I was out with some friends and looking to kill some time in the area before a wedding reception. We got a bit hungry and wanted something light to get us buy. The Bowl was nearby and Poké sounded perfect for this moment. I made myself a three protein bowl with marinated salmon, tuna, and spicy yellowtail. The marinated meats rocked, nice chunky pieces full of flavor. The spicy yellowtail was an average blend but still tasty, no spice though. As for toppings I got seaweed salad, pineapple, edamame, jalapeno, and crispy onions. For sauces I went with their house and mango sauce. This bowl was delicious. For the rice I actually got a half and half blend of sushi rice and black rice. My nitpick would be the amount of rice given, I felt like there wasn't enough. The ratio was off by the end of it and was pretty soupy. Solid Poké! I'd eat here again if I was in the area. read more

I didn't even get the chance to order because of how rude the cashier was. My 12-year-old son opened the beverage fridge to look at his options and was immediately scolded with, "Just pick the drink you want and don't play with the fridge doors." When I explained that he was simply reading the labels on the Japanese drinks to decide what he wanted, the cashier responded with, "The glass is see-through." There's absolutely no need to talk to a customer--especially a child--in such a condescending way. We were just trying to decide on a drink, not "play" with anything. Needless to say, we left before ordering. I can't speak to the food because we didn't get that far, but I would strongly encourage the owner to provide better hospitality training for their staff. People come here to enjoy themselves and spend their hard-earned money--not to be treated rudely before even placing an order. read more

Was really craving poke and was happy to find The Bowl near me. Parking is a bit difficult as it is in a busy area with only street parking. I was able to find a spot a block away on the street by the school. The Bowl is a small space with some tables and counter seating for dine in. I did takeout. Build your own with 3 protein. I opted for black rice because I was trying to be healthy haha but prob should have gotten sushi rice to get the full experience for my craving. You can choose up to 4 sides. Masago topping is extra $1 but I was like why not. I feel like my poke bowls aren't complete without them. I opted for spicy salmon, spicy yellowtail and marinated salmon as my 3 proteins. I felt the spicy salmon and yellowtail weren't that spicy but I just went home and added extra spice. Can choose your sauces on the side or mixed into your bowl. Overall everything was pretty fresh and even with black rice my craving was satisfied. My bowl came to around $19 after tax ($1 extra was for the masago so a 3 protein bowl was probably $15.95). Pricey but I feel like that's average for a poke bowl nowadays since they've been around the same place elsewhere. Service was quick and friendly. Glad The Bowl is around for my future poke cravings! The poke bowls were immaculate. I really can't say more. The portions were on point, the fish was super fresh, 4 free toppings, garnishes were free like cilantro, fried onion. The bubble tea ? There's nowhere in Long Island That does it like this place. If you want bubble tea like cocos in queens, u can't find it anywhere in Long Island except here. The taro was SOO yummy. First the owners are the nicest people. They could not be more helpful in helping me decide which bubble tea to try for my first time there. While there I also discovered that they make poke bowls and have ramen noodle dishes. I was also given a sample of some of the fish in the poke bowl and it was delicious. My family and I walked in, and we were greeted by children horsing around in the front. The Asian couple who operates the place couldn't care less whether this is appropriate for a sit-down and eat location or not. We proceeded to order, and guess what? No mango. Again. Seems like this place doesn't stock enough of the ingredients ever, but since you're already placing the order, you have to begrudgingly resign yourself to order without. The bowl is a standard size, as many others on the island are, however, it's 2/3 filled with rice. The guy behind the counter makes no apologies as he fills the bowl with rice and leaves very little room for the ingredients, which are then chosen and dropped in the remaining bowl space with an ice cream scoop. Two scoops leveled not heaping . The problem is everything is chopped into cubes, and cubes leave a lot of space in between them when scrambled and served with a scoop. My wife and son ordered, and my daughter and I passed, together; silently sharing a knowing glance that we were being overcharged for rice and a couple of sides with sauce. Maybe when this opened it was better, but that ended a long time ago if it ever was. The owner got complacent, and now you get what you get and don't get upset apparently, but not only that, the owners have always been ill-mannered and curt, as if they're doing you a favor letting you eat the food that you're paying for. They mostly cater to high schoolers, so maybe they feel that they don't have to be better, but they're failing greatly. My daughter, as a high schooler, stopped here to eat frequently for the convenience, but after a few times of "there's no this or that ingredient" plus the attitude behind the counter, she's done, and I don't blame her. For the prices they charge is mostly taking advantage of the area since there aren't many choices for bowls or many other ethnic food places in Lynbrook however, I'm sure there'll be others coming. We had planned to sit down and eat, but we took our food to go obviously because of the day care situation happening in the eating area, and went to burger shack for my daughter and I. I'd skip stopping by here and drive to the adjacent towns and patronize a local who cares more about the product and the customers, and less about profiteering and child caring. We all work and pay for child care so why not them if it's interfering with the paying customers? When you own a business either way you have to do, and be the best for your customers. So there's definitely a reason why the star rating for this establishment is maxed out to 5 . It's a small place but the quality of the food and customer service is superb. I ordered pork buns and pork belly ramen to go and those pork buns are delicious. The buns were soft and the sauce they put in there were definitely good.
