I really wanted to like this place. It's got a fun, lively atmosphere not too far from the main strip in downtown Sumner. It's kinda divey, and sticky, but I figured by the big crowd their food would at least be good. Sadly, it was a huge (and expensive) disappointment. First off, this is not a very vegetarian-friendly place. Nearly everything is meat-based unless you pick crepes or pancakes. I'm a savory-breakfast kind of girl so the boring non-meat choices of crepes or pancakes weren't doing it for me. They do have one veggie omelet, the "Holly Go Lightly", which promises mushrooms, spinach, tomato, swiss, and Parmesan with hollandaise and a side of potatoes - so I chose that one. My husband got a crepe. It was so gross. In fact, both dishes were gross. The omelet came out swimming in a puddle of grease. Inside the slippery, colorless egg, were slimy, greasy mushrooms accompanied by the mushy spinach and tomato. On top, offensive amounts of cheese and pointlessly flavorless hollandaise. The potatoes were actually okay - I ate those first because I was starving. But I could barely choke down the omelet which was clearly only on the menu to say they had something vegetarian. It was thoughtless and didn't earn any of the $15.99 (!!!) it stole from my wallet. The crepe actually had a similar story. Flavorless, rubbery, and swimming in a watery puddle of half-frozen berries. Nasty. Sadly, we won't be back. read more

Down to earth ambiance and good vibes upon entry into the Buttered Biscuit. The food portions are huge, but considering the prices are pretty high, you are getting quality food for the right price. Come hungry or share meal!! We tried the Plate of Cakes, The 12th Man, and the Cinnamon Roll. Check out the pics!!! Service was also great. read more

The food was amazing, service was top notch, and was a great experience to start our week!

Met up with a fellow member of a club I'm in while she was in town and staying close by and I'm really glad for the rare events that make me get out of my Bellevue/Seattle bubble because there isn't usually a reason for me to go this far south for me to ever discover this gem. Holy moly, this is quite the breakfast place. Everything on the menu looks so tempting, we definitely ordered way too much food because we want to sample everything. They have corky entree on the menu such as "The Kim Kardashian" where it gives you a little extra meat, where is the crying laughing face emoji. Hahaha. Portions are huge, excellent quality over your basic Denny's or Ihop's. I'm sorry to even mention that because they're not even within the same tier. The vibe I get here is casual, locally owned which during a time like this, it's important to support your community. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:) read more

The food was great and had very large portions. The service was amazing. In fact, our 2nd cup of coffee was a little late, so the waitress put it in a couple cups and had us take it with us. We will definitely be back and Jaden was our hero. read more

Disappointing, loved the place before they shut down, but now not so much. It's like they kept the menu but forgot the recipe. The corn bread which they were famous for, was chewy and over cooked. Potions were still over size ( raised the prices too) read more

my first time here and my cousin told me about this spot. the big guy with a beard was our waiter and he is RUDE. He came to my table as i was waiting for my cousin to join me and he asked "for one?" i said "for two" and throws the menu's on the table and walks away. he says "do you want any drinks other than water" i said "no thanks but i'm ready to order" i ordered the Chicken Little and asked if there was onions in the corn beef he said yes and it was already pre made. so i asked if there was any onions in the hash and he raises his voice "it's already pre made!" i said "okay can i have it on a separate dish?" he says with a tone loud again " you want a separate dish?!" i said "yeah" cause i don't like onions in corn beef hash and my cousin might wanna eat it. I understand some people are not fit for stressful and high volume positions. Honestly, working at a restaurant shouldn't be on the list of jobs for this guy. Mind you when all this was going down, the elderly couple next to me saw everything. read more

The food is absolutely fantastic. I had the best country fried steak and eggs I have had in my life here. Great cornbread too! The prices are a bit high for a breakfast place, but the quality of the food and portions are worth the price. Service was good, but my coffee was empty a couple times. The inside feels like an old house that the walls were knocked out of and hen they had grandma decorate. I will be back! read more

Wow. This place is a really cool atmosphere with nice staff, but the food is absolute garbage. I've been here twice and both times the food was pretty much disgusting. Earlier this week, we went for breakfast and I ordered what they call "Traditional Eggs Benedict" and I guess it's on me for not reading the description, but Traditional Eggs Benedict has a very specific definition to me. What I received can be seen below and can only be described as dry af biscuit and biscuit ends (yes, dry ends) with super thick ham, and hollandaise sauce. The Hollandaise was okay, but really really thick. Almost like gravy. The poached eggs were way over poached and the yolk was not runny at all. The portions are gigantic which is nice, but the food is pretty bad. Overall, I would not recommend The Buttered Biscuit. read more

Outrageously delicious food!! Went in for breakfast and decided in the S.O.S plate. This gravy was so rich and creamy and flavorful. Hands down some of the best breakfast gravy anywhere around. I couldn't even eat a 1/4 of the food on my plate. Come hungry..... very hungry. The cornbread they serve before the food arrives is also probably some of the best I've ever had. Moist and dense with a slightly sweet, crunchy top with this silky, divine, sweet butter on top. Two of us barely made a dent in it and I regretted that my stomach could not hold more. The menu will make you laugh if you have a sense of humor. My adult son and I had a case of the giggles reading the menu. read more

