Hidden little bar/dive near "downtown" Colby. I guess I never researched well, but have stayed in Colby dozens of times on business and never found my way here before. Was pretty much all locals, but was a spot at the bar, so I took it. Guy behind the bar was serving drinks and running the grill, but did a fine job. The burger was great. One of best I can remember. Same goes for the onion rings, crispy and well seasoned. Beer was cold, great food and service to keep up. Will be back.

Great place! Stayed in Colby on my way to the east coast and I'm glad I stopped here. Happy Hour is where it's at. $1.25 mug drafts & $2 well drinks. Had a delicious double cheeseburger with fries for around $7. Props to the three ladies who work the grill behind the bar, bartend & serve all the tables in a timely fashion. They even have three pool tables in the back.

Not sure why the locals love this place. I come to town for work and I try new places and this one just does not seem to sit with me to food was not that great and just a small-town bar grill and just I don't know not my I was not a fan of it

    This is it.

Colby, Kansas, March 2026…read more The small restaurant has 10 tables. It It sits on the corner of an antique strip mall. Pretty basic inside the restaurant. The salad bar is located right next to the one and only bathroom. The menu has many sandwiches to choose from. It has fewer entree selections. The waitress was new the night we went. She was nice and extremely helpful. She was an older lady, and I only say that for clarification of the other waitress who had long black hair with ponytail. Tried to get her attention a few times, and even though the restaurant is extremely small, she passed by as if though she did not see us. We ordered the chicken fried steak and the fried chicken. Both came with an ice cream size scoop of mashed potatoes and corn. The potatoes and chicken were covered in a white gravy. The chicken was hot and tender. The mashed potatoes were flavorless as was the gravy. The meals are also accompanied with a roll. Butter is in individual packets on the table. The chicken fried steak was thick and had little breading. It would have been better if it was a thinner pounded steak with more breading as that was more traditional to my liking. When they bring your check, it comes with a warm chocolate chip cookie. Cute idea! The ambience was odd and not welcoming. The location was rather depressing. The food was OK. I would give this place overall 3.5 stars.

Colby, Kansas, March 2026…read more This restaurant is downtown Colby and has street parking that is all free. Inside has very few tables. In the center they have a long table with iced tea, water, plates, silverware, and condiments. You kind of help and serve yourself. There is no wait staff. When you want to order you go to the bar to get your drinks and place your food order. The menu consists of Salad, a few appetizers and pizza and burgers. This place is quite busy for a Thursday night at 7 PM. I ordered boneless wings and cheese bread. My husband ordered a Hawaiian pizza. He had a Coke which comes with free refills and I ordered a dark Porter draft called Frankie. Very light in taste. Undertones of vanilla and sweetness. It was not very cold. So I had to add ice. I did try the pomegranate wheat beer and that was bitter cold. Just the way it should be. The food came quickly. I had eight large boneless chicken wings. I went with barbecue flavor and it was accompanied with large cup of blue cheese. The breading on the chicken was very good. The chicken, however, was extremely tough. Very hard to chew. The small pizza is extremely small. I've seen kids pizzas larger than this. My cheesy bread was not bread at all. It was a small cheese pizza with the sauce served in a cup in the middle of the pizza. The flavor was horrible. It was tough and chewy. The crust was so hard. It really was difficult to eat. There are two dogs, both are labradors. The yellow one is Barley and she is so extremely friendly. The black one is kind, but not ad outgoing. Her name is Maize. I was so excited about coming here. Such great reviews. I hate to be the sour one, but the food here that I tried was not good at all. The beer had good flavor and would have been perfect, if it had been served cold. My suggestion would be for staff to turn the water and tea station to the other side so that when the line at the bar gets long to order, you don't have to apologize for trying to get your drink. Such a simple fix would make a big difference. I also think if they put the T station and condiment station in a different location, they could probably get at least five more tables in the restaurant. As busy as it became, that might be beneficial. I give this three stars.

I got the double mushroom smasher burger, the cracklins, and onion rings, and all were fantastic! The beer is unique and delicious which matches the food. We didn't come because of bathroom ratings, but those reviewers that mentioned the poor bathrooms understated conditions: There was not toilet paper or paper towels. Not good. I had the prime rib sandwich with tater tots. As I said, the tater tots were good. But the prime rib sandwich was much too spicy for my tastes. I ate it anyway because I was hungry. It did have Sriracha sauce so I probably should've avoided it. I love prime rib, but this was just OK. Not a super generous portion, and not something I would order again. My sister had the shrimp taco special and did like them. Shrimp were fried. My dad had a small burger and tater tots and did enjoy it. If you're in Oakley passing through as we were, I would skip this place and go with Sonic for food. Of course the owners / proprietors can't control this, but there was a loud and profane group of 4 young men at the bar (at 1:30 PM, we were there for lunch) who used the F word every third word. That situation normal for many bars. I'm sure. I'm just saying this isn't a place I would bring small children. Two of five stars because of the friendly service.
