We had a great time at the Brickyard. Not a place we initially intended to go to until we found out a friend of ours was playing there. We got there around 10ish and it wasn't too busy yet so we were able to get seats at the bar. Service was fast and friendly. Drink prices were about what to expect for a music venue with bands playing. It did get very busy as the evening went on but the vibe stayed upbeat, I never felt like I was overcrowded like in some bars. It was fun! read more

I enjoy this bar a lot for live music. They host a lot of local talent from around the Gulf Coast to play here, and the bartenders are usually so stinkin' friendly! It's nothing to come here and listen to music for several hours and sip some great drinks. They also have patio games out back and pool tables inside near the entrance. Smoking is not permitted inside; if that's your vice, step out back or leave through the front to indulge. Shout-outs to Brennan and Anna (bartenders)! Always smiling, always kind! read more

$10 cover for the most lackluster experience in Mobile (and Haley's is right next door???!)

Yeah, it's dark and super divey, and I like it! Brickyard has a niche in the lineup of businesses on Dauphin and it totally works for them. I've visited twice (Not including the 3rd time I came back to stalk the mural-- more on that later) and loved the live music. As a craft cocktail girl-- I can only deal with Angry Orchard or a random wine here for drink options, but I won't hold it against them as I don't come here for the cocktails. The service is pretty good as I don't recall a wait for drinks, even when the place was teeming with people! Now, what I absolutely LOVE about Brickyard is the uber-cute mural and vines on the wall in the outdoor area in the back. (Yes, I went back during the day to get a proper photo, because that's who I am! I'm here to loved NOT judged... LOL!) DON'T miss it! Cheers! read more

Great dive bar, with live music, plasmas for sports, Grungy 2 stall bathrooms where you'll find residue of powder on the toilet paper roll dispensers. Lol! 0Wonderful outdoor area to lounge about, play a game of corn hole, or simply just enjoy the surround sound system with music playing. Really awesome mural painting as well. Best for your IG photo opps! May I also mention that there is also an out door area for live music as well. Of course a few pool tables, and 2 bars for your drinks. Outdoor/indoor dim lighting, tables and cozy bar stools. Also a dance floor in front of the stage. This place has a really great aesthetic and everything flows really well together. Great set up! This is a cool dive bar with decent drink prices and good service. The biggest downfall of this place to me is the indoor smoking that started off not so bad but by the end of the night had grown intolerable as even the bartenders were smoking by that point. They had a live band that was decent on my last visit and the the back patio is pretty nice when the weather cooperates. If they would just banish smoking to the patio this would be a much nicer place for everybody. read more

This is the perfect dive bar for when the night is ending. Dirty, loud, rude, local, what more could you ask for? Prices are a bit high for what the bartender gives you. It's kind of ironic that the pregnant bartender "suggests you try a new fucking attitude" when she is clearly having mood swings and being hostile even when not spoken to. But the best part about this slum bar is the boxes (cornhole) they have out back. read more

Go to this bar with one of those SARS masks and you might have a good time. The indoor smoking here is worse than fucking Prague. Unbelievable. I cannot fathom how a bar in 2013 would still allow this level of toxicity in its venue. I stopped enduring indoor smoking in American bars for at least the last ten years, until I came to Mobile. Here after just walking in and out, you can sniff your hair and recoil with disgust and anguish. But then of course, the crowd here is a tad trashy as well so what do you expect? I was very surprised by the reviews that are so low. I went in here as it was my first time mobile Alabama. This place is your typical dive bar. It's got a great atmosphere and the locals are friendly. The bartender I think her name was Lilly was very nice. Live music and a back courtyard for smoking. I have to say it's not a 5 star only due to the plastic cups they serve drinks in. But over all great bar! Check it out. read more

Like some recent yelpers I am surprised about the reviews of this place. Ok yes its a bar, yes the bathrooms could be cleaner, yes it could always use something; however, I would put brickyard up against a number of the bars in Mobile. Let me break it down for you... When I think of a bar I start to go through a list of what is important. First question I ask myself is what makes this place fun? This place has that part nailed down, it has a massive back patio which has a couple of corn hole boards, a built in huge connect four game, and some tables and chairs to enjoy these nice Alabama evenings. The bar itself sports live music Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I know what you're thinking, that means cover charge, sometimes yes sometimes no, however the bar has awesome local music and if it charges the cover, the band is totally worth the cover fee. The bar itself is ample in size, plenty of room to stand or sit at the bar or a table. Some of the cooler features of the bar itself are the fake street signs that patrons can purchase and have hung up in the bar. Some people use their last names, some use inside jokes but the bar is literally covered in them. Without much trouble Brickyard check the box of being fun and different. The next thing I want to know is, how are the drinks? The beer is always cold, and they have everything you could want, from Ultra to Bud, Fairhope Craft Brewing to Sweet water. Needless to say they also have a full bar, top shelf to well, Tequila to Whiskey, they have whatever you could want, except ginger ale, but hey thats not a deal breaker for this guy. The drinks have always been good, occasionally strong but never weak. Concurrently, how much are the drinks? The prices are extremely fair a beer is like 3-5 bucks and the well drinks are around 5 bucks. The drinks also check the box. The only downside I have on brickyard is that the bathrooms could use some work. They often don't flush and need some attention and toilet paper or paper towels, however they are definitely not the worse bathrooms in down town! The staff has always been pleasant, a little sassy, completely in a fun way, but never rude and never unwilling to fulfill any reasonable request, even for paper towels. I like Brickyard I think they are a great addition to Dauphin street and Downtown as a whole. A go to spot on a night out for many Mobilians and visitors alike. read more

Came here from Atlanta to see my brother in-laws band. The place was small, but clean and the bar staff was excellent. Tried all the beers on tap and enjoyed each one. Prices were moderate and we felt very safe in the area. Some sort of food would have been a plus. read more

Walked into this bar relatively late night (12:30ish) and ordered two tequila shots. Bar tender tried to over charge me thinking I would not notice and threw the two shots INTO MY FACE when I was questioning the charge. I cannot make this up - an employee of this bar threw each shot, one after the other, directly into my face. He immediately called over his door guy to throw me out while my eyes were still full of tequila. To be clear, I was not rude, drunk, or aggressive in the slightest way. This was the result of a bartender (most likely drunk) believing they have some type of superiority over patrons. Hands down the worst an employee of any business has ever treated me, or anyone else I know for that matter. A little dirty. But we went on Thursday night with $3.50 Abita beer and the service was good because we got there early in the night. They don't have food but you can go next-door to the amazing Mediterranean sandwich company and then bring it over and have a beer with your pita. read more

This place was dead on a Friday night in summer time. Plus way to much money for drinks.

The bar has decent security and service. The bathrooms are always filthy. My main issue is that they can't be bothered to give an itemized receipt. When you ask for an itemized receipt, as any other bar and restaurant would provide, this place gives you a sticky note. No wonder my bill was vastly incorrect. Perhaps they need new financiers to be able to afford Aloha or Micros. Very unprofessional. read more

This place is a joke. The bands they hire are terrible. The drinks are ridiculously expensive. I asked what happened to the place while visiting because the place was formally known as Red`s and it used to be awesome. The weezle tending bar told me that I had to leave instantly. I was shocked. Tried to get my friends who had invited me down for the weekend and he would not allow me to do so. What a JOKE! Terrible place. Avoid at all cost. A shot of Jagermeister was $6.00!! LOL!!
