No TV service. They knew it was not working. The other photo showed the blackened shower pan which was hideous.

The TV should be working in every room. After we enjoyed the Coronado Concert in the park, we walked back to our room with no TV service. The owners knew the TV was not working, but rented us the room anyways. We also were looking at a blackened shower pan that either of us wanted to walk into. The shower door had to be pulled shut due to its worn out condition.

    Who knows lol

This place is gross. We arrived for 3 nights of stay, and checked in to room 10. The self check in process was nice but the second we entered the room we were overpowered by this unbearable smell of sewage and cleaning supplies that definitely originated from the toilet. It honestly smelled like a porta-potty. It was obvious something was wrong with the room and there was an attempt to cover it up with chemicals. The more time we spent in the room, the more gross things we noticed. It was almost like this room was in the middle of a renovation. There was a gaping hole in the ceiling. There was what seemed like mold in the caulking of the sink. There was 3M sticky tape on the inside of the bathroom door with the adhesive backing not even peeled off yet like they wanted to install a towel hook as quick as possible but forgot or something. Since we got in late there was nothing we could really do about any of this. So we managed to get to sleep and wake up but the smell was still bad. The only reason this place is getting any stars is because they let us switch rooms. They were apologetic about the situation and happily gave us a new room which felt like an upgrade. No smell. It was kind of cleaner, but it honestly still not great. The AC unit in the new place was full of black gunk so who knows what kind of biohazard we would disperse in the air if we turned it on. Also the towels had grease stains or some sort of black gunk on them. The only complaint I have that's not about the lack of cleanliness is that the bed in the second room we got was a Queen but the sheets they put on it weren't remotely big enough so we couldn't comfortably fit the sheets to the mattress. Let's just say you get what you pay for. PS there's like 12 rooms and 2 parking spots so be ready to find a free space on the street of Orange Avenue.

    Perfect day in Coronado!

Stood for 1 night for our Anniversary a nice little spot in Coronado for a little getaway! Close walking distance to restaurants and the Ferry for those who want to go to downtown! Downside was no employees on grounds?

    Bathroom fan was filthy.

Adorable on the outside, sad on the inside. I read the reviews, and understood this motel was a bit dated (not surprising for the price). What I didn't know was how poorly this place was being maintained/cleaned. Bathroom mirrors were dirty, hair was on the floor, tile grout was dirty, fixtures were pitted/corroded, and you could see the grime around the doorknobs from other hands. The heater/AC was so noisy that I had to turn it off to sleep. Parts of the popcorn ceiling were stained and had fallen off. On the positive side, the bed was quite good and there were enough covers to keep me warm because I couldn't use the heater. As you may guess, I would never stay here again.

Good location, walking distance to several restaurants, bars and stores. Short drive to the beach and other dining and shopping. Cute from the outside but run down and not the cleanest inside. Our socks were black after walking around an hour. Felt gross not wearing socks. The towels and sheets however, seemed to be very clean. We found 3 spiders the 2 nights we stayed, 2 on the floor 1 on the bathroom wall. If they had just vacuumed well and mopped it would have been a different story. They said the maids cleaned but they still offered a small partial refund so that was nice. Customer service was great, check in was easy and straightforward, and we never had an issue with parking (there are only 5 spots and I think 11 or 12 rooms). A good stay they just need a paint job and to fix up some things and clean better!!

Small bathroom but has just what you need.

Absolutely Wonderful Anniversary Getaway at the Hotel del Coronado…read more My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary with a beautiful weekend stay at the iconic Hotel del Coronado in a King Room with an Oceanview Balcony. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel special. The two young ladies who checked us in were an absolute delight. They looked like sisters but are actually best friends, and their genuine warmth and kindness made the start of our stay so memorable. The concierge was equally fantastic, ensuring our bags were delivered quickly and that we were comfortably settled in our room. The property itself is breathtaking...! The meticulously maintained gardens and stunning California coastal location provided the perfect romantic setting. We enjoyed outstanding fine dining experiences at both Nobu del Coronado and Seréa. What truly touched us was returning to our room to find a thoughtful happy anniversary card and a small box of delicious chocolates from the front desk team. It was such a sweet and personal touch. We were genuinely sad to leave and will absolutely be returning. Thank you to the entire team at the Hotel del Coronado for making our anniversary weekend so special!

