Very dirty suite. Kitchen appliances are dirty. Bathroom outlets don't work, looks the mold on ceiling and walls. Kitchen faucet leaks. Refrigerater is small, old and black. All tiles falling apart, caulk I'd missing. Dirty floors. I would not stay here again. Years ago it was so nice, now its trash.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The attendant at the front desk kindly told us to park on the street. Some areas are 2 hours parking, some are 4 hours and further away parking has not limit. It is only from 8 am to 6 pm. He said this way we save on hotel parking which is $40 per night. The lobby is tiny. we stayed in a room on 2nd floor. No elevators so if you have luggages you would need to haul it yourself. The room is somewhat old. Bathrooms are not remodeled. Had a pull up bed as extra bed in living room. Half of our party had some insect bites. We thought they were bed bugs or fleas but were told mosquitos are common in the summer in the island. They charge a fee of $30 for "amenities" which include internet and some free dessert or 10% off certain restaurants PER NIGHT. It so close to the beach- 5 mins walk. That gets extra star. They do lend you some beach chairs, umbrella and biggie board. Water in lobby rarely gets refilled. Addendum: I realized that I got many more insect bites. There are NOT mosquitoes bites. Most likely flea or mite bites!!! BEWARE.

OK, I wasn't sure about staying in this hotel, but I decided since it was cheaper than the hotel and Still Close enough, I would. The room was decent. Nothing modern, mostly older vibes, but comfortable and pretty spacious huge closet! The only thing I just did not liked was the walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors. Especially if somebody's being loud. I was directly in front of the restaurant so I could hear everything that's going around. Other than that The staff was great, rooms were great. Probably another downside is, there is no parking available there. You have to park about a block or two away, but I would stay here again.

Location! Location! Did I mention they have a great location? We were thrilled with this hotel. Literally, right across the street from the Coronado Hotel with easy beach access--and right next-door to several excellent restaurants! There is shopping all around. It doesn't get better than that. Yes, it's an older hotel. The rooms have a Spanish flare, which is kind of cool. They are old, but they are clean. They are comfortable. Not fancy. The staff really makes this special. From a few phone calls before our arrival, to the front desk staff, the people who work here seem genuinely happy and truly want to be helpful. We arrived early in the day and they were kind enough to let us check in, and even upgraded our room to one that was available. There is a pool in a hot tub and we used both. There are also two restaurants attached to the hotel, and both are excellent. There is offsite parking for a daily fee and that was definitely worth it. You could park right out front to load and unload before you move your car. Housekeeping is available on request. If you are looking for a great place to stay on Coronado without a high resort, price tag, this is the place for you! Highly recommend!

First time visiting Coronado. Amazing history of this place and expansion. Walked in was greeted by the front desk. Our room wasn't ready yet, but they offered to hold our bags. They have a couch and chairs as well as water available in their lobby. We killed about 2 hours before checking back to see if a room was ready and they were able to accommodate us. Some rooms are located up stairs. Be cautious if you have large bags or children. I was surprised when I saw the room. I was expecting just the bed and bathroom, but it also came with a large walk in closet that we were able to store our bags. I was also surprised to see a mini fridge and microwave. They have a little binder with the history of the hotel, things to do, and recommendations. Because this location is 100+ years old and a converted hotel, the bathroom was a tight space but had everything you need: toilet, shower, sink. There is Miguel's right in the middle of the hotel. They are open until 9ish, but those wrapping up dinner were heard for a while longer. Then the morning came and the restaurant staff was a little loud cleaning before opening. Jayden assisted us that evening checking if late checkouts were possible, it is based on availability, but we were lucky enough to get extended for a fee. We enjoyed the beach the following day. The hotel offers beach chairs and umbrellas first come, first serve. 1/2 of the morning front desk crew was friendly and helpful. The first one we asked the chairs for seemed to brush us off. We would like to see some renovations and made an addition to a fitness center for the price paid, but location is premium here.

    Vent loose in ceiling

We were extremely disappointed with our stay at El Cordova Hotel. We stayed in a two bedroom suite with friends. We found mold in the closet, air vents that were loose in the ceiling & holes in the walls that weren't repaired properly and just painted over. The kitchen was also not really supplied well enough to do much cooking. This hotel was extremely over priced for what we got, and we would not stay here again.

