I'm originally from New Jersey, so I know great pizza and honestly, when I came here with a business associate, I was not expecting the pizza to be as good as it was. Great place located in a neighborhood mixed with businesses and homes. I had baked spaghetti, which I had never had before. It had a layer of baked cheese on top. I ate it all, even though I was full. Their garlic bread sticks are fantastic. They're brushed with butter and baked with garlic salt. I had a mixed green salad, which was one of the freshest salads I've had. Our friends had pizza, and barbecue chicken wings. If you're ever in Seymour, Indiana, this is a great place to visit. If you're cruising i-65, it's worth your time to get off the interstate and treat yourself. read more

Thankful to have a good pizza spot on the east end of Seymour. Very convenient for takeout, but have also eaten inside too. There is a 21+ only side with a bar and also a family room, which is where you place your order at the counter. Paper plates and silverware make for a casual dining experience and easy cleanup. Owner and staff is very nice & personable. They also have a spot for outdoor music. I love this place EXCEPT for the canned mushrooms. You can ask for fresh mushrooms, but why bother because half the time either the server/bartender doesn't hear you or the kitchen screws it up. I wish they would just get rid of the canned mushrooms and raise prices. Other than that, this place is one of my favorites in the area, including Madison and Scottsburg. Be sure and double check the hours. Like any small business, the hours change frequently. Great pizza (except those mushrooms) and great beer! Live music often. read more

I came across this place while in town for the IHSAA 4A Sectional. Really close to the high school which makes it convenient for post game. You order and pay at the counter and they bring the food out to you. I was pleasantly surprised with the quickness the pie was brought to us. The pie was thicker than I anticipated, even though we ordered the thin. I'm not sure if it was, but the crust reminded me of a cornmeal crust, which is a great thing! The sauce was very good and the toppings were plentiful. My only negative is that all they had as fountain drinks were coke and Diet Coke, the rest were bottled drinks. If I lived in Seymour, I would visit the Brooklyn Pizza Co. a whole lot more often. You get such a cool vibe from the place from the moment you step inside. There's a family side and a bar side (that is getting larger with some recent construction). A plethora of artwork showcasing local buildings and landmarks line the walls (most from local artist / shop owner Kevin Greene) which give it a "connected community" feel. I particularly liked the fenced in outside sitting area that faces the street out front. On the side of the restaurant is a stage on an empty grass lot where local bands will play on the weekends all summer long. Lastly, I have to mention the sole unisex bathroom . . . it was hip (with album covers on the walls) and clean. I judge a lot of restaurants on how their bathroom looks, smells, etc. A+ on the WC. The bread sticks and pizza were excellent (especially compared to the local chain competition). Some locals say it's the best pizza in town. The locally brewed beer (next door) by seasoned brewer Ritch Mettert of The Seymour Brewing Co. was fantastic. The Oatmeal Stout was malty with hints of chocolate but not heavy like some stouts can be. Very drinkable and not too filling. The owner (Shawn Malone) came out on the patio to say "Hi" to our group and thanked us for stopping by. I like that. I REALLY like that. They deliver to the hotel, which was nice, and the prices were decent. I had the stromboli and the Schmiddty. Both were good enough to eat, but they were delivered a little beat up after being wrapped in foil. The quality of the food and craft beer at Brooklyn Pizza is excellent. The atmosphere and staff is wonderful with excellent service. They take pride in everything that they do and it shows. They use premium ingredients and the proof is in the taste. Unfortunately after you get used to eating Brooklyn Pizza other competitors will taste bland, especially due to the blend of cheeses used at BPC. It is one of my favorite places!!! I was in the mood for pizza while in Seymore Indiana and a few locals told me Brooklyn Pizza was the best in town. The restaurant is pretty small although I didn't look in the bar area which is separate and designated 21+. The spinach and ricotta calzone was delicious and even without it having any meat I was plenty full from it. Tip: the paper they serve the calzones on gets wet and starts shredding onto your food. Here's the thing: this place makes a tasty pie, mainly because they have their pizza crust squared away. Their pies manage to be thin-ish, yet still soft and nom-lishisly toothy. Their sauce is nothing special, nor is the cheese blend or toppings (though they're not bad - they're just not exceptional), but overall, their pizzas are head and shoulders above those from the usual suspects. Specialty pies aren't exactly special. And it's not cheap, though it's certainly competitive with other independent pizza makers. Location is in a mostly residential neighborhood in Seymour proper (not out by the interstate), and (at least if you're coming from the I65 side of town) a trip across badly graded and un-gated railroad tracks (yep, in the middle of a residential neighborhood). There is a fair amount of parking in the area, though it's not marked that one won't be towed. The dining area is very small and no frills - this is really more of a take-away place. And then only if you live nearby. The crust on a fresh cooked pie can't withstand more than about a 20 minute drive-time - just an fyi. Next time, I may ask whether they will do partially cooked pizzas for take-away for this reason...but when I'm local, their pizza is worth it. read more

We stopped on our way to TN. I'm glad we made the little detour off 65. They had a large pizza and breadsticks meal going on, so that's what we got. The breadsticks were awesome and I think my son would have tackled us for another, thankfully the order is a fairly large one with more than enough to go around! Our pizza was 1/2 pep, 1/2 sausage and bacon. The crust is thin but chewy, which is how I prefer it. The sauce was on point. It had flavor but it wasn't overwhelming and went nicely with the crust. Of course the pep side was nice and full of grease but that's typically what you get with pepperoni. Inside, well, there isn't much going on here. Some memorabilia and a tv, which happened to have cupcake wars on. (Which made the kid extremely happy!) The people working were all nice with the limited interaction we had with them.
