We have been going to Robert Hall and Associates for 15 years now. They operate in the realm of the tax world that can only help you to get through the perilous time every year that you get your paperwork together to play with or not the Feds and the state. This year like several in the past we were under the stewardship of John Goshima. As per usual John was his usual friendly and helpful self. The problem I had was waiting for the necessary 1099's from the establishments that we had accounts with. I believe they are held to the time of end of January to send 1099's out to their customers. But don't hold your breath if they dawdle around and exceed that deadline. We had to wait a week before getting all the 1099's we needed to finish our taxes for last year. After several calls to the errant institutions we were ready to roll. We had an early appointment with John and his work was all neatly set up and ready to finish for our refunds. John then instructed my wife over the phone on how to scan the errant 1099.Like a well oiled machine John turned in the finished returns to the capable and very sweet Karen Baker who sent the returns in electronically and now we patiently await our refunds. The overall view of Robert Hall, by the way a name I despised while attending school and had to listen to commercials about a clothier company with same name touting the end of summer and time to buy for back to school with Robert Hall. I love this Robert Hall due to the consistent results that through their own due diligence bring to us. Also the professional people in every capacity that work there is truly matched by their friendly and cheerful energy. I also appreciate the bowls of candy in the entry way. Tax time can be gruelling and filled with apprehension but Robert Hall and Associates always give us the results we hope for along with their professional and friendly manner. Another Stress Free Tax Return appointment. My preparer John Goshima is extremely capable.

Our Filing appointment was last July 2025 which went well. RHA forgot to electrically file for some reason and the IRS only received in September. We still have not received our refund and have no answers as to what is going on. Signed a POA for IRS services around the holidays so that they can do the calls themself, and still nothing. After numerous calls, which my contact refuses to take, and emails with no answers we still are waiting for a refund. ABSOLUTELY horrible communication. We will not be back but would certainly like the Refund which we are due or at least some answers as to who is responsible. read more

Poor communications and customer service, but they eventually computed my income tax returns correctly by the tax filing deadline. My advisor was late to both appointments I had and hurried through them. It was impossible to speak with my assigned advisor to find out the status of my return (only his assistant, who relays messages), and I was concerned that they would not finish my return because they missed two dates by which they said they would be done (dates given by them, not set by me). This caused some anxiety as I thought I'd have to have somebody else do my taxes. Their tax return services are not cheap, but they eventually did good work on my returns. However, I got the impression they were just too busy to deal with me. read more

I was interviewing Robert Hall & Associates as I was in search of a new CPA. I expect a high level of professionalism and attention to detail, qualities that were entirely absent during my initial calls with Robert Hall & Associates. I was asked to provide sensitive, confidential tax returns prior to my initial consultation. However, during the call, the representative (Tony) didn't reference my documents once. Worse, he couldn't distinguish between a 'tax overpayment' and an 'audit,' repeatedly mischaracterizing my situation despite my corrections. Following this, communication from the office was non-existent. There is no direct number to speak to a human being. For a firm that handles sensitive financial data, the lack of preparation and poor communication is alarming.
