Location/price for the Island is great.Service was also fantastic. They include parking on site and a good breakfast in the resort fee. The room was quite with a view of the strett and a partial view of the water blocked by a building in part. No elevator in the section we were in and well lite stairs. The room size is small and the room was dated ( but this is a historic hotel. Shower pressure was great The toilet area is very tight hard to close the door without stepping in the shower. Would I stay here again Not sure I might go back to the gas light district vs the island. The price Is a good value for the area and they do have a pool and area seems safe. We walked to dinner and the Del

This hotel is cute. Some things definitely are a bit outdated, but what it lacks in modernness it makes up for in charm. The lobby and breakfast lounge areas are beautiful with classic crown molding and decor. Breakfast is offered from 7-10am and they have a surprisingly nice variety from the usually continental breakfast yogurt, cereal, bagels, and toast, to fresh cooked eggs, Canadian bacon, potatoes, and pancakes. Coffee, tea, and water available 24hrs. There's a small pool and hot tub, but it was raining when I stayed so that wasn't going to happen (lol). Short walking distance to several good restaurants and cute souvenir shops.

If you're going to stay on the island and don't want to spend $1K for a room, then this is the place. Nice room- just don't forget that the place was built in 1906. Outstanding service and staff. Delicious free breakfast. Coffee maker and refrigerator in the room! Parking on site. Great location within walking distance to wonderful restaurants.

I've been coming here since I was a little baby. This time, I am here without my parents at 22 years old with my boyfriend of 5 years! We celebrated our anniversary this past week / weekend. We stayed 3 nights here, and it was wonderful as always. The staff are so attentive, very sweet and caring people. You feel so taken care of. The front desk are always very professional and kind. They always seem so gentle to me, and I love that. I automatically get calmer the second I walk through the doors to the front desk. That's how great the people are here. You instantly feel their energy. Claudia has been here since I was little and she was able to make sure we could come the weekend we wanted! She is amazing and she is the back bone to this whole place. Overall, I can't say enough great things about Glorietta Bay Inn. I'll end it now because I could go on forever. Love you GBI, love the staff, and love you Coronado!

Fantastic staycation! Stayed there for a night on our anniversary. First time there and it was great. They upgraded us to one of the Manson suites which was amazing. Mix of upgrades and historical mansion is pretty cool. Room was awesome. Breakfast was great. Walking distance to nice dinner spot bars at the Del and downtown area was key. Easy parking, GM and folks at the front desk were very nice. Quick drive over to the golf course for our round. Will definitely stay here again for the next Coronado staycation.

Glorietta Bay Inn is such a charming and beautiful place to stay! The location is perfect.. right across from the beach and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the Hotel Del. The historic vibes mixed with modern comfort make it feel both cozy and special. The staff was super friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Except we did have an incident with a cockroach that ran across the bed, but the front desk gave us a trap in case there were more. We especially loved the little touches like complimentary breakfast and the relaxing courtyard area. It's the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway while still being close to all the fun in Coronado. Highly recommend if you're looking for a unique and relaxing stay!

For a true OG Coronado experience, The Glorietta Bay Inn is a must! The Arcihtect & attention to detail draw you back in time and you can't help but imagine what life was like back when Mr Spreckles originally called this truly incredible mansion his home. The photos of the old days, the grand marble staircase and charm is carried throughout each and every room. And yet, you still have the nice upgrades of the modern conveniences and needs. A wonderful friendly staff, great breakfast and pool add to the features we love when we visit ! Not to mention the fantastic location! A half a block from the Hotel del Coronado and a couple blocks to the beach!

The 3 stars are for the Bay View King room 788. We paid extra to have a bay view and it was not worth it at all. When on the balcony and looking straight out all you see are trees that block the bay view. There is a small view when looking to the right out in the distance. The room was very spacious, had a small kitchenette (sink, fridge, microwave & coffee maker), a small table and two chairs and a comfy chair in the corner with an overhead light perfect for reading. Regarding the Inn in general: 5 stars for location and the hot breakfast every morning. I would recommend staying here because everything is within walking distance and you're directly across the street from the Hotel Del Coronado and 2 blocks from the beach. I just wouldn't pay extra for a view room.

Maybe we didn't upgrade to the nicer area, but ugh. The room was so bad. Smelled musty and wasn't updated. Air conditioner made a lot of noise too. Bathroom was okay. On the bright side, bathroom lighting was good and they had hand soap instead of the bar soap. Super close to better places. Breakfast looked bad so we went elsewhere. Wouldn't come back here.

To be honest I didn't stay but the information being put out is confusing. Kids stay free but children aren't allowed? What's the difference?

