I saw this place on Groupon and thought the price was too good to be true - seems I was right…read more Joi (the artist) was very nice, but the overall experience was not professional. I did a LOT of research on microblading before booking my appointment with her, and I was so excited for the week leading up to my appointment. When I got to the salon, I filled out some paperwork and read through all of the papers, and noticed some were word-for-word copied off the pages I had read online whilst researching the procedure. She then began hand drawing an outline of my brows with a pencil. This is where I started getting concerned, because the videos I'd watched all showed lots of tools and rulers being used to make sure your eyebrows were even and suited your face properly. She was merely "eyeballing" them, but I figured she must know what she's doing, as she had quite a few reviews on her booking website. She even mentioned that she prefers her clients draw the shape they want. I feel like a microblading artist should be the one to do that: measure where your brows should start and end, where they should curve, etc, because they should know what suits your face best. She then told me to lie on the table, and asked me about my pain tolerance level. I told her I wasn't sure, I'd never really had any procedures done before. She informed me that she does not use any anesthetic during the procedure. Okay... according to her website, she applies two different types of anesthetic before and throughout the procedure, to ensure the client is as comfortable as possible. I wasn't feeling comfortable at all at this point. She also informed me that most of her clients say the pain is "an 8 or 10" on a scale of 10. If you've done any research on microblading, most people say it's a 3 at most. I'm not sure what technique she is using, but I don't think it's correct. I informed her I was not comfortable and left. Overall, she just seemed very unsure of her capabilities from the way she spoke. It almost felt like she was trying to get rid of me. Granted, I am very picky about my brows, but this is not the experience I expected for a semi-permanent procedure on my face.

Monica is an absolute angel!…read more I was a little nervous about getting my brows done because I've never had them done professionally before and didn't know what shape I had or even wanted. She was so kind and helpful by mapping my brows out and explaining everything before we even got started. Threading does hurt a little bit but it's more of a surprise than actually being painful, if that makes sense. She complimented my brows the entire time and I absolutely love the results! They actually have shape now :) I cannot recommend her enough to my friends and family!

This made me super hesitant about permanent makeup! However if you have the right person, it definitely makes all the difference!!! It now takes me approximately five minutes to do my makeup in the morning!! Monica is super patient and thorough, and gets to know you and your style before she starts. She does a sample during the consultation appointment, and draws out what it would look like before she even begins. I really like that! I also got the cutest goodie bag with all the essentials, including day to day instructions on what to do. She is also sooo nice and genuine, that the time flies during the appointment! I'm happy to report that she has done at least 10 of my friends and family of all different ages and styles, and they are all super happy!!
