The Antler - Reception Entry

I recently had the honor of working with Jennifer and Mark Shelton at The Antler. I was the…read moreWedding Planner and we chose The Antler for the reception even before they had begun construction. From day one their professionalism and attention to detail put me at ease. I saw the plans but never dreamed that they would create a space that has so much opportunity and has such attention to detail. Upon first viewing the property and architecture are organic but the design possibilities are endless. Your event can be as rustic or elegant as you can imagine. The spaces are open and not over decorated allowing the event designer to create based on the client's personal style. The lighting is elegant yet intimate. There's plenty of power to bring in sound and lighting to create the desired ambience. The buildings are large with tall ceilings so we kept acoustics in mind as we designed the event. There's a commercial kitchen in Grey Manor and a catering kitchen in The Grand Hall and even a full "home" kitchen in the cabins. Our caterer used the kitchens and set up a tent, as well. Everything moved to perfection. It's not a commercial building in an urban setting but there are parking options and Mark was a huge help in thinking through the logistics. More than anything it's the perfect place for meetings, reunions, social gatherings and especially to make memories. Wedding Planners, Event Designers and Caterers alike will surely enjoy making magic at The Antler. Tim Pierce Signature Designs, Inc. Memphis, TN www.thehousewaslovely.com

We attended my son's wedding here Saturday. Great place with everything you need. Plenty of room…read morefor ceremony in one building, reception in nearby building, comfortable guesthouse for out of town family in third building. Peaceful, beautiful, rustic setting. Adequate restrooms available in each building, and dressing/prep rooms in central building. Great working air conditioning in all buildings in spite of sweltering heat. Area available for outdoor weddings within steps of buildings in case it rains, which it did! Clean facilities and grounds throughout. Driving from Michigan, Tennessee and South Carolina, we weren't disappointed and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere.

Well unfortunately I have waited too long in writing my review. However I couldn't let it go…read morewithout one. We were headed back from AR from a graduation and while staying in Tupelo found this restaurant close to our hotel. Not from being around the area weren't real sure about it but only because we were not seeing a lot of food items we liked. However because it was close by our hotel and the star rating was high, we decided to try it out. Oh my gosh; I am so glad we did. Even months ago enjoying our food to now, I can still remember how amazingly tasty our food was. My hubby and I shared the Dirty Grains with greens and things. We both have never had greens in our lives, but our server told us they were very scrumptious at the Blue Canoe. She was spot on!! They were delicious, really the entire meal was DELISH!! I am so glad we shared the dish because it was a lot and very filling. Now the restaurants famous sauce that is made fresh every day is worth its weight in gold. Our server has been there a very long time and she said she is the gal who makes it daily. I can't really explain the taste but it is very, very tasty. We were so full and it as going to pass on dessert. Of course our server told us about their dessert that is #1 on the menu...Connie's Blueberry Doughnut Bread Pudding (pictured). Once again super scrumptious and worth every calorie. If you are new to the area I highly recommend a trip to the Blue Canoe. It doesn't look like much outside and inside it can seem like a dive. It isn't because it's been around d a while and the ambiance is really cool!! The parking lot gets quite full and was just a bit challenging to maneuver our large 250 GMC truck but we managed. This place is a gem and well worth our visits when we are traveling through. I'd love to go when they have live music but not sure when we will be driving through.

Go here, it's everything you need as advertised!…read more Service is great, they always have live music, good draft beer menu.
