I found Alex through his YouTube channel and I couldn't be more grateful. He's patient, reliable, and incredibly knowledgeable! It's true. The first year you file taxes for your business in California and on a federal level, it seems like everyone is out to get you! It can be incredibly daunting to not only differentiate tax liability, but avoid misfilings, fees, and things you aren't even aware of. That's when I realized a faceless entity like h&r block wouldn't cut it for me. I needed someone personable, reliable, but most importantly have the knowledge tailor-fit to my situation. Not only was Alex super knowledgeable about the details, but he was always there for me. If I had a question or concern, I never felt abandoned through the process. I think it's because he's so organized, since he was always extremely communicative and never let me down. Well-versed in his various specialties, I've never met anyone so sharp and on top of things. Overall, I'd recommend him to anyone and I'll definitely be referring friends. read more

I had a great experience working with Alex. He is extremely knowledgeable -- and dare I say passionate?? -- about the intricacies of the tax code! He is professional, has excellent follow-through, and goes above and beyond to help his clients better understand their financial situations. A bit about the process: We started with a free, 15-minute consultation to determine whether Alex could help me. During this call, he gave me an estimate of how long it would take him to address my situation at his hourly rate of $325. Before Alex began work on my issue, I paid half of the upper end of the estimate upfront and Docu-signed an engagement letter. Alex took his time collecting all of my pertinent financial details and kept me apprised of the projected timeline throughout the process. We concluded with a scheduled call where Alex presented me with a very organized, well-thought-out PDF showing potential outcomes considering different variables. He spent an hour and 15 minutes patiently going over the PDF with me and answering every question I could come up with at the time. Since our scheduled call, Alex has remained available via email and phone for further inquiries. He is always friendly and eager to help. And when he can't come up with an answer or explanation on the spot, he researches it and follows up with what he's found. Highly recommended! read more

Alex is an incredible tax expert. He is always available, takes time to listen to his clients, is very quick to respond to any concerns, and is extremely knowledgeable and insightful. I believe the best way to explain what you are getting with Alex's services is to tell a personal story of just one of the many ways he helped me and my family. My bank was supposed to disburse inherited funds into my account, but unfortunately, the bank did this in an incorrect fashion. This error could have negatively impacted me and hurt me with my taxes. Alex was on the phone with the bank manager for over an hour, working to correct their mistake. This was on tax day of all days. Regardless, Alex worked to make sure everything was done the right way - he really went to bat for me. Alex has a dedication to detail, works to make sure everything is executed properly and appropriately. I highly recommend Alex for any and all your tax needs. read more

I needed professional tax help with an uncommon tax form that Turbo Tax does not support. My journey of finding an expert that could help, started with Turbo Tax suggesting Quick Books experts. After speaking to four experts, two did not have the time to help, one offered to help at a cost of $800, to start with, and the last one suggested I did not even need to file the form. Now being even more confused than when I started, I decided to view some You Tube videos on requirements of tax form 709, and I stumbled on Alex Efros's video. His video was unbelievably clear, precise, detailed and he even offered initial free consulting for 15 minutes. When discussing with Alex he was extremely patient, clear and it became evident he knew his stuff. He was also very straight forward and clear of the cost, the time it would take to file the form, and exactly what he would do. After verifying his credentials, I hired Alex. His work was 100% as he explained and he was extremely professional and timely. In the future, I plan to run all my tax and financial planning questions through Alex. A true professional expert that I definitely recommend. read more

Alex is still so committed to his clients that he went out of his way to inform me of critical, COVID-related changes that would significantly impact federal student loan borrowers like myself. If he hadn't said anything, I would have figured this out much later and not been as informed in my decision making. This gesture really imprinted upon me the fact that Alex truly wants the best for his clients, even when the service agreement is complete. I don't care who you are or how much or little money you have. Stop shopping around. This guy is the real deal. I make good money but am terrible at managing it. I was/am so behind in IRS payments bc I'm an independent contractor. I was feeling desperate and seriously concerned the IRS and CA state was going to start garnishing wages. After one phone call with Mr. Efros, I was put at ease. He put together a financial plan for me using complex spreadsheets that he made simple. I wish I could give him ten stars. I am just now implementing his recommendations and putting them into the excel sheet he sent me. I have already noticed a difference. DO NOT LOOK FURTHER THAN THIS MAN. He lifted a HUGE weight off my shoulders. Massive. For the first time I feel that everything will work out financially. Keep in mind that you have to follow his plan for you, but if you do, you can't fail. On another note, he really REALLY seems to care about you - he said he wants to feel like family and he really does. He doesn't shame you, he takes you seriously, he makes an individual plan. He truly is wonderful and truly cares about you as a client. You're not just a number to this guy. I cannot recommend him enough. And he makes himself available to you when you need him. Alex: thank you so much for putting me at ease. I feel like everything is going to be okay now. I actually teared up at the end of our conversation. Again, to those reading this: look no further. I'm serious - he's the real deal. read more

My husband and I had Alex work on some financial planning with regards to our retirement. Asking Alex to help us was an excellent decision. He is great at explaining financial information in language that is easy to understand which is so very important. He answered all our questions. He did not just hand us a pile of papers and leave us to figure it out on our own. He went over every section of the plan with us. Alex was very available during all phases of the engagement. He was clear and up front about all fees. In addition to being a skillful financial planner he is very knowledgeable about taxation. I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking to have their tax returns done correctly. We have only lived in Los Angeles for a short time and feel extremely lucky to have found someone as intelligent and professional as Alex. read more