You will constantly fight for space alongside crowds of day-trippers who aren't even staying at the resort. The "Beach" Is a Biohazard. Don't let the marketing photos fool you--the beach directly on the resort property is an absolute health hazard. Due to ongoing toxic wastewater and raw sewage runoff flowing up from Tijuana, the ocean water is contaminated with bacteria. Our room had a roomy bathroom that included a shower and a bathtub, comfy beds with ok pillows (like any other hotel), a large TV, etc... We had a great view of the harbor as well! There is a pool, a restaurant with outdoor seating in front of the harbor, and a lawn for activities. It's really not necessary to valet here because they have their own dedicated parking garage for self-parking. The front desk is friendly and informative. It's a little challenging to figure out where to go to find your room, so listen when they explain the details!

We hadn't been to Coronado in years, so we were excited for a perfect summer overnight trip. We called in advance, requesting an early checkin and hoping for an upgrade. Historically, Bonvoy properties upgrade based on status and the fact that we have a Bonvoy credit card We arrived at the hotel and there was commotion at the valet. My husband ended up needing to move our car himself a few times as they were understaffed. We asked for a bellman and no one was available. They offered us a luggage cart so my husband unloaded our luggage. Odd start to the trip. Upon checkin, our rooms weren't ready and we were informed that the hotel is at 98% capacity so no upgrades would be honored. We asked if there was any way to have a room with a view of the water or above the ground floor, and the front desk clerk stated because we booked a room with points, they wouldn't be able to. I could tell the woman was not one worth arguing with just based on her demeanor. I was truly insulted. We have been loyal Bonvoy members for over a decade. We earned a points stay based on our loyalty. If anyone deserved an upgrade, it was a Bonvoy member using points. Later, we received our room keys and our rooms were horrible. They faced motorhomes and were very dark, on the first floor. We shared that we were only there for one night, and would like a room with a different view as the motorhome situation was really killing the vacation vibe. The woman (different woman than who initially checked us in) said if we pay $50 they can give us an ocean view. Hmmm, so they were at 98% capacity... but if we paid $50 we could be upgraded? Again, I was not in the mood to argue after a 2 hour drive, taking care of a baby, etc. We moved into our new rooms. The view was better (than the motor home), but honestly the room were disappointing and very dark. The property itself looked tired. They were very focused on selling timeshares. The pool was PACKED. There weren't enough servers. No one even asked us if we would like drinks or snacks. The towels were provided through a kiosk operated with our room key. Honestly, for a Marriott property, they were really pushing it... I have stayed at Courtyard Inns with better service. To top it off, as we were preparing to leave (about 14 hours after checking in), we called to ask for plastic bags for our wet swimsuits and were informed no one was working yet, so we would need to wait. I have stayed at many Bonvoy properties: some that were more luxurious, others for business, and others that were standard... none have had service this disappointing.

You pay for the location and that is about it. The main lobby was super cute. We were very excited to stay here. But it took a turn when we were shown our room. The smell was so bad you could smell it a few feet outside of our door. We would wake up in the middle of the night because the smell woke us up. It smelled like mildew & mold so bad, on top of cigarettes and hospice. I went to call to ask for a new room and our phone didn't work. I moved the side bedroom table to see if it was plugged in and it was so dirty with bugs and lint balls. I didn't touch the phone again. I called from my cell phone to see about changing our room. She told me I could come the next day and take a look at other rooms that were available, but we were only there for one more night and we had plans with friends that day. The carpet is disgusting. The couch is so dirty. There were brown stains on the sheets of our bed. Every time the cleaning crew would come in, they would open every single window to the fullest to mask the smell. There's not a restaurant here so you have to go get your food and bring it in. There were dead bugs in the utensil drawers. So we used plastic utensils, and paper plates our whole trip. Our room looked nothing like the lobby. A motel 8 would've been better. Even the pool is sad. We were going to cancel our stay and book somewhere else, but we booked through Expedia and it's a nightmare trying to get a refund through them. Otherwise, we would've left after the first day. When leaving a manager pulled me aside and said he was going to comp one day resort fee for us because of the smell. He didn't have to do that, but it was nice of him. We will never be back unless they do a serious update. So sad because the location is killer!