Second time here and still so good. If you like bloody Mary's I highly recommend the Bloody Mary here. I hadn't had chicken fried steak for years. I decided to order it and was happy with my choice. The gravy was amazing on it, nice crispy chicken steak, scrambled eggs were delicious. Huge portion. Ate the other half for breakfast at home the following day. Bring your patience and someone who is hood at conversation. There is always a wait. However once the food comes silence will take over. Now I'm hungry for those eggs. Better go back read more

I went there and ordered "traditional eggs Benedict " and was brought out eggs Benedict on biscuits (yes I should know hence the name but that is NOT traditional eggs Benedict) so I asked our waitress and she said "I can bring you an English muffin" so I said yes. Thinking it would be like 1-2 min. Nope. 15 min later she brought me an English muffin. I've never had such poor service that they would make ME disassemble my food and swap it for what is actually "traditional ". Not sure why you'd advertise something and it not be anywhere near the real thing. Needless to say she brought me the check and expected me to still pay for the meal that was not touched and just disassembled. Absolutely not. Disgusting read more

Love going here staff is always nice and the food is great. Big servings. We love the cheesecake French toast

A friend and I went on a Sunday morning and were thankfully seated right away. We ordered the Don't Be a Chicken to share and the server said it was a great idea and didn't even bat an eye. I never know how well received that will be but she was so kind. Also, it came out already divvied up which was so appreciated with no upcharge- thank you!! It was a TON of food so I was very glad we shared. Last but certainly not least the gravy, CFS and biscuit were the stars of the show. Literally the best breakfast I've had in at least as long as I can recall. Truly terrific and great service! I will 1000% be returning with more friends and family. read more

I've gone 3 times, and each time the food was good, but we did encounter the same issues at each visit: service is always slow and inconsistent. Getting refills is really hard, even when they check up on your table, they're just passing by and hollering as they walk away. The tables are always sticky and look old, the floor is uneven, and some chairs are crooked or broken. Do not, under any circumstances, get their iced coffee...that thing is an abomination. It's hot water with instant coffee and we couldn't stomach it. The food, however, is plentiful and tasty. I've seen the Facebook posts and it does deter us from returning, even though the food really is tasty. It's concerning to see all of the unapproved reviews at the very bottom of the Yelp page, though. read more

So many amazing choices here! Ironically one of my go to orders is their corn bread which is really more like a corn cake...so good. I've experienced the pancakes, waffles, eggs, potatoes, crepes, and beignets all of which I enjoyed thoroughly and felt they did a great job with each in their unique way. The workers have all been pleasant and helpful with answering questions and offering recommendations. They've done some recent remodeling and the place looks great! We really missed this place while it was under construction! Glad it is back up and pumping out great food again! read more

My seatmate for the Seahawk's games and I go to the Buttered Biscuit for breakfast before most Seahawk's games. We had been splitting the Mr. Haskin's and the two of us has not finished it all season. Their portions are just soooo big. We loved the twist of an egg scramble over tater tots. It is so yummy. On our last visit, we decided to change it up and ordered Grandpa's chicken fried steak. We still split it but it was so delicious, we actually both cleaned our plate in spite of our just eating as gluttony towards the end of our meal. Between the hand breaded steak and savory gravy, it is a great combination. And you can choose between hash browns or tater tots. There is often a wait to get in but the line goes quickly and the service is friendly so we do not mind a small wait. I have only had 3 of the menu items, but I have enjoyed them all. Maybe you will too so check them out if you are ever in Sumner. read more

It was busy Saturday brunch. First visit and it won't be the last! Great food, appreciated the humor, funny and quirky establishment. 1/2 Orders would be considered normal size so be forewarned. It took quite some time to get our food but it was worth it. I would recommend going earlier in the morning to avoid the rush. Highly recommend the Russel Wilson Omelette. Excellent! read more

Food is very yummy and you get a lot of it with your order. I had the strawberry French toast and a side of grits. And my hubby had the Kevorkian omelet with cornbread. The corn bread was very delish with the creamy butter. My French toast was very good as well. The grits reminds me of the south...very thick and heavy...but it comes with butter which I don't care for. I felt like I was eating a tub of butter. You can always ask for no butter on it. I also had the regular mimosa which was large it was like all the others. The coffee is a medium roast. The omelet came with house potato and I could just eat that all day. The ambiance was really nice and quiet, I did show up when they just open. Our server Steve was really nice and helpful. I do plan on coming back, there's a few things in the menu I wanted to try. Come with an empty tummy. read more

This is really good place!!! Im really recommend to check it out, yummy meals, pretty big portions....

Just the place we have been looking for. Quick and friendly attention, immediate drink service, including whipped butter frosted cornbread, which really made my wife happy. Honestly the best and largest omelette I have ever seen, full of delicious meat, and such generous portions we took home plenty for later, at least my wife did since I managed to finish off mine! Tom was such a fun waiter, and we really look forward to making this our "go-to" weekend breakfast spot!!! Thank God since we really needed this in our area! read more
