The owner, Julia is great and she'll let you try on as many dresses as you want. The shop is closed just for your appointment so make sure you book in advance! I probably tried on about 10 different dresses and they're very careful with each one explaining the details. They also let you take as many photos as you want to, which some shops don't let you! I spent about an hour in there discussing which dresses I liked and how much they are and think about the cost of veils/hair decoration etc I would highly recommend this place especially if you're in love with the designers like I am!

She was able to advise where to get shoes that were very elegant but also comfortable and has since offered the services of a colleague who is going to dye them. The shop also sells restored antique/old fashioned jewellery and a beautiful necklace completed the outfit. Yes, there is a café across the road but we had just come from having coffee and didn't wish to go again. When we were eventually let back in to the shop, the guy who sits in the front window was not welcoming at all and didn't introduce himself. We were not offered a drink (even just water), the woman who worked there didn't introduce herself and didn't ask any questions about the wedding. She was extremely rude and dismissive of any comments or questions I made that in the end I just kept my mouth shut for fear of being scolded like a child. Shopping for a wedding dress with your girlfriend should be an exciting and fun experience but this was just anxiety provoking and in a city like London where wedding dress shops are a dime a dozen, good service is of the up most importance. A few of my other friends are getting married and I will certainly not be returning to Tantrums and Tiaras with them after the way we were treated.

One of my bridesmaids arrived first and was ignored for at least five minutes. Then she found out they had me down for the wrong appointment time, even though they had the email where I had specified the correct time! When I arrived, not long after, we were sent upstairs and ignored for the rest of our time there. In addition, they had a meager selection of bridesmaid dresses in both Alfred Angelo or Mori Lee, which were the two I was looking at. Maybe I was just unlucky that day, but I'll certainly have my bridesmaids get their dresses elsewhere!

Although I attended regular 'fittings' (none of the outfits you choose to be tailored are in the store after you purchase them, as the business claims they are in India being adjusted), so measurements were taken. My shape and size changed over the months due to pregnancy, and despite my concerns and suggestions, the manager was dismissive and patronising, each time telling me 'don't worry, trust me' and to believe that the outfit would fit. 10 days before my wedding, I received a call from the manager confirming my worst fears that the outfit not only did not fit, but was 8-10inches too small at the waist. I was flabbergasted, as it seemed the regular measurements were a waste of time, and I felt I had been deceived/ cheated. As you can imagine so close to my wedding, I was devastated and stressed, as I had to find another outfit in such a short space of time. This is the worst experience any bride could imagine and to avoid this experience, go elsewhere - Mongas is fantastic.
