Mrs. Figs is such a wonderful bookstore!!!! The owner was so professional and kind to our family when we visited and really made our kids feel comfortable and are excited about returning again to get more books. She was very knowledgeable about everything and really helped us appreciate the great service that you never find nowadays. This bookstore is not like the usual commercialized bookstores that have "drone-like" staff who are not very knowledgeable. She was so personable and makes you feel so welcome. We will definitely be returning and will tell all of our family and friends about this cute and cozy small town bookstore. They don't carry magazines, but Connie was still so helpful, recommending nearby places to look for it, even calling over to other stores/competition, to see if they had it in stock. This is such an adorable bookshop. I love to support mom and pop shops and was so glad I stumbled upon this one! The woman who owned the bookstore was so friendly and inviting. She was super happy to help us find a book and give some recommendations. I love the little built-in porch they have inside for you to sit and relax; a very home-y vibe. Nice bookstore, nice people and I like supporting local biz! I still miss Borders though. This place offers a discount but you don't really save that much. About $14 a book. I wish they offered more coupons and sold cheap used books too! But you cant blame them... Its not really their fault. read more

This is one of my favorite happy places! I love to come into the store for a warm greeting and a storeful of real books. My favorite part of the store is Connie, the owner. She knows how to make you feel like a true friend and is very knowledgeable about all of the books in her store. From the children's board books through the adult novels. She always guides me to the perfect book whether it's for myself, or a gift for someone else. She does an amazing job with story time for the children. She reads each of the characters voices and makes it truly exciting. I also really enjoy the visits from authors and book signings. This is a hidden gem on town. Forget the big chain stores, if she doesn't have the book you're looking for, she can order it and have it available for you in just a few days. I love this place! My kids do too. It has a little area where the kids can read books and play with puzzles while you shop. If the book you are looking for isn't there - then they order it for you within days. Great prices considering they are an independent store. Sweetest, most fun, coziest bookstore ever! I loved this place! At Christmastime when I moved here, I found a good book for my niece and ordered two more. This is an amazing, heartfelt caring throwback to the days of yesteryear when everybody knew your name when you walked in and gave you a smile and a kind suggestion if it felt or looked like you needed one. I bring my kids in here all the time and they adore Connie and everybody on her staff who are all amazing and patient. Connie always goes out of her way to read -- to sit down and actually READ -- a book to my three year old son Jeremy EVERY TIME WE GO THERE. And then one day at my nine-year old twin's school I bump into her and SHE HAS TWO BOOKS FOR THEM THAT SHE WANTS TO GIVE THEM AS GIFTS. I can't believe how wonderful this bookstore is. Sanctuary.
