It was really nice of Dominique and Amanda to go out of their way and pull various pieces from their back stock for me to try on. Sadly, most of the pieces I really wanted were either much too big or much too small, but thats how vintage goes sometimes. I managed to leave with a 50s cotton dress and a 50s cotton circle skirt, both of which Im very thrilled about. Prices are slightly higher, but overall pretty fair. Theres pieces for every budget in this shop, without a doubt. I'll definitely visit again next time Im in town, and will certainly check out their social media regularly to see if theres anything I might want to have shipped to me. I've also known the owner for years - she is a kind, respectable person who truly cares about her customers. However, over the past year or two, I've noticed a decline in customer service. There are a few sales associates whose approach often makes shopping uncomfortable. They seem eager to help younger women or those who fit the mold of a certain aesthetic, but if you don't, the experience changes. Instead of showing flattering pieces that could accentuate your positives, they tend to pull oversized items - with more of an appeasing "let's cover you up" attitude rather than talking to you positively about what could look good on you. Even when I share my preferences and typical size, I'm often presented with clothing that feels mismatched to what I've expressed I like. At this point, it feels less like a mistake and more like inexperience or a lack of understanding of how to style different body types. Additionally, hiring only sales staff who look and act "trendy" misses the mark when it comes to connecting with the broader demographic of women who should be embraced and celebrated as valued customers. It's too bad, because the clothes themselves are cute - but the experience has become so unpleasant that I will be taking this place off my list of places to shop.
