Stopped here for lunch while driving through Colorado since it's right off the exit -- big mistake. There's a sign near the counter that says their food is made fresh to order (not fast food), and even the staff warned us that their stove was backed up. I guess we should have believed the warning because we ended up waiting 45 minutes for two entrées with only one family ahead of us. You order at the counter and they bring the food out. The portions were big, but my sizzling pork adobo was bland, and some pieces were dry. The grilled veggies were good, but overall, not worth the stop. If you go, call ahead first. read more

What you will find, a clean, but not large restaurant in small town USA. Order your food at the front-desk / register and receive a number. Food delivered at the table of your choice. The pho pictured in some earlier reviews looks great, but isn't necessarily available every day. The sushi isn't available until dinner. The lunch special was beef lo-mein and it was a plate full & very tasty. The beef was tender and the protein portion was more then fair. Driving through from Tennessee, my husband and I decided to try this restaurant as suggested by the nearby hotel. We weren't too sure as it's a small town and who knows what you get! What a gem! Delicious food, friendly people, even specialty coffees! Well worth the stop off I70! read more

We were looking for dinner while traveling in our RV and Melanie's came up on our route. (Open Wed and Fri). We called to order 20 min before closing and they were more than happy to take an order for pick-up. I asked for suggestions rather than trying to find an online menu and WOW! The the best chicken salad and orange chicken we've ever had - absolutely delicious! Really exceptional quality and service. Again I can't recommend the chicken salad enough, it was loaded with fresh veggies, noodles, and the chicken in each dish was perfectly prepared. We're looking forward to making this a must have dinner stop for future I-70 travel. Thank you! read more

It's open on Wednesday and Friday only so there's lot's of people and orders are also called in for dine in and carry out so be prepared to wait for a few But you won't be disappointed! Melanie's Kitchen is a wonderful place to eat. I have a few favorites. Pancit, Mongolian Beef, and Asian Salad. You can either eat in or carry out. She also has good deserts. The food is so good. She is only open on Wednesdays and Fridays but definitely worth it. read more

We were hungry passing through Kansas and I looked online for food stops a few exits ahead. We like to stop at local eateries instead of chains. Melanie's is open for lunch and dinner in Wed and Fri only and does a brisk take-out business with the locals in Quinter. They have traditional Asian food as well as Thai and maybe even a Mexican dish or two. I tried the Asian salad and it was so good. Trying to cut out fat and eat more plant-based. The Asian salad was served cold, with shredded carrots, red cabbabge and peppers tossed in a delicious vinaigrette, with some noodles and crushed peanuts providing great flavor and texture. It was a LOT of food and I finished it even though I thought I would have leftovers. My husband got mongololian beef and it was delicious as well; a bit of sweet and a bit of heat, tender, flavorful beef, fresh chopped green onions and fluffy white rice. Portion was huge on that one too. After a week in Colorado, we timed our return trip so we would arrive at Melanies when they were open and did it all again. The place is extremely clean and the servers wore masks. Restrooms were spotless and everyone was so friendly. Do yourself a favor and stop here. Very yummy!!! Nothing you would expect in a small town, but definitely worth driving 30+ minutes for! The waitresses take great care of you.
