The hostess and staff were amazing. It's their soft opening this weekend, and we're enjoying the rooftop bar with beautiful views. The food and drinks were great. We came for brunch to celebrate my friend's birthday and had a wonderful time. I definitely recommend this place!

Cute rooftop restaurant. The sitting was comfortable. We were a group of 6 and they accommodated us great. The food was well flavored. I gave them a 3 star because the wait to get the food was more than an hour. When we did get our food my dish was cold. I wish they would had brought my food when it was still warm but they waited until all our dishes were ready.

Place is shiny and new. Looks very chic. We went to Dive for an anniversary lunch 1 day before its Grand opening. The staff was uber friendly and courteous. Courtney was our server and she was great! Even offered to turn on the heaters for us. We tried the sliders, fish taco, and the garbanzo salad. The fries are shaved, unique and delish. Sliders and tacos are good but pretty standard for San Diego. Skip the salad, barely had any flavor. Could use some citrus or vinaigrette to it and salt for additional flavor. Drinks we had the Duchess and Mezcal, both were refreshing. The view from the rooftop was great overlooking the bay and views of the Del across. Suggest having blankets for balmy cool Coronado nights. Otherwise great new hangout spot for Islanders!

We heard about this new spot on Instagram. We came for brunch and to celebrate a friend's birthday. The Dive restaurant is located on the rooftop of The Bower hotel. All the staff there were beyond friendly and helpful. It was a beautiful day! I ordered a mimosa and the Avo Brioche. The avocado toast was good and fresh. The egg was cooked perfectly the way I asked for it - over hard. I feel it was good but could use a little more flavor. I still enjoyed it and was pleased with the amount of avocado. While all the staff were awesome, food took a very long time to come out and the ones in our group that ordered hot food said their food was cold. We still had a good time here.

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed in a professional and friendly way from concierge/manager, Michaela/Mikayla and the valet. This is a new boutique hotel with many, many perks but as with other small-ish, boutique hotels, you're not going to get onsite parking and some other embellishments, as with a large resort (like the older Hotel del across the street). This is about experiences and the vibe and we were there for that! For ex, we knew going in that they have luxurious robes, sheets, mattresses, pillows, in-room pour-over coffee, etc. Those often appeal to couples looking for a luxurious get away and we were not disappointed. One of the pleasant surprises was receiving a high-end, stainless steel, drink container with all day fill-up privileges of: filtered, still water, sparkling water, or hot water. SO MUCH better than getting 2 small plastic water bottles in our room. The room wasn't huge but it was quiet and private with a view of the city of Coronado with a Juliette balcony (no furniture on it). It has 2 shades, one to have privacy, with filtered light, and a black out shade. The products in the room were Le Labo Santal 33 - we LOVE this brand and scent, and we have previously tried the lotion and body wash. We got to try both of those again, and the hand wash, shampoo, and conditioner here at The Bower. We like good product and helped make the world, or at least Coronado Island a better smelling place for a few days! The rooftop restaurant DIVE is super convenient for guests and non-guests with elevator entrances outdoor for visitors and indoors for guests. We ate at Dive at least 4 times during our stay because the food was delicious, coffee great, great views and comfortable seating, and staff attentive and friendly. We had Waygu sliders with fries, Calamari, avo toast, bacon, tator tots, etc. All delicious. We invited a friend to join us for dinner and we weren't rushed, even with a packed rooftop spot. There is one EV charging station onsite by lobby, and our only snag was not being able to charge our new Honda Prologue SUV. But the staff came up with an easy-for-us solution and found nearby EV charging, which they took care of for us. The Bower has both new electric bikes and cruisers with gears for easy riding the beautiful island. They are complimentary and provided with helmets and water. So glad it was easy since it's a small boutique, no hassles to get these bikes. Finally, the lobby and decor is hip without being snobby. Everyone (staff and guests) were friendly without being intrusive. It is right in town across from The Del, which gives you easy access to all the nearby shops and restaurants. We will come back to this hidden, epic, gem very soon as everything about it is easy and generous.

Absolutely Outstanding! From the moment we walked in, it was clear this restaurant runs like a well-oiled machine--and that's all thanks to Rachel, the manager, and her phenomenal team. Rachel's presence is warm, professional, and effortlessly confident. You can tell she leads by example. She checked in with us personally during our visit--not in a rushed or rehearsed way, but with genuine care and hospitality. It's rare to see a manager so hands-on, so invested in both the staff and the guest experience. The entire crew mirrored Rachel's energy--friendly, attentive, and clearly proud of their work. Service was seamless, food came out perfectly timed, and every staff member we interacted with was kind and accommodating. You could tell they respect and enjoy working under Rachel's leadership, and it shows in every detail. In an industry where great service can make or break a night out, Rachel and her crew deliver nothing short of excellence. Can't wait to come back! Fernando & Mia were also very kind!

