Delish Calamari and yummy cocktails !

This is a local staple ! I have gone here for years. A constant is feeling welcomed. Over the years Rhonda, the bartender + extraordinaire, has been a stand out and truly the heart of the pub. If you want friendly service and a comfortable feel... stop in and support this local business. They have revamped the menu. We tried the calamari... DELISH!!!!!

On this #Pride Sunday instead of heading to Gotham for the festivities, my partner and I went westward to visit family members in Bangor known as part of PA's slate belt. Their historic downtown contains a variety of architectural styles built between 1890 and 1910. The Broadway Pub is located on the ground floor of the old Colonial Hotel where we came here for brunch. Upon arrival, one can notice the high tin ceiling and antique belt driven fans. They also have a back room just renovated for meetings and social events. There were a few patrons enjoying their meal while watching NASCAR. Our server was Kelsie who was friendly and attentive. We ordered the banana foster pancakes, short ribs potato hash with eggs, ultimate grilled cheese ( Swiss, Cheddar, American and Pepper Jack), breakfast burger (1/2 burger, Swiss, bacon on top of fried egg) and 2 eggs, bacon, home fries with sourdough toast. The portions came out warm, tasty, huge portions with no complaints. The price was very reasonable. Service was quick and reliable. If you are in the area, please give this place a try.

What a great hidden gem! Right in historic downtown Bangor. The building is rustic and unique but their food menu and cocktail list were surely impressive. Something on the menu for everyone in our group. Live entertainment every Friday and Saturday plus trivia, music bingo and open mic night throughout the week. Atmosphere is cozy and inviting and the staff is always friendly, polite and knowledgeable. Kudos to the staff of BROADWAY PUB. Will be returning!!

Went to grab a bite here after visiting a local winery. Food was okay but nothing to brag about. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She recommended drinks which were good but overpriced for the location and setting ($10+ each). Looks like an old western saloon and the bar was long and cool looking too. Definitely just a local spot to grab a bite to eat and drink at the bar while watching "the game". Would I return? Probably not.

Often, there were restrictions in place that would limit how much one could drink on a given day. In our modern day, the "pub" is a place in which the sole purpose is to have a drink, maybe eat a burger, possibly play some pool, and generally hang out with friends and/or acquaintances. Situated at the intersection of five roads in Mount Bethel, PA, seems fitting for this establishment, as my partner and I passed by numerous times on our way to visit family members and decided to stop here as first-timers for lunch. Five Points Grills and Pub is a small-town restaurant offering comfort food with happy hours, plus live music. Upon arrival inside at the bar, my partner, his family, and I were greeted by the staff and got a table immediately by the window at one of the dining areas. The interior was casual and inviting, with festive loud music being played throughout while watching several football games on their TVs at the bar. Outside dining is available, weather permitting. Their menu features two full pages with good options and a separate page of specials. We decided on two sets of 10 wings with 2 sauces out of 16 sauces, a grilled cheese sandwich, a grilled chicken sandwich, sweet potato fries, a Caesar salad, a house salad, and potato soup. The food was delicious and in very healthy portions. The service was quick and accurate. Our server, Olivia, was friendly and funny. If you are ever in PA, stop in and check this place out.

Afterwards, having fallen in love with the small town vibe, I decided to look for a sandwich shoppe. Curiosity and the beauty of German engineering got the best of me so I took a country drive out of town (and across state lines!) to PA. Opened Yelp and found this brewery just 5 miles down the road. Another thing about me: I'm my own best company - love a solo date. Done deal. The menu was gas! Bacon jam fries?? Apple butter wings?!?!? A beer list to die for?? Friends, I ate and drank bigly. Food: Fantastic. Yall know my thoughts on breweries with no food. This place can stand on its own as a restaurant without a liquor license. Seating: Tables, steel bar stools, indoor, outdoor, picnic tables - everything for everyone. Service: warm, friendly, attentive, helpful. Servers and barkeeps steered me right with each item I ordered. Space: It's gorgeous! Empty grain silos, vaulted and beam ceilings, a farm, taproom. So warm and cozy this time of year. It's a good hour+ from my house but when I tell you I will be back and bringing friends, I mean it. What a find! And btw it was the previous Yelp reviews that sold me so yall keep it up and tell us about it if you find a good spot.

The inside has dark colors, but brightened a bit by the sunlight coming through the outer wall windows. I liked the wooden barrel lights over the bar, barrel wall sconces by the booths and the small bikes made out of pipes with Edison bulbs in them that hang over the front tables. The interior had exposed brick on the outer wall, brown painted patterned ceiling tiles and a gorgeous long antique wooden bar. We sat in one of the cushioned booths in the back. Their menu is small and simple with about ten apps and six handhelds. They have some uncommon menu items that peaked our interest like Goat Birria Tacos, Sloppy Joe's and Mahi Sliders. My wife and son ordered the Sloppy Joe's at $8 that came with seasoned beef and their "House Sloppy Sauce". They both enjoyed them and said the seasoning was good and sauce had a bit of a sweetness. My youngest son had a plain chicken wrap $13 bacon, ranch, LT and Cheddar Jack. It was sizeable and fresh. We ended up splitting it up later for an app before dinner so its shareable if you have a smaller stomach. Kyle recommended their Smash Burger - Smashed Crispy Beef Patty, Cheese, LTO $13. It was average and there was nothing bad to say about it. I enjoyed a Mosier's Mosaic IPA by ShawneeCraft with it. They have a small house cocktail list and their tap list is small, but they do have some craft offerings and cans/bottles. The kids watched sports on a couple of the several TV's around the bar and we had a nice relaxing lunch. I'd stop in again if in the area. Thanks Kyle!
