I have really long hair and didn't know what to expect for my first blow out. Jordan and Michael were great and didn't have any problem creating the style I wanted. read more

Michael was amazing! I completely booked the wrong type of appointment (I have extensions, definitely didn't book enough time for that!) and he was so nice and accommodating regardless. My hair looked EPIC the entire night as part of an indoor/outdoor wedding. Michael was also hilarious and great to talk to. I will 100% rebook whenever I am back in town. Thank you!!!! read more

Michael is the best in Richmond! I used to live in San Francisco where there were blowout bars everywhere. Moving to Richmond, I was struggling to find a place to for a fresh blow out...Michael has filled that void for me! His work is ALWAYS quality. Most recently I saw Michael before my maternity shoot and he was so patient with me and took breaks as needed during the wash portion of the appointment. He's simply the best. Thank you Michael! read more

Michael was amazing!!!! We were 4 girls from the NY/NJ area and needed a blowout for a wedding down in Richmond. To completely satisfy 4 girls who are used to having great blow outs is no small task. My sister even asked him to come up in March for my nephew's Bar Mitzvah. He listened to exactly what each one of us wanted and hit the nail on the dot! My cousin even has some crazy curly hair and he pinned it back, and he doesn't even "do" updos! He also was accommodating and came to our hotel, big win! Thanks again Michael, hope to see you soon! Don't laugh at my selfie, but here ya go! read more

Michael and I took a little bit to warm up to each other and for both of us to open up. But at the end of the day, he was able to get my thick stick straight asian hair to have volume and body for a professional headshot I had later that day. He has a great back story and is truly passionate about everyone's hair. Michael understood that what's required of my hair is not the same as someone else's hair. He also gave me some great advice on getting my hair back from the dried out state it was without trying to upsell me on additional products or services. If you are in Richmond and need a blow out, Michael is the man. read more

The Blowout King - I badly explained what I wanted, and Michael nailed it perfectly, as you can see ... a bit of volume and body, but not crunchy. - Blow Dry/Out Services Near Me - Richmond, Virginia

I got my hair done for my engagement shoot and Michael did an amazing job! The products that he used smelled amazing and I truly felt pampered the whole time. I can tell he took great care at each step from shampooing to the application of products to the blow drying. I asked for beach waves and he made sure to explain how the hair would be curled and if I wanted that specific look. I had the shoot on a hot day and my hair kept well throughout. It was curled tight enough that at the end of the day it had a nice lived in "beachy" look. I went across the street after my appointment to pick up some snacks at the grocery store and a stranger gave me a compliment and said that I looked absolutely cute and that I should be in a photoshoot. The blowout really gave me the confidence to take pictures later in the day. I'll definitely stop by and get a blowout whenever I'm in Richmond. read more

great place for a blowout. i never wanted to wash my hair because it was perfect. it did last a few days after the event. definitely worth the time and money!!! read more

If you've never gotten a blowout before, now is the time!! I've seen Michael twice now and I highly recommend him. The most recent time, I got the scalp detox. If you have lots of product buildup etc. you definitely need to add this to your appointment! His prices are super reasonable and he follows all covid protocols. He also asks you what're you're looking for and tells you what he's going to be doing on your hair. Highly, highly recommend checking him out!! Your hair will thank you! read more

Hands down one of the best salon experiences I have ever had. This was my first blow out ever and I can absolutely say after this experience it won't be my last! I have very curly hair and struggled to manage it until i got a very mild Brazilian Blowout to wear my hair natural and have it be less frizzy (and use less product). I have a fear putting heat on it because every time I have gotten it professionally done in the past , my curl pattern took 2-3 weeks to bounce back after regular washes and some curls never bounced back. Not this time!! My curls bounced back immediately after the first wash post Blowout with the King! I ask a lot of questions about the process in the salon and Michael was very accommodating and took the time to learn about my lifestyle , day-to-day scheduling, and how to best incorporate loving my hair and taking care of it and which products will and won't work for me . My blowout lasted over a week (probably could've lasted longer tbh it was still in tip top shape when i washed it) and I only passed a straightener through it to touch it up and wrapped it a silk bonnet to help keep it straighter longer. I will definitely be going back regularly! read more

