This update is long overdue. Lunch service has improved significantly. Food is still fabulous.

It was a smaller store front, cozy and a hidden gem! The restaurant has so much personality, with years of awards proudly displayed throughout the dining room. Before the food even arrived, we knew we had found somewhere special. We started with the Bistro Onion Soup and the Red Pepper Lobster Bisque. French onion soup and lobster bisque are two of my all-time favorites, so my expectations were high. The Bistro Onion Soup absolutely delivered--rich, flavorful broth, perfectly tender onions, and an incredible blanket of melted cheese. Easily one of the best onion soups I've ever had. The Red Pepper Lobster Bisque was equally memorable. The sweetness of the roasted red peppers paired beautifully with the lobster, creating a unique twist that really worked. My husband and older son both ordered the Momma Mia. A spaghetti sandwich? We were intrigued! My son gave it a 9/10 and said it tasted like a lasagna sandwich. He'd order it again without hesitation. My youngest chose Ziggy the Piggy and declared it "the best sandwich I've ever had." That's high praise from a 10-year-old! He gave it a perfect 10/10, and the sandwich was nearly as big as his head. Honestly, reading the menu made us want to come back just to try everything else. Every item sounded delicious. What made the experience even better was the staff. They were warm, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to love what they do. That kind of hospitality is hard to fake, and it made us feel right at home. If you're passing through--or even if you're not--Zuppaman is absolutely worth the stop. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.

It's a big restaurant off of a country road with plenty of parking. As of two weeks ago they were doing work on the highway that was kind of unpleasant with grated roads and lane closures but it looks like it will be done soon maybe.... Anyway, it's a large space with a gift shop and shabby chic decor that all appeared to be for sale since everything has a price tag on it even in the restaurant. The service was pleasant enough. The menu has fairly straightforward cafe like offerings of sandwiches and salads. I wanted something light so I opted for the cesar salad in spite of my reservations when it said tomatoes and olives were on it. Weird but whatever chicken, lettuce, croutons and cesar dressing still felt on brand so I went for it. This is not a cesar salad. It was a salad with balsamic dressing of some kind, toasted bread with the crust cut off and a cold chicken breast. And, it comes with bread but I was told they didn't have rye so I ended up with sourdough that was also not sourdough and the waitperson didn't bring it until I was mostly through eating my refrigerator cold chicken. Just, yikes. Additionally, I still don't know how there was rye for my sister's sandwich but I wasn't allowed to order it with my food. As for her lunch, the pastrami was fine but with a lackluster amount of meat. The French onion soup was the only thing that felt reasonable with quality and price. All in all, I think the snack bars or even grocery stores in the area/ Amish country appeared to have better offerings. I wouldn't recommend this place for lunch. The gift shop was cute and reasonably priced so maybe check it out for that but that's it.

Always delicious and beautiful setting for lunch. Crowded most of the time so make a reservation…read more The French onion soup is great

Their broth is so complex and comforting, the ingredients are always fresh, and the space is well kept. The service staff are attentive and helpful. If you're only getting this for takeout, you're missing out. They make their own chili oil and my husband practically drinks it with his Banh mi. No other Vietnamese spot in Northeast Ohio comes close in my opinion. I live 30 mins away and am already making excuses to come back so I can eat here.

I was in the area at the Lorain Library (main branch), and was craving a cozy meal. Pho Ever had a catchy name and was only a few minutes away (drive). What's more cozy than pho? I made a quick and good decision to visit. AMBIANCE: The restaurant is one open space simple cultural decor. The space well fits groups and single guests. Multiple comfy booths are available along one of the walls and there are plenty of tables. Decor includes Nón Lá (Vietnamese conical hats) around the perimeter of the restaurant, vases and flowers, wood carved rooster art, prosperity wall hanging with laughing Buddhas, and other decor typical of Asian restaurants. There is also a blue sky ceiling fragment. The atmosphere is very simple and casual. The restaurant is not the cleanest. That includes the floor, the bathrooms, the tables, and teapots. Everything could use a deep clean. FOOD/DRINKS: The menu features appetizers, rice plates, vermicelli stir-fry, pho, fried rice, ramen noodles, combination plates, and optional add-ons. Drinks were not on the menu. There are few pictures of the menu items to point you in the right direction. Each dish has alphanumeric value for simple ordering. I noticed that the prices are pretty value-oriented less than many other comparable restaurants. I ordered my default Vietnamese restaurant order - pho, rolls, and hot tea. More specifically, A3 (2 charbroiled pork rolls, $5), A4 (charbroiled chicken rolls, $5), P3 (pho with eye round steak and well-done brisket, $14), and jasmine tea ($2 for a tea pot). Rolls had a generous amount of meat. I loved pork rolls, but didn't like the chicken. I found it to be too dry. I did not use the accompanying sauces since spice is not my favorite. Pho included a large portion, plenty of meat, but the broth had some slightly lemony undertone that wasn't my favorite. Jasmine tea was perfectly hot and light. It was a very comforting meal due to hot tea and hot pho. I also loved that the food was delivered with a pouch with chopsticks, fork, spoon, and big spoon for pho. SERVICE: The service was very pleasant, quick, and accommodating. There was one waiter serving quickly filling dining room. He was excellent and very attentive! I was seated very quickly. My food impressively arrived within minutes. All other guests had all their questions answered with patience. Huge compliments on the service! The restaurant was extremely accommodating to groups. They expeditiously moved tables together for large dinner groups. I was at the restaurant before 6 PM and the restaurant was already almost full with more people pulling into the parking lot. It seems like it's a popular local destination. PARKING: There is plenty of parking available to customers. Dedicated parking lot rather than shared plaza arrangement. My experience was pretty positive. I was especially impressed with the excellent service. It wasn't the best Vietnamese food that I experienced, but pretty good for a casual Sunday meal. While I wouldn't go out of my way to travel here, I'd definitely stop in while in the area.

Con's: one of the soups I got was the roasted red pepper and cheddar. Though it had good flavor, I didn't taste much cheddar and found the soup to be kind of oily. The second soup I got was the potatoes, spinach, and Swiss.. this one was probably my least favorite. I felt like it was lacking flavor. Pros: the third soup I got was the wild mushroom soup if you like mushrooms, I highly recommend it was very delicious. I would definitely get this one again. Also, the bread that they give you it was so fluffy and soft that even with my dental work, I was able to eat it overall because I know they rotate soups. I will definitely try this place again.

But last week I was driving by and popped in to get two classic soups: cream of mushroom and chicken paprikas. Oh my goodness, oh my gosh. I think I could have either of these soups every day for the rest of my life and be fully content. Now, the place isn't very attractive and there is an odd maybe they sprayed for pests smell when you walk in, both of which is something I normally can't overlook, however, the service is quick and impeccable. Not only do you get soup, but you get the most delicious fresh bread and oyster, crackers, and butter if you want. And because the soup is so rich and creamy a 12 ounce serving will last a couple days. I love this place and truly believe that if they had a backer they could and should sell their soups nationwide. It's the best I've ever tasted.
