    Cut out shower detail

From the moment you arrive, the Bower feels like a blend of style and intention. There are plenty of photos online, but this one image says it all: the wooden corner shelf inside the shower adds warmth and spa‑like charm, while the ingenious cut‑out in the glass door lets you reach in and start the water without the cold shock of that first spray. It's the kind of thoughtful design you rarely see -- and it makes a lasting impression. Beyond the bathroom brilliance, the valet team is genuinely friendly, and the check‑in process feels tech‑forward and seamless. The vibe throughout the hotel is upbeat and modern, from the lobby to the upper deck of the Dive Bar, where the atmosphere is relaxed yet refined. Every detail here feels intentional -- stylish, functional, and welcoming. Highly recommend the Bower for anyone who appreciates design that's as smart as it is beautiful.

Really cute rooftop restaurant with excellent service, but all of our plates were served cold. There's no parking if you're only looking to eat at the restaurant, and there's no espresso machine, so only drip coffee is served (also lukewarm). I assume the server waited for all of our dishes to be ready at the same time, and that's why they were served cold. Regardless, food is the most important aspect, so when it's served absolutely cold and it's over $20 for mere eggs and potatoes, it doesn't matter how cute the place, or impressive the service is, it loses the good work staff puts in.

The hostess and staff were amazing. It's their soft opening this weekend, and we're enjoying the rooftop bar with beautiful views. The food and drinks were great. We came for brunch to celebrate my friend's birthday and had a wonderful time. I definitely recommend this place!

Cute rooftop restaurant. The sitting was comfortable. We were a group of 6 and they accommodated us great. The food was well flavored. I gave them a 3 star because the wait to get the food was more than an hour. When we did get our food my dish was cold. I wish they would had brought my food when it was still warm but they waited until all our dishes were ready.

Place is shiny and new. Looks very chic. We went to Dive for an anniversary lunch 1 day before its Grand opening. The staff was uber friendly and courteous. Courtney was our server and she was great! Even offered to turn on the heaters for us. We tried the sliders, fish taco, and the garbanzo salad. The fries are shaved, unique and delish. Sliders and tacos are good but pretty standard for San Diego. Skip the salad, barely had any flavor. Could use some citrus or vinaigrette to it and salt for additional flavor. Drinks we had the Duchess and Mezcal, both were refreshing. The view from the rooftop was great overlooking the bay and views of the Del across. Suggest having blankets for balmy cool Coronado nights. Otherwise great new hangout spot for Islanders!

We heard about this new spot on Instagram. We came for brunch and to celebrate a friend's birthday. The Dive restaurant is located on the rooftop of The Bower hotel. All the staff there were beyond friendly and helpful. It was a beautiful day! I ordered a mimosa and the Avo Brioche. The avocado toast was good and fresh. The egg was cooked perfectly the way I asked for it - over hard. I feel it was good but could use a little more flavor. I still enjoyed it and was pleased with the amount of avocado. While all the staff were awesome, food took a very long time to come out and the ones in our group that ordered hot food said their food was cold. We still had a good time here.

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed in a professional and friendly way from concierge/manager, Michaela/Mikayla and the valet. This is a new boutique hotel with many, many perks but as with other small-ish, boutique hotels, you're not going to get onsite parking and some other embellishments, as with a large resort (like the older Hotel del across the street). This is about experiences and the vibe and we were there for that! For ex, we knew going in that they have luxurious robes, sheets, mattresses, pillows, in-room pour-over coffee, etc. Those often appeal to couples looking for a luxurious get away and we were not disappointed. One of the pleasant surprises was receiving a high-end, stainless steel, drink container with all day fill-up privileges of: filtered, still water, sparkling water, or hot water. SO MUCH better than getting 2 small plastic water bottles in our room. The room wasn't huge but it was quiet and private with a view of the city of Coronado with a Juliette balcony (no furniture on it). It has 2 shades, one to have privacy, with filtered light, and a black out shade. The products in the room were Le Labo Santal 33 - we LOVE this brand and scent, and we have previously tried the lotion and body wash. We got to try both of those again, and the hand wash, shampoo, and conditioner here at The Bower. We like good product and helped make the world, or at least Coronado Island a better smelling place for a few days! The rooftop restaurant DIVE is super convenient for guests and non-guests with elevator entrances outdoor for visitors and indoors for guests. We ate at Dive at least 4 times during our stay because the food was delicious, coffee great, great views and comfortable seating, and staff attentive and friendly. We had Waygu sliders with fries, Calamari, avo toast, bacon, tator tots, etc. All delicious. We invited a friend to join us for dinner and we weren't rushed, even with a packed rooftop spot. There is one EV charging station onsite by lobby, and our only snag was not being able to charge our new Honda Prologue SUV. But the staff came up with an easy-for-us solution and found nearby EV charging, which they took care of for us. The Bower has both new electric bikes and cruisers with gears for easy riding the beautiful island. They are complimentary and provided with helmets and water. So glad it was easy since it's a small boutique, no hassles to get these bikes. Finally, the lobby and decor is hip without being snobby. Everyone (staff and guests) were friendly without being intrusive. It is right in town across from The Del, which gives you easy access to all the nearby shops and restaurants. We will come back to this hidden, epic, gem very soon as everything about it is easy and generous.

