I posted a review on the parent company of The Brewery Lofts (1301 W Fletcher), but wanted to post a specific review of this location.
The building is actually 2/3 of a city block in length and is comprised of 5 or 6 buildings all meshed together with a hidden parking lot in the middle of it all.
All of the units are different. I came to two different open houses in two different years and never saw the same layout in any of the 21 apartments I viewed. Some have arched brick ceilings, others have fireplaces, some have split-segment rooms (a room split into a first & second floor), some have skylights, etc. All had some form of exposed brick and all have central air and heating.
The building interior is nice and retains it's signature look of all brick walls dating back to when the building used to house Best Brewing Chicago.
Of the several buildings, only one houses the laundry room, mail room, workout room and rooftop decks. The rest of the buildings have outdoor access with their own wooden deck/walkway area. But because the laundry and mailroom is inconvenient for most of the buildings (its not for me, I live in that particular one), I took 1 star off. Walking your laundry or retrieving your mail/pizza delivery from across the parking lot is a pain.
But like I said, the largest of the buildings (6 floors, probably half the available units) is the one with those facilities attached.
The management (mostly Kim Weibring) was helpful and highly responsive via email, usually responding same day and lets us know about important events such as reservations of the rooftop decks, searching for missing packages, or building maintenance.
So far we've had no major issues (a pair of minor repairs in the first month) that have caused any stress.
These apartments are not cheap but the atmosphere, security, features and prompt management seem to justify the price.
I would recommend this complex to anyone wanting an upgrade in quality to your standard boring dry-wall high rise apartment. read more