I read another review recently on his page (have to give him props for sharing) and it made me feel more confident that I wasn't alone. In short, I LOVED my blowout but wasn't blown away by Michael. Michael was not a big conversationalist with me- I felt like I had put him off or annoyed him in some way when I arrived at the salon. He seemed confused by my arrival even though I booked online and wasn't very welcoming. He was very short and to the point- what do you want done to your hair? I left wondering if I didn't fit his "mold" of a young 20 something that books blowouts with him. For this reason, I am not sure I will go back because I don't feel that he made the effort to connect with me. After reading all the reviews about how friendly he was, I am wondering where the disconnect is. But again, the wash and the blowout was truly amazing. I felt like a QUEEN leaving. My blowout lasted several days. Best blowout in RVA hands down. Just wanted to share my experience so maybe if you go in with the expectation that he isn't warm and fuzzy, the experience will be better! I love his drive and presence on social media, so nothing against him at all. Just my honest review that my expectation didn't match how I felt leaving. read more

Wow. Just BLOWN away with how good he can make hair look. I have never seen my hair look so good and it lasted for 2 days. You can tell he has really perfected his work and cares for the customers who walk through his door. He also provided great recommendations on how I can improve my hair which I really appreciated. Cannot recommend this place enough. read more

I love Michael's blowouts and my hair has never looked better. The Olaplex blowout transformed my hair and really helped me stretch between cut/color appointments. The price is such a great value considering how long it lasts for me! Treat yoself. read more

Michael is so genuine and super fun to talk to. I usually will treat myself to a blowout every once in a while and I stumbled across Michael's Instagram and I saw a little of his work and booked an appointment with him! He is super easy to talk to and he makes the blowout a whole entire "experience" for his guests. Not only is he extremely talented but he's just super cool. I recommend everyone get a blowout every week if they can! It's good for the soul. Thanks Michael!! read more

I'm a Jersey girl through & through. My blowouts mean everything to me. Michael does NOT play. He is super thoughtful, talented and fun to chat with. I was very nervous finding someone in Richmond that could cater to my needs & I need look no further. He's my guy. Easy to get to, easy to book and incredible to work with! Couldn't recommend more for a girl who takes her blowouts seriously! read more

Michael is a such a professional and is true to his craft. You can tell when someone loves what they do and owns it -- it's powerful! He makes the appointment relaxing and also educational so that you leave with more than just a fabulous head of hair. I know more about my hair than I did before I went in. My hair has held well so far after my first visit and I'm looking forward to a continued relationship with the Blowout King! Thank you! read more

6 months ago, I would have never considered a blowout, but after sitting in Michael's chair once, I am ADDICTED! The blowout was amazing, he knew exactly how to style my hair to fit my personality and look. I walked out holding my head a little higher and the best part is the blowout lasted for days and days, even after a workout and sleeping...it just kept bouncing back. On top of that, Michael is such a great conversationalist, makes you feel immediately like a friend and listens to your goals. I didn't know I needed this as a part of my self-care routine but I am so glad that it is now! read more

The man knows his hair! I always leave feeling fabulous with fresh hair that lasts for days. Michael is awesome and the price can't be beat!

I've never meet someone with as much passion for hair as Michael. He takes care of my hair the right way, every single time, and continues to try to educate the people who come to sit in his chair. Highly recommend adding him to your regular hair maintenance appointments! He really is the blowout king, and thankfully he's here in RVA. read more

Decent, not great blowout. Ridiculous price of $75 for someone with already thin, straight hair. Michael had zero (almost annoyed) personality and only showed happy emotion when he was paid. Very disappointed! Based on reviews I expected way better service. read more

Y'all, if you are even considering getting a blowout with Micheal, book it now! He has done 3 blowouts for me over the past several months, two of which were for wedding activities, and each one was not only AMAZING, but he gave me more than I could have ever imagined! My hair is thin and tends to always be flat, even with styling, but he changed that for me and truly showed me what can be done with my hair! Thank you so much, Micheal! read more

I had never had a true blow out only experience till Michael but now that I have I am hooked. His blow outs include wash, blow out and styling (my hair always looks and feels amazing after). So ladies book your appointments when you have that big meeting or date night or just need a pick-me-up! Here's what makes him unique: 1. He has a great range of appointments from early morning to later evening (and weekends)! 2. It's just him running the whole business but he seems to hold it down pretty effortlessly. 3. He likes to have conversations that dive deeper than the weather and the latest Kardashian drama. (I'm sure he will talk to you about Kim and her children named after a compass if you really want to though)! ;-) 4. His online booking system is really easy to use. Pro tips: There is free parking on the streets behind Broad if you don't mind walking a couple blocks. Also make sure to follow his Instagram and get on his mailing list because he does run specials from time to time! read more
