Don't walk away!!! You might look at the store front and think - is this the place?? Well it is!!! So walk on in, note the hodgepodge of tables, chairs, decor and take a seat!! It's a small place and super cute. The service is friendly and hardworking! They were always on the go. The place was packed and they kept busy. The menu had a nice assortment of food!! It was reasonably priced too. Our party enjoyed the food and we would return for another meal. So if you are in the Santee area and looking for a fun dining experience with good food and atmosphere, I'm going to tell you to give this place a shot. Some major changes have been made: The Breakfast Nook has relocated; it's now inside the Rodeway Inn! We couldn't find it at first using Google maps, so we called the restaurant's number (on Yelp) and learned about the new location. All the old photos no longer apply. Service was lovely; we had a very friendly server. The ambience of the place is generic hotel-restaurant, but the breakfasts were delicious, and had that comfort-food vibe. Driving North on I 95, this was the best restaurant on Yelp between Charleston and Dillion I could find on a Sunday mid morning (Cracker Barrel at the same exit was the contingency plan). The exterior, wedged in a strip mall adjacent to a gas station, was a little hard to spot having never been in this area before but nonetheless found. Service was over the top prompt and pleasant, food (as pictured) was excellent and we got out for under $25, including tip. I have to admit, everything I saw being served to other diners looked fantastic and I hope to find myself here again to gorge on one of those burgers. read more

I hate doing negative reviews- so I usually don't... I love giving great reviews- and this is one of them. Stopping on the Santee exit off 95 can be dicey. The Breakfast Nook gets it right. It's a down home place, kitschy with simple furnishings and friendly staff. Everything is clean even if it isn't fancy... charm it has! We ordered a burger with fries and a breakfast sandwich. Fresh bread, fresh made Patty, fresh made onion rings... none of it was frozen. The price was super reasonable and the service was super fast and friendly. Hidden Treasure!... delightful... seriously great food. Love the charming ambiance I definitely recommend for the whole family ! Chris is an awesome host. The menu is full of great choices. The French toast was superb... it was light and sweet & tasty. The bbq quesadilla was unique & flavorful. The corned beef hash was cooked just right. And the classic cheeseburger was excellent. The Breakfast Nook moved to a nearby hotel. It's open 24/7. It no longer feels like grandma's kitchen. Feels like a restaurant in a hotel. Not sure the same folks own/operate it. Service certainly isn't as good or friendly. Last time there, the server appeared to be the hotel owner's teenager-kinda shy & timid. Food is about the same. Plenty of it & inexpensive. I miss the old "Nook"! Too bad Santee doesn't have more reasonably priced breakfast restaurants. read more

We stopped here for breakfast on our way to Myrtle Beach. This is the cute little place that serves good food with good service - the reason you look for places on yelp that are family owned and not the chains you can eat at anywhere. My wife had the mini breakfast with egg's over easy and I had the mini hash breakfast with poached eggs soft - everything was cooked perfectly. BTW - they are now open till 8:00pm so you can enjoy them all day. read more

The food was average. Everything was average except that I ate there 7 times in 6 weeks, I ordered the same thing every time and was charged 6 different prices ranging from $5.80 to $11.20. I had the receipts. They blamed it on the computer and did little to make things right. I paid , tipped and left. Never again. I'm back to the Cracker Barrel on the same exit. read more

Bacon cheesburger...how do you mess it up so badly? Burnt and charred bun, burger well over cooked to the point of a hockey puck. Waitress (can't even tell you her name) never checked back to ask if everything was OK or even refill my Diet Coke. Atmosphere is dark and dull and the carpet is nasty. Good thing they had a QR code table tent so I could pay because I never saw her again. Wrapped that burger up in my only napkin and left. Perhaps my dog might eat it? read more

Don't let the outside fool you! This place is a gem! Cozy & Delicious with friendly staff (thanks Kelly!). The breakfast was perfect. I had the big grits breakfast plate with perfect over medium eggs (so hard to find!!). They surprised my 6 year old daughter with an awesome Mickey Mouse pancake that was fluffy, golden, and perfect. Sausage patty was good, bacon was cooked perfectly, crispy but not over cooked, one of us had the bacon egg and cheese biscuit and the biscuit was fluffy and golden. Awful food and terrible service. we waited for 45 min after placing an order and the server came out to tell us that they ran out of biscuits and gravy. At that point, we waited for so long that we ordered bagel and Pancakes to substitute with that order. when the food came out, the eggs weren't cooked, hash brown was soggy and uncooked and no seasoning whatsoever.