Three cheers for Sandra and for the Del!…read more Service has gone downhill since Hilton acquired it. But we love this location so much we suck it up now and then to have a little staycation in this magical place. At check in time there was a huge line: the computers had broken! We left our luggage and got a snack at ENO Market. And luckily by the time we finished, the line had cleared and they had brought over extra folks to work reception. We were lucky to get Sandra who normally works at the more upscale Shore House on property. She was very apologetic about the line and also saw that we have stayed here at several times. My sweetie is Hilton Gold and they were initially going to upgrade us from our basic The Views room to a "Victorian room with a view". No thank you! Del veterans know that the historic hotel rooms are small and with no privacy, because of the courtyard. So Sandra looked again and managed to get us a beautiful upgrade to the ocean view room in The Views, which was amazing. And when we woke up, we had a note under the door saying we also had complimentary buffet breakfast at the veranda because we have an American Express Hilton card... and we also got $100 off our meal the night before at Serea! So in short an amazing stay that was an incredible value for the Del. Sometimes we stay somewhere else "cheaper" in Coronado and then come out and hang here. But this was a super deal. The credit card is absolutely worth getting if you like the Del! (last pro tip: service at the hotel can be spotty and the food very expensive if you don't have a credit. ENO market and pizzeria is the best value on property. But if you get Brett as your server at Serea, and sit outside, you are still sure to have a magical time!)

First, the good: The property has been nicely upgraded since I last stayed here in 1978…read more Now the rest. We checked in at 5pm. Thankfully the line was not long but the process takes a while so you can still wait 10 minutes even if you are first in line. The clerk was very nice but I could sense she was going to shaft us and sure enough we ended up in a tiny room that was down a long corridor with a view of nothing but rooftops. Probably one of the worst rooms in the hotel and maybe used to house the maids but now sold as a regular room to maximize revenue. So naturally we marched back to the front desk and thankfully found another clerk who could not have been more wonderful. Shocker, she was unable to find anything else that night (800 rooms, 5pm checkin, nada) but was able to convince the manager to let us upgrade the following day to a higher category room for $75/night (regularly $225). Of course this means packing up after one night and checking into a new room but we decided to do it because the first room was so mediocre. The next morning we stopped at the front desk at noon and were surprised and delighted to find the new room ready. It was like night and day - about 2x-3x larger with an elevated sitting area, a couch, and a sea view even though it was not ocean front. Well worth the upgrade fee though kind of sad that you have to pay extra just to get yourself removed from the worst ROH. Not that everything was perfect - the following morning we were awakened to children running wild in the room above ours (apparently a special turret room or something) - it was so bad that I had to knock on the door and was greeted by a displeased parent who apologized and said they were checking out. Bueno. Don't come to this hotel enjoy the water. The ocean is polluted by sewage from TJ and not recommended for bathing. The next day we arrived at the pool only to find it was closed for the day after a child had exploding diarrhea. So much for that. Someone asked management if they could use the special spa pool reserved for mucky mucks but was told that was off limits. On the plus side beach drink service was excellent, but $8 for a diet coke plus a mandatory service charge seems excessive. Similarly I think it was $25 for a cookie and a couple of soft drinks at the lobby snack shop. I was tempted to buy a yogurt parfait but I could not justify it as the cups were only half filled. It is one thing to gouge customers, quite another to cheapen the product. For those who want to save $$ there is a chipotle across the street from the property where you can get large soft drinks (and return for free refills, as the cashier explained) for $3. If you plan to spend all your time at the resort, save yourself the parking gouge by taking a $31 rideshare to/ from the airport. Overall I can say that the staff was very nice, the bar area is fun and the food served at the hotel restaurants is excellent. However I do not plan to return as there are so many properties in San Diego that have nicer rooms, nicer pools and nicer beaches for a fraction of the price.

Staff says I check in a lot of people I don't remember you. After a little bit more discussion, she says your luggage is right over there confirming she did remember us. A little bit more petty bickering from Marriott employees than I'm used to and reluctance and resistance to take accountability for not providing up to Marriott standard service she gives us our room. It's not the room that we paid for which was a Bay Harbor view not a pool view. It smelled like mildew & mold so bad, on top of cigarettes and hospice. I went to call to ask for a new room and our phone didn't work. I moved the side bedroom table to see if it was plugged in and it was so dirty with bugs and lint balls. I didn't touch the phone again. I called from my cell phone to see about changing our room. She told me I could come the next day and take a look at other rooms that were available, but we were only there for one more night and we had plans with friends that day. The carpet is disgusting. The couch is so dirty. There were brown stains on the sheets of our bed. Every time the cleaning crew would come in, they would open every single window to the fullest to mask the smell. There's not a restaurant here so you have to go get your food and bring it in. There were dead bugs in the utensil drawers. So we used plastic utensils, and paper plates our whole trip. Our room looked nothing like the lobby. A motel 8 would've been better. Even the pool is sad. We were going to cancel our stay and book somewhere else, but we booked through Expedia and it's a nightmare trying to get a refund through them. Otherwise, we would've left after the first day. When leaving a manager pulled me aside and said he was going to comp one day resort fee for us because of the smell. He didn't have to do that, but it was nice of him. We will never be back unless they do a serious update. So sad because the location is killer!
