    First sandwich on top.
    Elizabeth B.

After being gone for a few years, I was excited to be back and get my favorite sandwich and side form MS Grounds. Unfortunately, my experience means I will not be back. First they were out of the side I wanted at 11:20am and then they were out of all bread except wheat berry. Okay, I'll adapt. Then I get my sandwich which was covered in ash and soot. I drove back and explained that hate to do this but my sandwich was practically inedible. It had crunchy bits of burnt food all over the meat. The guy behind the counter looked at me like I had two heads and with stank asked "what you want your money back." When I asked if they could make another sandwich without the burnt bits they informed me that all of their sandwiches are like this because of their grill pan. When I asked for my money back he turned around and said no he will try to make a new one. You can see from my pics that he did not try. The second sandwich was just as bad but I took it and left because I had had enough. My question is, do they not clean their grill pan? Because that's nasty. But judging by the state of the grill equipment out front, I think that's a no. I know food and grills and there is a difference between well loved and not taken care of. I guess this explains why there was no one there during what should have been the lunch rush. Notable but not as gross: my husbands latte was over steamed and not very good. My iced latte wasn't very good either. It tasted kinda stale.

I like this coffee shop. They have WiFi too. It's located across the street from the Bolivar County Court House. It's self serve if you are just ordering coffee. I got a small coffee for $2. If you want something like a cappuccino or a latte then, they will fix it for you. They have inside seating as well as outside seating. The outside seating has umbrellas too in case you are wondering. I saw no TVs. I saw 5 ceiling fans and several couches. It's in an old service station which is kind of unique. I will be coming back again since this is just one of two coffee shops here in Cleveland that I know of.

Decent coffee shop in this area! Coffee snobs - there are no pour overs, just carafes. My latte was pretty milky (not strong enough espresso!) but decent. They also have bagels, scones, muffins, and soups, salads, and sandwiches for lunch. The baristas/workers are very kind!

Blueberry muffin and a caramel frappes with whipped cream

I ordered a caramel frappe and they literally blended ice and put coffee on top there is no caramel flavor and their blueberry muffins are literally frozen.

Awesome coffee shop! I loved the fact that this building was originally an old gas station/garage......merging two loves of my garage and my coffee. I stopped in early day for a quick cappuccino which was pretty good. After working I needed some time to finish up a report. I used their free WIFI and enjoyed some brewed coffee. Their dark roast was excellent and bottomless (refills). I need to go back and try some of the scones that another reviewer mentioned. Those sounded great. I also saw that they were serving food that seemed to be popular since there were quite a few customers eating also. The people working there were really nice and friendly. The BEST part was the fact that they opened one of the roll-up garage doors to let the fresh air in. It was awesome since the weather was nice that day. I wish there was someplace just like this back home. I'm fairly positive that this is the same building that "The Bean Counter" was at. Is there some way for Yelp to note that The Bean Counter is no longer? It is kind of confusing if you are not familar with the area. Update: The blueberry scones are indeed tasty as well as the rasberry white chocolate ones. I did not get a chance to try the lunch food but it did look pretty promising. Seriously the people there are really nice and not too busy to stop and talk about the area. Stop in, I promise you will not be disappointed. I hope I make it back to their area soon.

Small place with a number of quaint tables. The smoothie was good. Quick service. Close to the campus.

Considering their muffins and desserts are not home made, their drinks are over priced but still good. Service could be a little better.

Pretty okay place, but wildly overpriced. Since its a pedestrian cafe, I'm baffled by the price gouging...

During one of my nighttime closing shifts, I was scheduled for the last hour and was left by myself in the front of the restaurant. A rush came in, leaving me with a long line of customers while I was still learning and had not been properly trained to handle everything by myself. The cashier position also involved much more than simply running the register. I was expected to clean the restaurant, run the register, handle the drive-thru, make tea and lemonade, clean tables, take food out to customers, and handle other front-of-house responsibilities. That is a lot to expect from someone who is brand new and still learning, especially when they are left alone during a rush. I was trying to keep up and asked Johnathan for help, but I felt like I was being ignored and laughed at instead of being helped. There was also an issue with the tea. Before the manager clocked out and left, she told me to dump the tea out before I left. Later, Johnathan was ringing customers up for sweet tea and then dumped out the tea I had made, which was confusing because customers were still ordering sweet tea. There was another situation where I completed an order for spuds, only to be told afterward that they didn't have spuds. I was already overwhelmed trying to handle the rush by myself, and situations like that made everything even more stressful. Eventually, I became overwhelmed enough that I walked out. I texted my manager afterward about quitting, and although she asked me to call her because she wanted to talk, I never actually received a follow-up conversation from her about what happened. Nobody from management actually asked me how I felt or what happened from my perspective. Instead, I eventually received a call from a VP. The first thing discussed was getting paperwork completed so I could receive my paycheck. I explained that, at that point, the money wasn't what I was concerned about. I wanted someone to actually acknowledge what had happened and hear my side of the situation. I had to explain that nobody had even asked me about what happened. I was then offered another position as a dishwasher because it paid more. Honestly, that was frustrating because the issue wasn't that I wanted a different position or more money. I wanted to be properly supported in the position I was originally hired for. Offering me a different position didn't address what had happened. I understand that restaurants get busy and that new employees are going to make mistakes. However, I don't think a 16-year-old who is still learning should be left alone in the front during a nighttime closing shift and a rush without proper support or training. I also don't think the way the situation was handled afterward was appropriate. Johnathan was in a team-lead position, and based on my experience, I did not feel like I was treated with the level of support or professionalism I should have received from someone in that position. They advertise a culture of treating customers like family, but employees deserve that same respect, patience, and support. If you truly want employees to provide that kind of experience for customers, you also need to make sure your employees feel valued, supported, and heard. I hope management takes situations like this seriously, actually listens to employees when something happens in the future, and makes sure new employees aren't left alone in situations they're not trained or prepared to handle. My experience here was extremely frustrating and disappointing.
