The Current hosts exhibitions of contemporary art produced by well-known nationally and internationally recognized artists and local Vermont artists -- including elementary school children -- and various events showcasing the art and the artists. On our recent visit to The Current, we happened to visit in between signature exhibitions and the museum was displaying works proudly produced by children from local elementary and middle schools in its three galleries. The quality of the artwork fell somewhat short of our expectations -- given the professional artists' work prominently featured on the museum's website -- but my art viewing companion and I still enjoyed viewing this exhibit and supporting the community. We will return to The Current visit next time we are in Stowe. Admission to The Current is free, although donations are welcome. Effective July 1st, they removed themselves from all insurance so you are expected to pay completely up front. I received no communication and was expecting my insurance to pay for my treatment. I had an appointment scheduled for June, but when my car broke down we moved it to July 18th. Suddenly I had to pay almost $500 out of pocket with no notice. I questioned why my insurance (that paid for things in April) was suddenly not paying and they informed me then that they were out-of-network for all insurances. "Oh you'll receive a check from your insurance after we submit the claim" Well that's not helpful in any regard. Thank God I'm not longer living paycheck to paycheck anymore because how else could I just drop $500 without notice? Ironically when I got home I had a letter from my insurance informing me of Stowe removing themselves from their network, but still has received no official communication from the office itself. This is not the first time this happened either. I switched insurance companies to remain in network with Stowe Family, but they never informed me until after the fact. I moved two years ago and I didn't want to switch dentists since the medical staff are great. However I cannot see myself driving an hour to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket with no warning anymore.

We talked to THREE different people and no one was helpful - only blamed us for the crap we had to endure here. And Uber Eats does not exist here. We went to a few breweries today; Idletime had great beer & food - but this place!??! Do not be fooled, the "morning breakfast" is likely bulk purchased items from a grocery store - I even heard an 8 year old refer to the croissants as "cheap" and she was not wrong. It's all a gross exaggeration of anything remotely RESORT or SPA related. Spend your money elsewhere. Seriously. We would never pay full price for this place. I feel bad for those who did. I asked him for my $15 back, and he REFUSED because he said I did not have my receipt. Then, to make matters worse! ... on my Google 1-STAR Review of LIPPA's he lied, saying he "could not find my name anywhere in his computer system" ~ trying to make it appear as if I had the wrong Jewelry Store (funny... He never did ask for my name today; he simply stated without my yellow receipt, he would not REFUND ME $15 for dishonestly placing an EXPIRED 2020 WATCH BATTERY in my wrist watch) A THIEF is a THIEF (thieves always lie; they have, or they get caught) and a LIE is a LIE: a Tiger doesn't change their stripes, no matter how big, or small their kill is. Both the bride and groom are super happy with the results and Lippa's wedding bands will be with us the rest of our lives. We highly recommend Lippa's.
