I guess we should have believed the warning because we ended up waiting 45 minutes for two entrées with only one family ahead of us. You order at the counter and they bring the food out. The portions were big, but my sizzling pork adobo was bland, and some pieces were dry. The grilled veggies were good, but overall, not worth the stop. If you go, call ahead first.

My 92 y/o dad and I came to Kansas for the Ness City Old Settlers' parade from California. He eats biscuits n gravy for breakfast everywhere we go (if they have it) so he considers himself a connoisseur of a sort. The biscuits were fluffy and did have a crunch on the bottom, and the gravy was thhiiiccccc but he gave his breakfast 2 thumbs up. I had eggs, bacon, yummy hash browns, crispy on the outside soft on the inside, and wonderful sourdough bread with homemade strawberry jam. I had to take some with me, there was so much. And Andi said 'sorry' for too much bacon !!!!! lol If we are ever this way again we will be stopping for a meal. Andi was super friendly and I didn't have a problem with the service, she was the only person in the shop. The ambiance was basically a small-town eatery, nothing fancy, but there was nothing to look down at.

We came for dinner and tried multiple things on the menu. The Half Pony is phenomenal and a MUST on the menu. It's a delicious burger smothered in fries and a UNBELIEVABLE queso. The country fry steak was one of the best I've ever had and the onion petals are ones that can rival Outback Steakhouse! The Mac n cheese bowls were another absolute hit! The steak is perfectly seasoned and the Mac n cheese is the perfect blend of flavor and texture. The vibes within the place are so cozy and small town, making it a relaxing environment with some of the friendliest service! 10/10 recommend!