Breakfast area

This is a hotel with a great location across from the Hotel Del Coronado. The staff is great, breakfast is adequate, small pool, but a very tired property in need of a MAJOR renovation. Rooms are tiny (deluxe king room), not enough space to even shut the bathroom door without stepping aside (see picture). We did have a nice small balcony. Carpet was stained and crusty (likely from cleaning), the room was dusty but adequate. Beds were very firm and sagging in the middle. As others reported the rooms smell very musty. Pool furniture is tired, sagging fabric, and small tables weren't clean and had bird poop on them. The hot tub/spa was closed and very cloudy water. Tiny umbrellas, very small pool. Property next door is under construction which closes the sidewalk in front of the hotel. Next time we will stay at a more updated property. It has lots of potential but has no fitness room but the community center is close by. The breakfast attendants were nice but counters weren't kept clean. Nice assortment of fruit, eggs, pancakes and bagels and muffins. Coffee is available 7am to 11pm but wasn't very good. We walked to the many local coffee shops nearby. Nice location for restaurants and shopping.

Very small bathroom

As other reviewers have commented, it is immaculately clean. Service is very friendly. And it's a low-key, boutique atmosphere conducive to those who are looking for a peaceful, historic place to stay. Check-in was very simple, and we had the option of taking the short set of stairs to our room on the third floor or the historic 1926 Otis elevator, still in operation. We took the elevator, as we had luggage, and alternately chose it and the stairs throughout our stay. Our room was well-appointed, clean, and comfortable. And when I say comfortable, I am referring mainly to the amazing bed--one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Once I fell asleep, I was out like a light until morning each and every night, which I cannot say very often when I travel. Our room had plenty of drawers to use, a small armoire for hanging clothes (which also contains the safe and beverage cooler), and reading lamps above the nightstands on each side of the king-size bed. One chair with a high back was in the corner. Plantation shutters concealed the window, which you can open to let in fresh air because it is nicely screened. The hotel has no balconies, so it is nice to at least have a window you can open. During our stay, you could hear a lot of construction noise from renovations taking place next door as well as the noise from a lot of military aircraft landing at the military base, but none of that took place during sleeping hours. Besides, if you've ever been to Coronado before, you really get used to the military flights, which are more interesting than bothersome most of the time. We're just glad someone is defending the country. :) The bath area had a nice sink and plenty of space on the counter and underneath. The shower was roomy and modern, though the half-length glass wall did allow water to leak out quite easily, as many of these modern configurations do. We took part in the delicious continental breakfast downstairs each morning, took advantage of reading in the comfortable courtyard, and also took in the Friday night wine-down with free wine and charcuterie board. Everything was done so well, and it was nice to chat with a few other guests. Housekeeping was done daily, and two Ghirardelli chocolate squares were generously left each time. Not much to complain about. Very minor things: One morning, the breakfast was refreshed a bit more slowly than usual, but it was completely understandable because only one person was handling that and the front desk at that time. The shower head in our room wasn't working completely right and could have had a little bit better water pressure, but it was no big deal. And the reading lamps were a little loose and also extremely hot to the touch, so just be careful handling them if they've been turned on for any length of time. We never watched the TV (though I did turn it on briefly for a few seconds, and it had a great picture and sound) and never turned on the heat or air since the weather was so temperate. The Wi-Fi worked flawlessly and fast. All in all, a great stay that we truly enjoyed. We didn't qualify for any discount this time around, but the hotel's website does offer some discounts if you book ahead, so I advise you to keep an eye on that. I know that we will!

It's interesting how there are so many different properties within the same hotel/resort. Every property is so different, and the shore house is definitely one of the nicer accommodations. It feels brand new, and every room is set up like an apartment. Very spacious, a small fireplaces inside and outside. Very nice bathroom with a deep soaking tub and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need, including a full-size refrigerator and dishwasher. My one gripe was that the water was not hot. Maybe it was around 100° max. It was a bit frustrating not to be able to take a fully hot shower. This is something I probably should've mentioned to the staff, but we were only there for two nights. Would recommend this property over the other options. A bit more expensive, but definitely worth it if you're going to splurge at The Del!

My dad is a retired officer in the military, and he loves to be close to the base. However, while the pictures on this Best Western site look decent, they don't reflect what the rooms are actually like. Our room was cramped, gloomy and dated and gave me claustrophobia. The sheets and towels were like sandpaper, and the room is shabby and dirty-looking. The only small window looked out into a dirty alley. This was the most depressing room ever! In order to open the bathroom (which was disgusting) you had to make sure the closet door was closed. Carpet was dingy and the bedding was cheap and scratchy. The blanket was 100 years old and the bedspread was like an old shower curtain. There was ZERO natural light and the room stunk of musty, damp air from a loud swamp cooler. The ice machine close to our room was loud and people used it all night. The amenities were non-existent (not even bottles of water, so bring your own). The faucet handles barely worked in the bathroom sink, and there was no hot water. The WiFi is terrible and there are no modern charging ports to use. Housekeeping doesn't replace the linens or even come in to make the bed like a normal resort, unless you request it. What's the point of going away to relax if you have to clean your own room?? This place SCREAMS CHEAP! If you like trashy cheap motels this place is for you.