Absolutely Outstanding! From the moment we walked in, it was clear this restaurant runs like a well-oiled machine--and that's all thanks to Rachel, the manager, and her phenomenal team. Rachel's presence is warm, professional, and effortlessly confident. You can tell she leads by example. She checked in with us personally during our visit--not in a rushed or rehearsed way, but with genuine care and hospitality. It's rare to see a manager so hands-on, so invested in both the staff and the guest experience. The entire crew mirrored Rachel's energy--friendly, attentive, and clearly proud of their work. Service was seamless, food came out perfectly timed, and every staff member we interacted with was kind and accommodating. You could tell they respect and enjoy working under Rachel's leadership, and it shows in every detail. In an industry where great service can make or break a night out, Rachel and her crew deliver nothing short of excellence. Can't wait to come back! Fernando & Mia were also very kind!

Three cheers for Sandra and for the Del!…read more Service has gone downhill since Hilton acquired it. But we love this location so much we suck it up now and then to have a little staycation in this magical place. At check in time there was a huge line: the computers had broken! We left our luggage and got a snack at ENO Market. And luckily by the time we finished, the line had cleared and they had brought over extra folks to work reception. We were lucky to get Sandra who normally works at the more upscale Shore House on property. She was very apologetic about the line and also saw that we have stayed here at several times. My sweetie is Hilton Gold and they were initially going to upgrade us from our basic The Views room to a "Victorian room with a view". No thank you! Del veterans know that the historic hotel rooms are small and with no privacy, because of the courtyard. So Sandra looked again and managed to get us a beautiful upgrade to the ocean view room in The Views, which was amazing. And when we woke up, we had a note under the door saying we also had complimentary buffet breakfast at the veranda because we have an American Express Hilton card... and we also got $100 off our meal the night before at Serea! So in short an amazing stay that was an incredible value for the Del. Sometimes we stay somewhere else "cheaper" in Coronado and then come out and hang here. But this was a super deal. The credit card is absolutely worth getting if you like the Del! (last pro tip: service at the hotel can be spotty and the food very expensive if you don't have a credit. ENO market and pizzeria is the best value on property. But if you get Brett as your server at Serea, and sit outside, you are still sure to have a magical time!)

Staff says I check in a lot of people I don't remember you. After a little bit more discussion, she says your luggage is right over there confirming she did remember us. A little bit more petty bickering from Marriott employees than I'm used to and reluctance and resistance to take accountability for not providing up to Marriott standard service she gives us our room. The smell was so bad you could smell it a few feet outside of our door. We would wake up in the middle of the night because the smell woke us up. It smelled like mildew & mold so bad, on top of cigarettes and hospice. I went to call to ask for a new room and our phone didn't work. I moved the side bedroom table to see if it was plugged in and it was so dirty with bugs and lint balls. I didn't touch the phone again. I called from my cell phone to see about changing our room. She told me I could come the next day and take a look at other rooms that were available, but we were only there for one more night and we had plans with friends that day. The carpet is disgusting. The couch is so dirty. There were brown stains on the sheets of our bed. Every time the cleaning crew would come in, they would open every single window to the fullest to mask the smell. There's not a restaurant here so you have to go get your food and bring it in. There were dead bugs in the utensil drawers. So we used plastic utensils, and paper plates our whole trip. Our room looked nothing like the lobby. A motel 8 would've been better. Even the pool is sad. We were going to cancel our stay and book somewhere else, but we booked through Expedia and it's a nightmare trying to get a refund through them. Otherwise, we would've left after the first day. When leaving a manager pulled me aside and said he was going to comp one day resort fee for us because of the smell. He didn't have to do that, but it was nice of him. We will never be back unless they do a serious update. So sad because the location is killer!
