Ordered take out with a few friends who have come from here before. The food had sat for about 10 minutes before we started eating so it cooled down quite substantially. We ordered the fried pickles, fried cheese ravioli, sweet chili and Buffalo wings plus a gluten free margarita pizza. This was plenty only for three people. Having had limited experience with fried pickles I enjoyed them as they held their structure even being cooled down. The fried ravioli were exactly how you'd expect and not really anything special. We were originally going to get the mozzarella sticks but they ran out a month ago and haven't gotten a shipment since. The Buffalo wings were light in flavor as they were almost dry since the sauce was so light. I liked the sweet chili wings but then again those are my typical go-to. They were a moderate size and relatively moist on the inside. The margarita pizza had a lot of cheese on it with a passable gluten free crust for regular bread. Overall, standard experience and wouldn't mind ordering again or trying another local establishment. read more

First things first. The waitress was great and very pleasant. Now for the bad. I'd gone with my spouse after they had been raving about how delicious the pizza was our whole trip. So we go, we get a simple cheese pizza, some parmesan fries, and the worst decision the fried cinnamon dough. The pizza, meh. It had an odd taste to it. The sauce and the cheese just didn't go together. The fries were so so, a good size portion but just average. The fried dough however was inedible. I was expecting more of a funnel cake type consistency based on the menu and it was just hard shells of dough with minimal spices on it. Total waste of money. My family walked in tonight and a blonde bartender, maybe about 35 if I had to guess? Looked at us and said "What?!" So very rude. We just flew in from Texas and were super hungry so I just said table for 4 do we seat ourselves? And she said, "No she'll be back up in a minute." in the same tone. A lady walks up and says you can sit anywhere. So we head for the patio and she says no not there. This was 4:05 and the sign on the patio door said it was closed until 4. I assume it was a private party that wasn't done yet. We chose a booth while she gets a menu and we look around and there's trash and food all over the floor. If you can't keep what the public can see clean, it's hard to trust what we can't see will be clean. We decided to leave. Not sure who the bartender is but that's an awful way to great someone. This was the first restaurant we walked in in Boston so not the best first impression. The offer for free chicken wings here on yelp was enticing. I remember the "old" brown jug very well. I made the mistake of checking in and writing a quick review based on my memory not the present. Although there really was no free chicken wing offer on yelp I ordered a portion of 6 and paid higher than your brown jug website. I also paid more for the pizza than the web price, brown jug not a delivery website. I came into the restaurant and paid cash for my order. Your staff reports they are in the process of changing prices on the web, well, change them. The chicken wings for 10.00 went directly into the trash. The were dried out and tasteless and hard. The portion was questionable. Three plump part of the wing followed by three tip to the joint wings. We like consistency on wing orders, feels like you are cutting corners. The brown jug special pizza was ok. That costs 20. It's too much for the size. I live someplace where there are places on every corner that sell pizza. This is sub par for the 20, approx. 14 inches, it was ok. The young woman was polite and did her job getting the order and collecting the money, before and after she was texting/swiping on her phone w friends, wasn't sure if she was a customer or staff. Yes the Brown Jug is still around. It's located behind McDonalds in the far corner of Parkway Plaza. The Atmosphere is still reminiscent of days gone by with the TVs blaring the beer is pouring off tap in the middle of pizza deep into the walls. If anyone remembers the old days and Chelsea when the jog was off the parkway this location has a little bit different feeling but still has the same booths. The beers come out cold the drinks are not water down and the pizza is thin crust never a bad one. Great place to hang out at night also a great place to bring the family for a night out for pizza it fits every situation give it a try. read more

Horrible horrendous service! This is our go to pizza place and unfortunately because of tonight I will never order from them again. I have been coming to the brown jug since I was a little girl. I ordered delivery tonight through the slice app at 7:08pm. Once it arrived we realized our order came incorrectly. We ordered a pizza with extra cheese and half pepperoni as our guest does not eat meat. I contacted the slice app to let them know about the mix up and they stated that the brown jug was sorry and would send over a replacement pizza right away. Perfect. No problem. At 8:52 I contacted slice again to get a refund on the pizza as it had been almost an hour since receiving the wrong pizza. So, almost two hours in total after originally ordering. They advised me that the restaurant refused to issue me a refund on the pizza as they already made the replacement and the driver was on the way. I explained I no longer wanted the pizza but they still refused to refund me after their mistake. I explained that I will not be taking the pizza as their customer service was horrendous and I couldn't believe they would treat a long standing customer this way. The delivery driver showed up at approximately 9:35 and left the pizza at my front door even though I had already advised the restaurant I didn't want it any longer. You think if you mess up a customers food with dietary restrictions that they would be on the top of your priority list and not have to wait 2.5 hours for their correct food. Ridiculous. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with an establishment. Definitely do not recommend. read more

I've been coming here since I was a little girl at the old location. The pizza is always hot and fresh. some of the thinnest crust around, always crispy (we order well done). The service is fine and the prices are very fair. There's also a parking lot which is helpful. Inside is old wooden tables the bar side is fun. Good spot to watch a game and have a pizza. read more

Came here for drinks and fried zucchini after a long day at work. Our server was Cassandra. She was excellent. She greeted us at the door and asked where we wanted to sit. We decided to sit on the patio. We asked if it was buggy and she said she could light some citronella candles for us. She did, and also told us about the citronella plant on the patio! She was very attentive and an absolute gem. It was a pleasure talking to her. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience! The place itself is kind of gross. The tables felt sticky and everything was dated. The service was extremely slow during a time when there was barely anyone there. The waitress kept walking past and not stopping to take our order. We had to wave her down every time we needed anything because she never stopped at the table. The food was just meh. The pizza came out pretty cold. I ordered a calzone and usually they come with a side of marinara or something, but not this one. I planned a reunion with my co-workers from the the now closed stop and shop Everett store I originally booked a reservation with floramos in Malden but they cancelled stating that they couldn't accommodate a party of 15. Just went here for the first time. The environment was not what I was expecting. It has a very home like environment. The waitress is really nice, and the gentleman that brought out the pizza was very kind as well. The Pizza is a bit greasy, but if it's not something you're having often, you should be okay. They have a variety of regular pizzas, and gourmet pizza. We ordered a Pepperoni pizza, and a Scampi pizza from the gourmet side. The Scampi pizza did not dissapoint. It was the most amazing pizza I've ever had. The Pepperoni one was more greasy than the Scampi, but it was also great. I will definitely be coming back to try more gourmet pizzas. The only thing I found bad was the taste of the water and the soda. Maybe it's the glasses they are on, they smelled a little bit weird. My family and I have been long time customers of the Brown Jug for a long time, since they were at their previous location. We love the staff and enjoy the local environment but their take out is terrible. If you want to enjoy their food and drinks, eat in at the restaurant, don't get take out. There's a 98% chance they'll mess your order up and the quality is drastically different than eating in. The attached pictures are Buffalo chicken tenders I received (barely any Buffalo sauce and no blue cheese-even though it was specifically requested), "seasoned" fries (no seasoning at all and of course missing the sauce requested for dipping) and also, the 2L. Pepsi was warm. We called directly in to the restaurant to order and picked up ourselves - so a 3rd party delivery service can't be blamed. We're not sure why the take out is so different, but this has been the case for us the last few times we got take out and were disappointed because we know they can do better. read more
