do you rate pizza that is a four hour round trip? 5 stars.... That's how. Cut to the chase here on the food. She has now been ranked #9 in the US Top 50 pizza, and she just got #48 in the world in Italian World Top 100 in 2026! Moved up considerably from last year in both. This pie features our house white parmesan garlic sauce, high-moisture mozzarella, Italian sausage, lemon citrus drizzle, shaved parmesan, basil + lemon wedge." That's all I needed. But there was more. "Lemon Tiramisu" lemon-soaked ladyfingers layered with fluffy mascarpone cream and sweet-tart lemon curd, topped with whipped cream Get in the damn car, C, you are driving! There ain't no chargers in Cleveland!!!! They had the pizza of my dreams when we got there, but they were out of the Lemon Tiramisu. Boo. Cry. Pout. Roll on the floor tantrum. C got the Pepperrory, which was a fantastic pepperoni pizza! Just lovely crunch from the dough, with the spicy, greasy, goodness of the top notch pepperoni and mozzarella. I dig her tomato sauce a lot! My pizza was straight from the gods! The tangy lemon and the flavorful sausage just oozed with goodness. The Parmesan garlic sauce was so damn good, I wish I could bathe in it and eat myself! Phenomenal pizza! We both had dessert. Since they were out of the lemon junt I came for, I opted for regular tiramisu. It was delightful! C got the peace cheesecake. It may have been the whole star of the show. Both dessert yielded two or three servings. Excellent value! Now the backstory. We arrived about 16:45 to a line out the door. It's first come, first served for tables. If you don't have a free spot when you order, you get it to go. The line runs through the middle of the dining room and the FOH space is no frills, just what is needed with some slight flashes of pop. Minimal art, some cool 3D bagels and pizza, and her awards. I'd say there are approximately 50 seats maybe. Who needs more? Certainly not me. I'm here for the food! Back to being in line.... Right after we post up a largely annoying family gets right up right behind me. Like uncomfortable close. I won't go into too much detail to avoid this review being dumped by the moderators. Just know. Gross humans all around. They all sat down at a 4 top and a 2 top while everyone else was in line. As we approach the counter, I start counting seats. Math works out to be one table left when we get done ordering. We order and ask if we can have the last 4 top as it's the only table left. I dip off... I come back and my wife is way down in the hall on a bench. "Sup? Why aren't you sitting?" However, this could become my favorite liquor store in this town of about 20,000. Everything is new in a brand new building. Their prices are reasonable and competitive. As I walked in, they spoke to me immediately and asked if they could help me find anything. The first display I saw up front was a promotion on a Kentucky bourbon. It was on sale for $19.99 and came in a bigger bottle than Jack Daniels. I took it to the cashier and paid for it and they asked for my business back.
