However, as we got closer to April 15 I got minimal communications from him. Then on 8pm on Tax Filing day itself, he texted that it would be late at night that he finished, then he texted saying he didn't finish and would file for an extension. Strike 1. Then I had to follow up April 20 since I hadn't heard anything and then over the next 2-3 weeks it was back and forth of reviewing his draft submissions and there was constantly inaccurate information, missing information, and overall poor attention to detail (he even missed including my 3 children as dependents). I was QCing accounting mistakes of my own CPA! Strike 2. I had to keep revising his drafts because his initially had us owing over 5-figures which was more than last year. I had to remind him then of how to approach the tax strategies that our family put in place. What I am even paying you for?! Strike 3. Then I had to still follow up with him when the final submission was going to be submitted (over a month late) and only then did he actual submit it, but I never even got a copy of the submitted paperwork (still waiting for it). Strike 4/5/6/ Needs to be thrown out of the game. I don't recommend at all and it's unfortunate since he seemed to do well with others, but not with us. Maybe he couldn't handle the complexity of our W2s and investments but never will I work with him again.

Sherrie emailed several times confirming the appointment (within 5 days), which gave me the impression she didn't want the appointment. I even asked if there was a better day for her if she was too busy. On the morning of the appointment, I was unfortunately pulled into an emergency case and had to reschedule. I immediately used the link she provided and rescheduled. Several hours later, I received an email from Sherrie stating the least I could do was call her. Cell phones are frowned upon in the OR, and unfortunately, not everyone works in an office environment and can just pick up the phone. But it gets worse. I let Sherrie know my situation and that I had rescheduled and wasn't a no-show. Sherrie then looked for my reschedule, canceled it, and stated I needed to pay $50.00 if I wanted to reschedule. No thanks, I will not be rescheduling, why wouldn't they require a credit card to schedule if they charge for rescheduling? The whole experience was off putting and unprofessional.
