Usually the burgers are good here, but today my burger was raw in the middle. The owner (I guess she's the owner) denied the burger was raw in the middle, and admitted she likes her meat bloody...that's her preference, not mine. I wish they would share how the burgers are cooked when ordering. She said the burgers are cooked medium or medium well and that I would not get sick. This was, relatively, the closest restaurant to me for Yelp's Burger Binge Week ($5 featured burger, during burger month), so I took off on and early lunch adventure, from work in Sugar Land. This place reminds me of the Little Bitty Burger Barn, in NW Houston, but it's bigger. Yep, I did that! Lol. It's a quaint building with just enough seating for a nice sized lunch crowd. There's even a couple of tables outside on the porch. The featured burger was The Rosenburger (which is 1/3 lb 100% Beef, Two Fried Onion Rings, Sliced Avocado, Lettuce, Tomato, Homemade Salsa, Mayo on a Buttered Toasted Bun). After a short wait at counter, I ordered it without the avocado and the Mayo. I joked with the lady behind the counter that I probably removed everything that makes this burger it's namesake. Lol. I got mustard on the side . After about 15 minutes, I got my order, and took off (since I was 20 minutes from work). I wanted to see this burger, so I whipped everything out of the paper bag, as soon as I got into my vehicle. I was deflated...just like this burger. The bun seems to have "smushed" down onto the meat patty. Also, there wasn't more that one piece of green lettuce on it AND the meat wasn't hot. I mean, it had been five minutes from the door to my vehicle! Sheesh! I think that I was more impressed with the fries. Hmmm...maybe the burger had to wait on the fries? Lastly, I also ordered a Limeade, which was disappointing. It literally tasted like water with a drop of lime and a ton of sugar. Blech! read more

I was working in Rosenberg for about 3 months and found this hidden gem of a restaurant. Started coming weekly and I will say they do not disappoint. I was relocated to San Antonio and missed this place so much, luckily I am back in Houston so I made it a point to come back out here. I've never had a bad burger here until today. We both got a JR barn burger and it was WAY overcooked. The meat was crispy on the outside and dry on the inside. Even the cheese was burnt on the edges so much that it crumbled off and was brown. The sweet potato fries had great flavor but were greasy and soggy. It will be a while before we come back. There are several places to eat in Rosenberg, but if you haven't tried The Burger Barn, you should! The menu is huge, if you can't find something to eat , then you are in a bad shape I went with the grilled chicken teriyaki sandwich. It came with a slice of grilled pineapple!! Me and my fiancé went here and we loved it!! Perfectly cooked and service was fast. I can tell they didn't have too many staff members so as a manager of a restaurant myself, I understood when there was a couple of dirty tables. That didn't deter me and the price wasn't too bad for what we got. Definitely going to be a regular spot for a sit down burger place. read more

My original review still holds true but just felt an update was in order. The interior decor is still a cute barn decor with red and white checkered table clothes and barn wood. The family friendly restaurant has 4-top tables, a few tall-tops in front of the counter and outdoor seating on the porch. The menu hasn't changed, very legible online menu and has a terrific selection of burgers, dogs, appetizers, wings and Mexican options. Frozen margaritas and beer are available as well as soda and tea. We ordered 10 Asian wings served with 3 containers of blue cheese dressing for dipping, a frito pie and a blue cheese wedge salad. The salad was crisp and fresh with a decent amount of blue cheese. The frito pie was fritos based topped with chili meat and finished off with cheddar cheese. I would enjoy more if it were more chili than just the meat. It needs the liquid to balance out the ingredients so it's not so dry. The excellent Asian wings were large and the sauce was delicious. I loved having enough blue cheese dressing for the entire order of wings. They have a lot of carryout orders because they do it well. Our carryout order was packaged very well, the order was correct and no spillage. Hot items were hot and cold items chilled. The good - This is a great place if you want a solid burger. My son, who is a burger enthusiast, said the original burger he got was in his top 10. He really liked the flavor of the meat. My husband got the mushroom burger and enjoyed it as well. He also had the onion rings, which I didn't try, but he said were some of the best onion rings he's had. My other son got the hot dog but didn't care for it as much. I got the fish sandwich which was delicious. The fish filets were perfectly fried and crispy, not oily at all. One of the best fish sandwiches I've had. My husband also commented that he liked that they keep their ketchup refrigerated. Also, they play a good variety of pop music and have a small selection of arcade games. The not so good - We also ordered the French fries but I was not impressed by those. They were not hot, barely lukewarm, and there was no flavor to them. Also, the tap water had a very odd smell and taste to it. You could smell the chlorine. We told the staff and they allowed us to get a fountain drink at no charge, so extra points for customer service. Overall, great burgers and sandwiches with fantastic onion rings and great service. The Burger Barn has turned into a staple food establishment for Rosenbergeans (those from or live in Rosenberg) and with good reason - the food is fantastic. The restaurant itself is SUPER CLEAN and well-maintained. Tables are bussed quickly and the food takes "just the right amount of time" to arrive (within 10-15 minutes for fresh burgers and crispy fries). The staff (which I'm certain live on-premise), is very helpful, friendly and vested in the business (and food) itself. Those feeling hungry (and brave), try out their Monster Burger Challenge! Equally hungry but less-brave? Any of their awesome burgers will rock your world! That's what I like. What I don't like: I think their reward program is a bit hinky and I'm not certain that it works well. You go a bunch of times, spend tons of money and when you input your number into their little "machine" over and over, you get squat. If it were me, I'd revamp that! read more

