Ame and number and they would call me when it came in. About a month later (just now) I got that phone call. I had already bought some a week earlier, but I appreciate them calling me. The woman who just called me informed me of the current Groupon- score!!! So, 5 stars for follow through, giving me a heads up on a killer deal, and of course the products! I don't usually see the point in reviewing chain stores, but I feel the need to spread my love for this particular Body Shop. I've been shopping at the Body Shop since I was a teen living in Europe (their anti animal testing appealed to me as a budding vegetarian), but for a while I stopped going because their products kinda lost me at some point. One day I randomly went into this store and ended up walking out with some mineral makeup products that I really love. After the Groupon deal, I ended up getting a membership card, and it has really paid off - I get a sweet deal during my birthday month, 10% off all my other purchases, and members-only sales - it has been more than worth it and trust me I'm not your typical female avid buyer of beauty products. The staff as this particular location is what really makes me come back - they are truly warm people and I feel completely non-judged when I walk in there not wearing any makeup and looking disheveled. I may have caught the cashier on an off day, but he made me feel like an idiot for not understanding the complicated sales offers and for refusing the $10 membership card on sale for around $6 (which, he did explain, would pay itself off when they gave me a $10 credit for my birthday). Didn't have the extra $6, couldn't do it. The sales seemed straightforward until he started explaining the current discounts and promotions to me. I became confused and he would just stop in the middle of explaining and stare me down as though expecting me to intuit the rest of what he was trying to tell me. Like I said, he made me feel pretty stupid. I may or may not be stupid, that's probably not something I should judge, but I do remember from my sales experience that making the customer feel stupid is not the best tack. Anyway, he told me that the loss of benefit due to not getting the card would be so great that I shouldn't bother coming back. "Don't come back," is verbatim how he worded it to me. I am so in love with The Body Shop. Their products are wonderful and I will gladly spend a few extra bucks for products that are not tested are animals. Their commitment to human and animal ethics is what keeps me coming back. I went in looking for a specific sent (Japanese Cherry Blossom) of body wash. The lady that was working immediately pointed me in the right direction, explained to me that the packaging has changed a bit but that the product is still exactly the same and then explained the sale that they had going on. Her helpful but not overbearing attitude was perfect and I think a lot of other stores could learn a few things. I grabbed by body wash, body spray (buy one, get one half off? I love the Body Shop and I'm a huge fan of their products... their body butters are probably their best known product - and for a reason. They are incredible! If you don't know about the Body Shop's founder, Anita Roddick, you should definitely do a little research about her. She was an amazing woman - an environmental and human rights advocate. And she believed (and proved) that a business could be operated in an ethical manner that was nearly unheard of in the cosmetics industry - by accessing fair-trade ingredients while expanding the typical ideas about beauty. In Austin, we used to have a couple Body Shop locations to choose from, but the Highland Mall store closed years ago, leaving the Barton Creek location as the city's only Body Shop store. I'm usually pleased by the help I receive in the store by employees, but want to take a moment to rave about one employee in particular. Josh has been in the store several times that I've stopped in to do some shopping. He obviously loves the Body Shop's values and products. And he's incredibly knowledgable whenever I have questions or need gift suggestions. I always leave in a good mood and feeling pampered! read more

After a trip to a different shop - and being totally ignored - I won't mention the name (LUSH on 6th & Lamar).... I found The Body Shop in Barton Creek mall to be a very refreshing experience. Josh, welcomed us in, offered to show us around, told me about different specials and gave us samples of cream that I thought smelled good. I've gone to the Body Shop over the past many years - my favorite being High Street in London and Josh gave the same level of personality and service that I have experienced many, many times. Very nice to see that not all retail establishments have abandoned excellent customer service. Note to the Body Shop management - keep this guy!! Didn't notice until I was leaving the store that there was a huge dead cockroach on the floor!!! There was only one person at the store and she was not friendly. I'm very indecisive when it comes to buy three get three free deals about which one I wanna get and she offered very minimal help from the beginning. She was busy with her paperwork for the whole time. When I wanted to switch something from my order, she was very impatient. Not friendly at all!!! read more

I really like the fact that every product you'll find in The Body Shop is cruelty-free, created with, for the most part, the best and most natural ingredients which are outsourced using fair-tade agreements from countries and villages all over the world! The Body Shop makes quality products made of quality ingredients, and their business practices and methods of production are sound, ethical, and inspiring. Try their Hemp Hand protector, the most healing and hydrating hand cream out there, their many flavors of naturally scented and moisturizing body butter, and treat yourself to a luxurious foaming bath potion with hydrating and soothing shea butter, brazil nut oils, and other nourishing ingredients The prices aren't half bad either. I would expect to pay a much higher price for these types of things at Origins counters at Macy's. But The Body Shop offers an equally attractive and ethically sound and equally exciting line at a lower price. read more

I can't find anywhere to review The Body Shop as a whole, meaning the store, employees, and products. While in the Seattle/Tacoma Int. Airport March 27, 2015 I stopped in The Body Shop, my Cashier #673721, told me that the Love Your Body membership card was on special today for $4 instead of the regular $10, would I like one, of course I told her only if I could us it online also. My total sounded a little high, but their products are expensive anyway, right. I looked at my receipt and she charged me the regular price for that card $10 and on top of that I heard the cashier next to her ask her customer which state she lived in so she could waive her sales tax. I was not asked that and could have saved another $4.87. Being from Alaska my shipping is double so I won't be shopping online either!! All around bad experience, would not recommend, and shame on you Cashier #673721 for being a totally dishonest person. Lesson to self DO NOT impulse shop. read more
