The double cowboy burger with Swiss cheese and bacon was a winning combo.

The Brazen Bull is worth the effort to find and a perfect stop halfway between KC and Denver. We stopped for lunch and the service was fast and friendly. The salsa and ranch are home made and were a perfect compliment to the hand cut fries. The double cowboy burger with Swiss cheese and bacon was a winning combo. Highly recommend for anyone on their next road trip!!

I stopped and off the interstate for a quick lunch. I was so glad I did. I was greeted with amazing customer service, if you're as lucky as me you'll get to meet Whitney too. All the staff was super friendly and my salad and jalapeño poppers were delicious. This will be my go to spot in western Kansas.

This place is a hidden gem. We stopped here on a Saturday night because it was next door to the KOA. From the outside, this place did not look like much, but we decided to give it a go. They have a full bar as well as an exceptional choice of domestic and local beers both on draft or in the bottle. They offer pitchers of drafts, which is nice if you and your spouse are both drinking the same thing. The menu has a great selection of appetizers to choose from. We decided to go with the foot tower of onion rings. These were hot & crispy and came with a homemade horseradish sauce that was excellent. The sides that they offered for the sandwiches and entrees was better than the norm, and all of the food was fresh and hot. This menu definitely has something for everyone. Our waitress was excellent and attentive even though they were close to closing time when we came in. I would definitely recommend you giving this place a shot if traveling through!

Restaurant employees were super nice. Called 15 minutes before closing and made a to-go order. Made a drink for me while I waited. Glad I went here rather than some else in town.

Oh man what a place for some Awesome food. Traveling East towards St Louis I found this gem on my iPhone. I picked the A1 Burger ( awesome by the way ) and the jalapeño's that are fire grilled ( must get ) that we're dynamite. My sons & I recently made a trip from CO to the East Coast & on the drive home, we made an unexpected decision to stay in WaKeeney, KS. After checking into our hotel, we decided after checking local restaurant information to try this place out. Super easy to get to, directly off of Interstate 70W. It appeared they opened for dinner at 5 & we arrived about 5:30. There were already several people dining, so I was excited to see what they had to offer. We were advised to sit where we like & within a few minutes we had menus, silverware & had given the our drink orders. I decided on the A-1 Angus Burger with waffle fries. My sons both decided on popcorn shrimp with regular fries. We also got a Bucket O' Curds (cheese curds). The cheese curds were brought out with a side of ranch that tasted homemade, super creamy & delicious. They were crispy on the outside & super gooey. Quite perfect. Our meals arrived shortly thereafter & I was very excited to dive into this burger. I had asked for no lettuce or tomato & it came out just as requested. The burger patty was seasoned very well, had plenty of cheese (American & Swiss), a great amount of bacon, crispy onions & A-1. They placed my pickles & onions on the side. I enjoyed this burger so much. All of the flavors were complimentary & the fries just completed the meal. My sons both advised the popcorn shrimp was good & they loved the cocktail sauce! Loved the decor, the atmosphere & the kind, attentive staff. We will definitely return anytime we are passing through!!! Thanks for a great experience!!

The service matches the atmosphere perfectly: friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to help you navigate their creative menu. The food here is where things really take off. The steak & blue cheese salad was outstanding--fresh, bold, and packed with flavor. The ahi tuna poke nachos were another knockout, the kind of dish you keep thinking about long after you leave. And if you're a burger person, this place is dangerous in the best way. Their burgers are consistently amazing: juicy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Of course, you can't come to Gella's without enjoying their great beer, brewed right on site. Every pint feels like it was crafted to pair perfectly with the food. If you're in Hays, Gella's is a must‑visit. Creative dishes, great beer, beautiful space, and service that makes you feel right at home. An easy five stars.

Nbd wasn't stressed at that point because the bartender was super busy. I work in food service I get that.. Then the rest of the food came out and we were never checked on again for the next 20 minutes while we ate. Would have loved to bring up the fact that this chicken wing was completely RAW.. put it out by the card just waiting for the bartender to notice us/the chicken wing and she never did so we just paid and left. Hoping we don't get sick. The rest of the wings were cooked we just so happened to bust into to this one last.. Again I get it if you're absolutely slammed but just felt like we were getting completely ignored for no reason. We were polite so not sure what the deal was.

I'll be honest: Russell, Kansas, was not on my mental map of places to eat well. But fate (and…read moreYelp) intervened. Suddenly we were pushing open the door to Waudby's entering, notably, through the bar side, which felt charmingly unpretentious in a you-wouldn't-get-this-in-Manhattan sort of way. The space splits cleanly between lively bar energy and a quieter, separate dining room, which I deeply appreciated after hours on the road and approximately twelve internal monologues. Then, the food. Genuinely outstanding. I ordered the Philly, fully expecting road-trip decent, and instead received something delightful, indulgent, and as good as versions I've had in Pennsylvania neighborhoods where people argue loudly over sandwiches. But the true sleeper hit? The cornballs. Please, I beg you, do not pass on them. They are crispy, nostalgic, and perfect. The kind of globs of fried bliss you'll still be thinking about once you're home pretending to only eat salads. Waudby's is proof excellent food exists far beyond city zips, and I would absolutely return. If I find myself in Russell again, this is a mandatory stop. The waitress and servers were absolute sweeties. My friend adds: the homemade ranch dressing was so good, you could almost drink it.
