Glad we stopped in. Was going to order a chicken fried steak, but they were out of both mashed potatoes and gravy (or don't serve them on Tuesdays - not sure). So, it being Taco Tuesday, I ordered the Mega Nacho Supreme, and it was good. My wife had the Brazen Bull Cheese Steak sandwich and felt that it was too salty. My boyfriend and I stopped on our way through on a cross country road trip. So glad we had dinner at this local spot! Everyone was super nice and the food was excellent! The portions were generous and the price was very reasonable. We were a little worried when we pulled up because from the exterior it looked pretty small and with it being a Friday night the parking lot looked packed, but there's tons of seating inside and we were attended to quickly. The Brazen Bull is worth the effort to find and a perfect stop halfway between KC and Denver. We stopped for lunch and the service was fast and friendly. The salsa and ranch are home made and were a perfect compliment to the hand cut fries. The double cowboy burger with Swiss cheese and bacon was a winning combo. I stopped and off the interstate for a quick lunch. I was so glad I did. I was greeted with amazing customer service, if you're as lucky as me you'll get to meet Whitney too. All the staff was super friendly and my salad and jalapeño poppers were delicious. This will be my go to spot in western Kansas. read more

This place is a hidden gem. We stopped here on a Saturday night because it was next door to the KOA. From the outside, this place did not look like much, but we decided to give it a go. They have a full bar as well as an exceptional choice of domestic and local beers both on draft or in the bottle. They offer pitchers of drafts, which is nice if you and your spouse are both drinking the same thing. The menu has a great selection of appetizers to choose from. We decided to go with the foot tower of onion rings. These were hot & crispy and came with a homemade horseradish sauce that was excellent. The sides that they offered for the sandwiches and entrees was better than the norm, and all of the food was fresh and hot. This menu definitely has something for everyone. Our waitress was excellent and attentive even though they were close to closing time when we came in. I would definitely recommend you giving this place a shot if traveling through! read more

Absolutely delicious!!! We stopped on our way to California from New York, and between the great prices, friendly service, and all around cozy atmosphere this is definitely worth stopping for some good grub. One thing that was a little disappointing but not a deal breaker was the side salad. Too much cheese and not enough of a variety of veggies. I would like to see some more ingredients besides the cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. But as I said the rest of the meal made up for it with all fresh homemade entrees/sides. Worth the stop!!! We stopped on our way to CO, convenient to the highway and close. It is tucked behind a gas station so a little tough to see but we found it. Staff was good and mostly attentive, food slightly better than average. I had the burger with fries, it was fine but not spectacular. Wife had Totchos as it was Mexican night. My sons & I recently made a trip from CO to the East Coast & on the drive home, we made an unexpected decision to stay in WaKeeney, KS. After checking into our hotel, we decided after checking local restaurant information to try this place out. Super easy to get to, directly off of Interstate 70W. It appeared they opened for dinner at 5 & we arrived about 5:30. There were already several people dining, so I was excited to see what they had to offer. We were advised to sit where we like & within a few minutes we had menus, silverware & had given the our drink orders. I decided on the A-1 Angus Burger with waffle fries. My sons both decided on popcorn shrimp with regular fries. We also got a Bucket O' Curds (cheese curds). The cheese curds were brought out with a side of ranch that tasted homemade, super creamy & delicious. They were crispy on the outside & super gooey. Quite perfect. Our meals arrived shortly thereafter & I was very excited to dive into this burger. I had asked for no lettuce or tomato & it came out just as requested. The burger patty was seasoned very well, had plenty of cheese (American & Swiss), a great amount of bacon, crispy onions & A-1. They placed my pickles & onions on the side. I enjoyed this burger so much. All of the flavors were complimentary & the fries just completed the meal. My sons both advised the popcorn shrimp was good & they loved the cocktail sauce! We were traveling along I-70 and preparing ourselves for a stop at McDonald's when my husband saw the sign for The Brazen Bull. We decided to check it out. (If we opened the door and it looked sketchy, or the locals were giving us a stare down, we were going to turn right back around and head to the awful arches across the street.) Thankfully, none of that happened. Seriously, don't let the outside deter you. This place is great. It's clean and has an updated bar and seating area. The staff was super friendly and attentive. My husband had the ribeye. It was a perfectly cooked medium rare. His fries looked and tasted fresh cut. My chicken fried steak appeared and tasted freshly hand battered. We had dinner at the Brazen Bull on our way through town. The Cowboy Burger, Flatiron steak, German potatoes, and Corn Fritters were absolutely amazing. 10/10. The service was also outstanding. It's refreshing to get someone with personality and since we came on a busy Saturday night the staff worked as a team. Also the prices for what you get are reasonable. Traveling through and saw this as an opportunity to eat at a local gem. To be honest, prices seem to be a little high for the quality of food. The chicken fried steak was cubed steak and well cooked. The meat had no flavor left in it and the bottom breading was on bottom because it was nearly burnt. The gravy they smothered it with was watery and tasted like it came from a packet. The Philly potatoes were good, as was the broccoli, the sides definitely out shined the entree. I had high hopes as Chicken Fried Steak is highly acclaimed in this area. Oh well, I can say I ate there, can't say I necessarily liked it or disliked it, just didn't meet expectations. read more

Great Place to eat if your in the area. From the outside we weren't sure but on the inside it was very nice and really clean. The food was all really good and even my picky kids were satisfied. The portions were plenty to fill us up also. The (what I'm pretty sure was the owners) were very nice and friendly and the service was great too. Both were delicious, and they really went the extra mile to make it a great meal. Nice item on the menu: you can buy a round of drinks for the staff for just $8! Came here for lunch on 11/24/17. The restaurant was pretty slow so the service was fast. The portion size was decent for lunch. You don't see Fried Mountain Oysters on very many menus anymore, but they have them here. They were sliced thin and battered and cooked well. I would definitely come back and order again. read more

If you want an evening meal that has Kansas written all over make a stop here at the Brazen Bull. Choices will overwhelm and your taste buds will be not be able to keep up. Think about smoked brisket and ribs and some of the best I have ever had. Everyone says they do good BBQ, BUT THE Brazen Bull leaves the rest behind. P.s. We highly recommend eating here. Everything we have tried has been delicious but more importantly you won't get better service anywhere. You won't want to miss Taco Tuesday. From Crazy Texas Tacos to BBQ bacon chicken tacos it's all delicious and the price is great. Don't forget a tower of crispy onion rings while you enjoy a cold beer. My husband is particular about his onion rings and these are his favorite. We were driving down the highway and got hungry. Saw this place on yelp and the great reviews and thought to try it. We called ahead and they had our order ready to go. The food was delicious. We ordered different burgers and one person ordered the flat steak. We all loved the food. We declared we will stop here every time we pass through. Next time we want to eat in. Mediocre across the board -- service and food alike. We…read morearrived for a late lunch and were seated promptly, but it took a good 10 minutes before we were even given menus or drinks. Once we ordered, food arrived quickly enough. The fries, though, clearly had been sitting out before they hit our table. Staff did replace them with a fresh plate -- appreciated. Still. Maybe there are better options in the Hays area.
