Michael was amazing!!!! We were 4 girls from the NY/NJ area and needed a blowout for a wedding down in Richmond. To completely satisfy 4 girls who are used to having great blow outs is no small task. My sister even asked him to come up in March for my nephew's Bar Mitzvah. He listened to exactly what each one of us wanted and hit the nail on the dot! My cousin even has some crazy curly hair and he pinned it back, and he doesn't even "do" updos! He also was accommodating and came to our hotel, big win! Thanks again Michael, hope to see you soon! Don't laugh at my selfie, but here ya go!

I badly explained what I wanted, and Michael nailed it perfectly, as you can see ... a bit of volume and body, but not crunchy.

Michael and I took a little bit to warm up to each other and for both of us to open up. But at the end of the day, he was able to get my thick stick straight asian hair to have volume and body for a professional headshot I had later that day. He has a great back story and is truly passionate about everyone's hair. Michael understood that what's required of my hair is not the same as someone else's hair. He also gave me some great advice on getting my hair back from the dried out state it was without trying to upsell me on additional products or services. If you are in Richmond and need a blow out, Michael is the man.

Hands down one of the best salon experiences I have ever had. This was my first blow out ever and I can absolutely say after this experience it won't be my last! I have very curly hair and struggled to manage it until i got a very mild Brazilian Blowout to wear my hair natural and have it be less frizzy (and use less product). I have a fear putting heat on it because every time I have gotten it professionally done in the past , my curl pattern took 2-3 weeks to bounce back after regular washes and some curls never bounced back. Not this time!! My curls bounced back immediately after the first wash post Blowout with the King! I ask a lot of questions about the process in the salon and Michael was very accommodating and took the time to learn about my lifestyle , day-to-day scheduling, and how to best incorporate loving my hair and taking care of it and which products will and won't work for me . My blowout lasted over a week (probably could've lasted longer tbh it was still in tip top shape when i washed it) and I only passed a straightener through it to touch it up and wrapped it a silk bonnet to help keep it straighter longer. I will definitely be going back regularly!

Cancer Patient Refused $500 Refund - Poorly Done Microblading…read more I am a recently diagnosed cancer patient that was seeking to get my eyebrows microbladed. I went to Maria @mariialash for microblading/"nano brows". Her price for this service is $500. I wanted to get this done prior to starting chemo so I could still have natural-looking brows during treatment. Unfortunately, 100% of the pigment that Maria put on my eyebrows fell out, despite following her care instructions. I informed her of this and sent a photo of my plain brows, stating that I am starting treatment any minute and will be unable to do anything that may compromise my immune system such as getting a tattoo, for at least the next year. At this time I requested a refund. She has refused to disperse a refund stating that her disclaimers her clients sign state this could happen. A flimsy "disclaimer" does not excuse a business from providing good service and exercising good judgement. I do not recommend trusting Maria with your money nor your brows.

She paid $500 for the service, hoping to have brows before starting chemotherapy. Unfortunately, despite following the aftercare instructions, 100% of the pigment fell out and she was left with zero results. I've had my own brows microbladed at a different business for over five years, and my experience was nothing like this. When my friend reached out, she provided photos and explained that she could not attempt a correction because of her upcoming chemo and radiation, and asked for a refund. Maria refused, citing a disclaimer. But a disclaimer doesn't excuse poor results or lack of accountability. For such an important and time-sensitive service, this was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend trusting this business with your money.

I had the Liscio Japanese straightening treatment done on my medium-length coarse, wavy hair. After having had the BioIonic Japanese straightening treatment done 15 years ago, a Brazilian blowout done in '22, & Keratin treatments from '22-24, I decided to go with the Japanese straightening treatment because of the permanency, resistance to humidity, & ease of styling. I literally wash my hair, a quick blow dry & maybe one pass with a flat iron & I'm good for a week. As a mother of a two-year-old, it makes me feel like myself/put together, but does not take time away from my daily routine with my son. I'd rather be spending time with him than standing in front of the mirror running a flat iron through my hair endlessly. I did my research to see who currently offers this treatment here in Richmond. I found three places: Flirt Salon in Cary Town, a salon in the West End that requires a deposit paid at the consultation BEFORE scheduling the actual service (what the heck - they only have one person that does the treatment there, so if that person were to fall ill or get injured on the job, you would've wasted your time and perhaps have to lobby for your deposit back- no thank you!), & then a third place that had very poor reviews. I reached out to Vada, she communicated with me to answer all of my questions and I felt very confident about getting the service done with her. I consider it an investment and wanted to make it worth my while. I have high expectations, I knew exactly what I wanted, and I notice every detail when it comes to my hair. She exceeded my expectations. Vada is not only professional and highly skilled - she's been doing hair for 30 years - but she is also very personable and genuinely cares about her clients. It was a great experience from start to finish. I'm absolutely in love with my hair. Vada is wonderful and I can't recommend her salon enough.

I wish my stylist had asked me more questions, but I still had a good experience. Only complaint I have is that their scheduling system is a bit confusing as I couldn't figure out who my stylist was. Decently priced !