I treated myself to a spa day and had the pleasure of working with Jeanette, who was fantastic. The spa experience was relaxing, luxurious, and exactly what you'd hope for at a place like this. Of course, I couldn't leave without picking up something super cute from the shop--dangerous in the best way! We spent a lot of time at the pool, which was such a highlight. The service truly made the experience feel VIP from start to finish. Heather (yes, I'm shouting her out again because she deserves it!) was incredible--despite how busy it was, she made ordering effortless, quick, and fun with the best energy. Patrick was also wonderful on another day. You really can't go wrong with the staff here. A fun bonus for our family--my husband is a pilot, so we loved watching the planes flying by from the nearby Naval Air Station North Island. The kiddos were completely entertained and called it their own little "airshow," which was such a unique and memorable touch. We also dined at Nobu Del Coronado. Having been to other Nobu locations like Newport Beach and Chicago, it was interesting to experience this one--it's more boutique and intimate, which made it feel extra special in its own way. All in all, this trip was everything I hoped it would be and more. From the beautiful setting to the incredible staff (Heather, you're the best!), we felt taken care of every step of the way. As other reviewers have commented, it is immaculately clean. Service is very friendly. And it's a low-key, boutique atmosphere conducive to those who are looking for a peaceful, historic place to stay. Check-in was very simple, and we had the option of taking the short set of stairs to our room on the third floor or the historic 1926 Otis elevator, still in operation. We took the elevator, as we had luggage, and alternately chose it and the stairs throughout our stay. Our room was well-appointed, clean, and comfortable. And when I say comfortable, I am referring mainly to the amazing bed--one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Once I fell asleep, I was out like a light until morning each and every night, which I cannot say very often when I travel. Our room had plenty of drawers to use, a small armoire for hanging clothes (which also contains the safe and beverage cooler), and reading lamps above the nightstands on each side of the king-size bed. One chair with a high back was in the corner. Plantation shutters concealed the window, which you can open to let in fresh air because it is nicely screened. The hotel has no balconies, so it is nice to at least have a window you can open. During our stay, you could hear a lot of construction noise from renovations taking place next door as well as the noise from a lot of military aircraft landing at the military base, but none of that took place during sleeping hours. Besides, if you've ever been to Coronado before, you really get used to the military flights, which are more interesting than bothersome most of the time. We're just glad someone is defending the country. :) The bath area had a nice sink and plenty of space on the counter and underneath. The shower was roomy and modern, though the half-length glass wall did allow water to leak out quite easily, as many of these modern configurations do. We took part in the delicious continental breakfast downstairs each morning, took advantage of reading in the comfortable courtyard, and also took in the Friday night wine-down with free wine and charcuterie board. Everything was done so well, and it was nice to chat with a few other guests. Housekeeping was done daily, and two Ghirardelli chocolate squares were generously left each time. Not much to complain about. Very minor things: One morning, the breakfast was refreshed a bit more slowly than usual, but it was completely understandable because only one person was handling that and the front desk at that time. The shower head in our room wasn't working completely right and could have had a little bit better water pressure, but it was no big deal. And the reading lamps were a little loose and also extremely hot to the touch, so just be careful handling them if they've been turned on for any length of time. We never watched the TV (though I did turn it on briefly for a few seconds, and it had a great picture and sound) and never turned on the heat or air since the weather was so temperate. The Wi-Fi worked flawlessly and fast. All in all, a great stay that we truly enjoyed. We didn't qualify for any discount this time around, but the hotel's website does offer some discounts if you book ahead, so I advise you to keep an eye on that. I know that we will!

Our group included roughly 50 athletes and about 20 staff, and during the stay we had packages delivered containing necessary items we needed. The most concerning issue was a $150 "package handling fee" added at checkout. At no point was I informed there would be any fee to receive these packages. It was not mentioned when picking them up, nor was it included on the information sheet outlining other charges. I was later told it exists somewhere online, but if a guest cannot reasonably find it during their stay, that is not transparency. There were also multiple unexpected add on charges throughout the stay. The hotel advertises microwaves as an amenity, yet they are only available as a rental for about $25 per day. This became a real issue given dietary restrictions, and we ultimately had to purchase one ourselves. Other basic conveniences, like court access, also came with added fees, creating a constant sense of being nickel and dimed. For a property that presents itself as upscale, the room conditions did not match expectations. There was visible rust on the bathroom ceiling, the refrigerator was difficult to adjust, and ants repeatedly came through poorly sealed areas in the bathroom. The refrigerators knob was so gouged out I needed to ask help to have it moved from minimal to keep my food in the safe refrigeration zone. Overall, the experience felt less like a premium stay and more like a series of hidden costs. For a company of this size and reputation, that should be concerning. If you stay here, ask about every possible fee upfront, because not everything is clearly disclosed.

It smelled like mildew & mold so bad, on top of cigarettes and hospice. I went to call to ask for a new room and our phone didn't work. I moved the side bedroom table to see if it was plugged in and it was so dirty with bugs and lint balls. I didn't touch the phone again. I called from my cell phone to see about changing our room. She told me I could come the next day and take a look at other rooms that were available, but we were only there for one more night and we had plans with friends that day. The carpet is disgusting. The couch is so dirty. There were brown stains on the sheets of our bed. Every time the cleaning crew would come in, they would open every single window to the fullest to mask the smell. There's not a restaurant here so you have to go get your food and bring it in. There were dead bugs in the utensil drawers. So we used plastic utensils, and paper plates our whole trip. Our room looked nothing like the lobby. A motel 8 would've been better. Even the pool is sad. We were going to cancel our stay and book somewhere else, but we booked through Expedia and it's a nightmare trying to get a refund through them. Otherwise, we would've left after the first day.