We made the trek out here to check out the hype and I found the burgers perfectly fine but not anything to drive long distances for. The burger itself tastes like a blend between a burger from Southwell's and one from Hrushka's, that now famous gas station on Hwy 71 that one always hits up on the way from Houston to ATX. I got the cheeseburger lunch combo for $6.99 and it came with plenty of fries and a drink. The burger was greasy but the patty was clearly formed by hand. Kudos for that. My toddler had a kid's cheeseburger combo and loved it. It was also greasy. My husband tried the bacon cheddar burger and only managed to get down half of it. We shared a basket of fried mushrooms as an appetizer and those were very good. The shrooms were huge and come with a side of ranch dressing for dipping. Bottom line? Stop by if for some reason you are allllll the way out here, but don't make a special trip for these burgers. read more

I've eaten a burger barn once and have attempted to eat at burger barn three more times but every time I call the person who answers the phone tells me it'll be a 45 minute wait and do I really want to place an order and then they proceed to tell you what they don't have available The food is passable but there are lots a good burgers in the Rosenberg area My biggest complaint is the way they answer the phone the attitude the lack of friendliness the inability to communicate the Prep time and inventory issues in such a way that you don't get the feeling they're telling you to hang up the phone and call someone else The owner of burger barn might want to sit in and listen to house orders his are being taken over the phone I bet you could increase your sales by 25% with a more professional and friendlier attitude read more

This is not my first choice for a burger, but when you're favorite burger place is closed, I'll chance it. I'm really unhappy with giving them second chances. Today again my order was subpar. First, they forgot the avocado on the burger. $1.49 that they stole from me. Second, as you'll see in the pics, the regular fry is a joke for $2.99. The bag wasn't even full. Third, they burnt the southwestern egg rolls and forgot the ranch that comes with it. The original owners did a fantastic job of running the restaurant. Whoever owns it now does not. Wow! I love this place. We've been going for years and I'm impressed every time we go. The best burgers available just about anywhere. I had the Rosenberger which has onion rings and salsa. My wife had the wings and we split an order of loaded tater tots. Everything was top notch. The manager is a hustler too! The service is god awful. I tried to call ahead to order my food so it would be ready on time. I was on hold for 6mins before I almost gave up but someone finally put me off hold before I hung up! I been here for 40MINS and no appetizers the wings I ordered 10mins prior to getting here are still not ready. Thats an order of 15wings. So disappointing. I have been eating at the Alvin location for years and it is awesome. I'm occasionally in Rosenberg and looked forward to eating here. Last time I tried they turned me away because they had a large order and it would be an hour wait. I tried again today. This time I Wa so my one of two parties at noon. Ordered the frito burger combo. Came with soggy lettuce, stale frito. chips and cold fries. Same ingredients/flavor as the Alvin location but poorly prepared. I should have heeded the other bad reviews. This will not detour me from the Alvin location but I'm done with this one. I hope they get their act together. read more

This place used to be good. Came here and ate in the restaurant today, we ordered 4 burgers for the family and they came out cold. They tasted like the meat patties were sitting under a heat lamp and when ordered they slap some cheese on them. So basically you get an unfresh burger with unmelted cheese and an untoasted bun. Save your money and eat elsewhere. Also, ordered the fried mushrooms which actually came straight from the oil with a tiny side of ranch. Asked for another and was told it would be $.75 for a couple squirts of ranch. Also, note 2 families left the restaurant while we were eating because they were upset with the service. Be careful when you order food from here. If they mess up they refuse to fix it and if you tell them you don't want the order anymore they refuse to give you a refund. Had a horrible experience today. No manager in the building apparently they were on break. Cook was the one handling my issue and he was clueless of what to do. He claimed it would come out of his paycheck if he refunded the order that I refused to take. I never received a refund and now I have to wait till it clears from my bank to dispute food I didn't even take with me. Horrible guest experience and bad attitudes. read more

To start off we completed placing our order at 6:25. We waited for 45 minutes while we watched everyone who arrived after us receive their food first. After about an hour I went up to say something and they just said "okay" the second time I went up they said " you're next in line after this party". Which was someone who had arrived after us! They proceeded to serve all other parties food. I finally went up asking for a refund after waiting over a full hour. The employee then called a manager Sergio on the phone and proceeded to subtract our beverages and when I thought that wasn't fair the employee had me speak to Sergio. On the phone with Sergio, I voiced my concerns and he said he would refund me but only charge me for our drinks. Which we were then charged $15 for 4 drinks. It's not that it was so late it's that they continued to serve all other parties over us. This was the worst customer service I feel I have received. McDonald's has better service and wouldn't argue with their customers after waiting over an hour for some burgers. I didn't even argue over the drink charge because at that point I had been there for 1 hour and 15 minutes. I will not be returning. read more
