Tried to order food for pickup just now....waited on hold for 11 minutes to get hung up on....

I had the wings, 10 piece, and my bf had the bacon burger chili cheese burrito- yes that is an actual menu item. It was delicious. I had my wings hustler style(formally know as playboy style) and for all you lame-a-lots that's naked. They were perfect and so was my bucket of Lone Star beer. We were so excited to try this place, especially because of the good reviews. We walked in and ordered 2 cheese burgers and a brisket sandwich. The burgers were absolutely TASTELESS! The buns were soggy, and soaked in some sort of weird orange margarine. The brisket sandwich was absolutely disgusting. It looked and tasted like wet cat food!!!! We ordered a side of fries which were ok, but again tasted like nothing. We also had the "avocado salad"as one of our sides. It was literally a bed of lettuce with mashed avocado thrown on top. No seasoning at all, not even a little salt and pepper. Again tasteless! Even the lemonade and ketchup tasted terrible. We won't be back, and will recommend people to stay away. The Blue Burger is awesome. Fell in love with the fries . Love at first bite! The only place my kid will eat a burger !

Staff is very rude and act like you are a nuisance just for ordering your food. Charge you for water cups. Food was mediocre.

Best burger I have ever had. They are grilled not fried. My mother raved about this place so I had to try. Will definitely be back!

First time was great. Ordered the same this time & was very disappointed. The waitress could have made the experience but made no effort. We ordered 10 wings and this it was 9 drumlets and 1 flapper. Waitress shrugged her shoulders. She pretty said you get what you get you have no choice. I didn't go into my issue with my burger. I asked for pepper jack cheese, no pepperjack cheese. The egg was to well done. Also you a drink refill, you'll be standing around a while if there is a line placing orders unless you get recognized by a staff member that is running food orders. Just hand your customers a cup and move the drink dispenser into the dining area. They need a manager or some working the dining area for refills and ask how the food is. Our waitress told no manager about our unhappiness. Really disappointing.I'm sure we can't be the only ones with this type of experience. read more

Four stars for food 1 star for service. We have come in several times and never had a problem, until today. The owner (which I've never seen) was the cashier for today instead of greeting us answered the phone and proceeded to take a very long "to go" order all the while we stood there waiting.....more people came in and we all just waited for him to finish. I'd avoid this place. I've gone to this place 3-4 times since they opened. The first couple of experiences were not good. Granted they were 1-2 months after they opened...maybe they're still getting their act together? The first 2 times it took forever to get our food. The place was hot, the servers were terrible and forgot multiple things. I had to ask the same server 3 times to get a ranch that was supposed to come with the fried pickles. That's just unacceptable. The other times we picked up food because we were not in the mood to deal with the slow service. Both times we had to wait an extra 15 minutes on top of the 20 minutes they quoted us on the phone. The first 2 times we checked this place out they had a sign for baked potatoes. My GF knows I hate them so she doesn't get them often. She attempted to order them on our 3rd and 4th trips. The 3rd trip they said they still didn't have them....really?! After over 6 months of having that on the menu you still don't have them? The 4th time they were "out" of potatoes....ok that's fine. If you're picking up food....it's ok to go to this place...but if you're sitting down expect to get frustrated by the whole place. The burgers are ok, you can cook the same quality if not better at home(well I can at least). The fried pickles are good. Biggest complaints....the staff, the environment, the service in general. read more

Ultimately, the food ended up tasting not bad. However, waiting over FOURTY minutes for our fast food, "to-go" order to be done, waiting an extra 5 minutes for a simple coke to come out after already waiting the 40 minutes for the food, dealing with a restaurant full of loud teenagers (in direct similarity in age and maturity levels displayed by the only staff on hand), experiencing first hand, the teen girl cashier literally try to talk me out of three items I was ordering from her, either because they were too salty (in her opinion), or too spicy, and then having the staff totally screw up a the fries and onion rings orders as the necessity of the meals they each were to accompany was specifically explained within multiplicity to the cashier, that one side needs to go with one specific order and the other side needs to be adjoined with the other order (as 1/2 the order was going to a different person),the order resulting in both parties not getting what they each pad for, really, really sucked. In all, it was a very long, bad experience. Assuredly, I will continue to go to the local competition of this business where the establishment ownership cares enough about its customer base to not leave the business at peak hours on a Saturday evening, in the hands of a very young, immature and inexperienced staff. read more

Another great meal at The Burger Barn last night! I had one of their potatoes for the first time & it did not disappoint! I had the brisket one & it was absolutely delicious. My husband had the black bean burger & loved it. We have a son & daughter-in-law that live in Sugar Land & every time they come over, someone usually says "When are we going to Burger Barn?". The only thing maybe keeping this place open is the burgers are decent..... Called in my order for 2 people was told 15 min (the reason I called is cause I know it takes so long when you sit in) when I got there I paid... Waited 45 minutes more... Cooks forgot the fries.... Then when I get home and open the bag... Notice they only packed 1 burger instead of 2.... This isn't the first time this happened so I'm done with this place..... read more

My family and I have been to Burger Barn quite a few times. They were advertising "Kids Eat Free" on Tuesdays but then the sign came down. Whenever we go to eat there, they always charge us for the kids meals on Tuesdays. We have to keep reminding them that their meal is free. Be careful because some people might not even know this. It's their version "don't ask, don't tell." The last time I went I had a chicken baked potato and the chicken was chewy and you could tell it was old. The fish burgers are normally ok. I'm not sure if I will be going back. I'd rather go to M&M Burgers. read more

We LOVE this place. The burgers are really very good and VERY big! And the burger menu is extensive with so many burgers prepared in different ways. Fries are good and their onion rings are yum too. We really love this place- the servers are so friendly and attentive. We always get the bleu cheese burger, and it does not disappoint. The bun holds up, the veggies are fresh, and it is very tasty! Also can't go wrong with their chili cheese fries and fried pickles. A bit disappointed in the wings, though. We ordered lemon pepper, and while the wings were perfectly cooked and crispy, the coating was WAY too salty. If they ease up on the seasoning, they would be perfect. read more

the burgers are very good. but I'm guessing since they are new , it will take time for them to get things right. understaffed , Friday night's are too packed. small place. tables are up for grabs when one opens so don't expect to be seated or be on a wait list when you come in. they were so busy they forgot our order and waited more than an hour just for them to make the food. had to tell manager what is the hold up since the family before me and the couple after me got their food , ate and left! service overall sucked. but again food is good just be ready for the unexpected. oh and they forgot my fried pickles! read more

Have been here several times, the food is usually great. The service is horrible, super slow and the staff has the "sorry about your bad luck" attitude. Just went today and the system was down so it was cash only, which I know it happens but the guy running the register had no idea how to add or give change. Then we were over charged and were assured we got free drinks.... It is hot in this place and we asked them to turn the air on and the waitress just smirked at us. Tired of Mickey Ds? Go here. It's good, its reasonable, its clean. They have a board with a gazillion burgers so you will find something you like. My fave is the one w/ peanut butter. Wished I knew which brand they use b/c I've tried to duplicate at home and it's not nearly as good as the one at The Burger Barn. It you're watching your waistline, they have salads, grilled chicken and a couple other sensible selections. Popular and crowded but service has always been prompt, IME. Casual atmosphere. read more

Went in there today for a quick lunch, they took 23 minutes to make a simple chicken sandwich and a bacon cheeseburger. When I asked why it took so long they told me "I don't know". Average food for too much money and terrible service. And they charge for refills, who does that. read more

Had the worst service I've ever received in my life. Burger is not all that great takes forever to get your food. Then they give you some lame a** excuse why it takes all day. Guess owner is new to the service industry not used to hiring people who know how to be friendly.Also wearing flip flops is not very professional but the name does reference a barn. 2 stars bc the burger was actually good. Well what we got to finish. Fries were just like any frozen variety. Just left burger barn and it's clear the owners don't give the smallest care about the customers. First off it is 100 degrees outside and equally as hot inside. I see several complaints but obviously ac in the Texas summer is too much to ask. There is one small window size unit on the back of the building. That's it. For that entire old building or should I say cooks in the back. Also, the dining area is INFESTED WITH FLIES! The dining area isn't dirty that I can see but there are flies everywhere. They just swarm the room and sit on your food. I'd bet there are flies in the food prep area as well! Be prepared to guard your burger. If you set it down the flies will sit on it and after that it is wasted money! Let the flies have the fries. We complained to the girl at the counter and her response was "I'm sorry". I guess there isn't much she can do anyway. Hopefully the management corrects these issues bc the menu is extensive and I'd like to give them another shot, but I won't be sitting in the heat being attacked by flies to do so! read more

Visited for the first time today. The restaurant was soooo hot. Very uncomfortable. There was one girl taking the orders as well as refilling other customers' drinks. My child wanted a chili cheese dog so I asked for a hot dog kids meal and asked for chili and cheese on the hot dog. She said that they couldn't do that. I asked her if we could just pay for a cup of chili and she replied that they can't do that. They only serve chili on the menu items described as having chili such as the chili cheese fries. Because he couldn't have what he wanted he changed his mind to a beef brisket sandwich. When I ordered this for him she asked if we wanted a combo. She had already fixed his small Dr Pepper so I figured he could have that and some fries from one of the rest of us. So I told her "no" to the combo. She asked me if he wanted a drink and I looked at the Dr Pepper she had next to her as I was confused at this point. She moved the drink further away and said that because he didn't get the kids meal he couldn't have the drink. Wow. So I ordered him an adult meal and regular drink. If this is their way of up selling it was the most frustrating method ever. I also asked her if it was possible to make it any cooler as we were all sweating at the table. She said that it was just hot in there today. Hmmmm k. It was almost a relief when we walked outside in the 96 degree steamy day. All of that said, the food was very good. The lettuce on the burgers was wilted probably because of the temperature in the kitchen as well as restaurant. Onion ring batter was a tad heavy and dense rather than a light crispy batter. Those were my only cons to the food. If it wasn't so hot and we didn't have issues getting what we wanted which was not unreasonable (even asking them to charge us) I would have given four stars. They make a great burger, but the customer service leaves much to be desired. I've been there 3 times, and have had issues 2 of the 3, so I won't be going back. If you are at all inclined to customize your order, this is not the place for you. Simple requests like "hold the mayo and pickles, add bbq sauce" resulted in not only a charge for the bbq sauce ($0.69), but a burger that still had mayo and pickles (but no bbq sauce) on it. It took arguing with the manager on duty to get them to make the burger the way we ordered it. Overheard another customer being told they were out of something, after they had already paid for it, and the manager had to credit it back to them. Seems to be in keeping with some of the reviews I've seen from others. Tasty burger, terrible customer service, staff would rather argue than work with you, nickel-and-dime for any little change to what's on the menu...lost another customer. read more

Great burger joint. The food is excellent and the place just has a cool overall vibe to it (original hard wood floors, decor, etc.).

Don't know why this place gets rave reviews. The burger my husband got me from here was not only made wrong but the meat was so dry i couldn't even stand to finish eating it. The sides were good, but when you have burger in the name of your restaurant you'd think it would be the best item not the worst. I don't plan on ever eating here again. read more
