My wife got her hair cut here and they did a horrible job. They cut the back of her hair completely straight. She wanted it layered also, and the layers were completely straight. We didn't take a photo of it, but i found a picture that resembles how badly the layers were done. read more

If I could give 0 star that would be an accurate rating for my experience. I'm new from H town. I'm a little spoiled when it comes to getting immediate service's. I called to schedule an appointment and was told I had to first make an appointment for a "consultation " & if we agreed on pricing to do a balayage then I can schedule an another appointment to get the services performed . I had Never heard of that before, but went with it. Went on time, to be told it was 30 minutes out. Which they rescheduled the time at last mimute and then acted like it had always been @ 30 minutes later. ( 'made me feel a little crazy ). Consultation was also changed because stylist called in sick. Got a young consultant and after we agreed on price, she gave me almost a month before she could perform the services!! I made it clear I needed in 2 weeks or less for a Photoshoot before I made appointment. Because I couldn't wait a month in Oct!!! I left very disappointed & felt I wasted my time!! She never suggested someone else, or tried to help at all. She just smiled and apologized and let me walk out the door. After I left I got a call from "Anna"explaining the absence and change of scheduled time and was told there were many other stylist that could have helped! I was so let down by what could have been a great experience, but it appears there is no leadership, organization, or good business Protocol. Everyone is running their own personal business with little if no regard for the company as a whole. Never have I ever seen such a "cluster mess" in all my 40 years I've been getting professional hair done. I Do not recommend this place unless you know someone and can get in when it's convenient to the customer. Where is the owner Or manager ? Great place for hair and a drink! Ha! The girls are super friendly and fun. And, oh yeah, did I mention they do great hair! ;) Yvonne has helped me out several times already and I always walk out with amazing hair! Recently I got the Brazilian Blow out and it's the best I've ever had!!! I had tried it twice before else where and was not impressed especially for the price. Now I am a believer lol. Follow them on social media and you'll see what a service the provide. I also want to add that they've been doing a great job of updating you that they are either running late or ahead of time which tells me they truly care about your time. Absolutely love The Blow Barr, I've been going to them for almost 3 years now and I've pretty much tried every stylist that works there. I don't have a favorite since their all pretty good! I got all my friends and family to go there too! Definitely recommend and the bonus is they will serve you a beverage or cocktail. However, the only thing is you have to ask for it which is uncomfortable. I wish they would offer it once you sit down. This is why I keep Their business because it's a time I get to get out of the house kid free and get my hair done and having a mimosa in hand is nice and relaxing. And if the glass is empty, ask your customer if they want a refill! read more

I really wanted to like this place, but after thinking about my experience for a few days I was not very impressed. The one thing this place has going for them is the look of the salon. Very cute and trendy with a lot of really great "girly" decor. The rest of my experience, though, fell short. I had an appointment scheduled for a full face wax at 6:30pm. I arrived a little before that and the only girl working (I believe her name was Rita) was way in the back and shouted up to me if I had an appointment and asked me if I was in a rush because it would be awhile. She was in the back dying someone's hair and apparently I had to wait for her to be done. The wait was very awkward. There was no music playing in the salon, which was weird to me. Then, while I was waiting a whole family walked in and the girl working stopped what she was doing to answer their questions, then continued with the girl in the back. I read online that they offer wine and coffee here so I was at least looking forward to that to make up for the fact that I waited over 20 minutes past my appointment time without being seen. This, however, didn't happen. I was offered a miniature bottle of water and that was it. I've been offered wine at barber shops when I go with my fiancé when he gets his hair done and I'm not even getting a service. I should have at least been offered that as a paying customer. Finally, at 7pm (30 minutes after my appointment) I was finally told to come back. She asked me to sit in a chair meant for doing hair and had me arch my neck way back so she could do the wax. If you're going to offer waxing services at your salon, shouldn't you have a chair appropriate for doing that so I don't have to strain my neck? She did the wax, which turned out good, but I didn't end up leaving until almost 7:30pm. In my humble opinion, it's bad form to make customers wait a half hour after an appointment. I'm not sure if she got double booked or if she was helping out a friend/walk-in, but it put a bad taste in my mouth. The whole experience was uncomfortable and awkward. I made an appointment a week ago online. Received a conformation text to my phone. Went to my 10am appointment and was told that someone had cancelled it. I let the woman know that I had not cancelled the appointment. She replied that she had a long wait list of clients so she put someone else in the appointment slot. I asked if that meant she would not be able to do my appointment and she just said yes and shrugged. I said thank you very much and left. I didn't cancel my appointment. I'm guessing she made a mistake and double booked or there was a problem with the computer system making my appointment. If she had owned up to that and asked to reschedule my appointment I would have been fine with that. But she didn't even try or apologize. I just moved to the area and this was going to be my first appointment here. I was looking to find a stylist I would go to every time I needed a touch up. That will not be this salon now. This is not a typical "blow-dry bar" chain as one would find in larger cities. This blow-dry bar is independently owned and deviates from the standard wash and blow-dry gimmick. The hairstylists actually cut, color, and style hair. They are a super friendly group of young women with a finger on the pulse of what is in. Wendaliz is my mother's hairdresser and she squeezed me in for a last minute appointment the weekend of my birthday. Even though she only had 40 minutes to cut my hair, I got the cutest hair cut ever! I'm begging my mom to rebook an appointment with her the next time I visit home. They use a brand of products that I'm not super familiar with, but whatever Wendaliz sprayed on my hair kept it shiny and bouncy. Their schedule does get super busy, so call in advanced. The store front is hidden from N. 10th Street, but I just tell people it's located in the glass and concrete building complex next to the redbrick bank. Not speaking for anyone else at the blow bar but I am TOTALLY HORRIFIED at the job Yvonne did to my hair. Not only did she bleach the center of my hair and left it in 3 different shades of an orange blonde, she put so much it caused breakage and a HUGE CHUNK of my hair to fall off from the top part of my hair. She tried to cover it up by blow drying my hair to the opposite side and sent me home! She charged me a ridiculous amount just for her to damage my hair AND THEN didn't even style it only blow dry because it was "late". I confronted her about the issue and she offered to "fix" the issue on her schedule which was in 2 weeks and only gave a partial refund. Now I have damaged hair and have to wait for my hair to grow out on top. I am utterly disgusted by the service provided. read more

This haircut was with Michelle Garza. It was the absolute worst haircut I have ever gotten in my life. I had long hair and went in for a shoulder length haircut, with layers so it didn't look chunky or choppy. 1) The hairdresser did not cover me with a cape. Instead she put a "bib" that barely covered my shirt. By the end of the haircut I was COVERED in hair. It clung to my leggings and my t shirt and was SO ITCHY. It was inside of the seat I was in. What a joke. This was the first red flag. I'm so glad I decided not to wear my outfit for the night to this. 2) I scheduled my appointment and told the individual over the phone I needed to be done within an hour because I had an event to attend. The appointment took one and a half hours and the haircut wasn't even completed at that point. 3) I indicated a length for the haircut and requested layers on top. The hairdresser cut my hair ALL ONE LENGTH. I noticed this 45 minutes into the hair cut. I asked if she would add layers and she said she would after she straightened it. 4) It took her 45 minutes to straighten my short bob hair. She DID NOT ADD ANY HEAT PROTECTING PRODUCT to my hair. She straightened my hair naked without protection. I watched as she fried the life out of my hair, with steam emitting from the flat iron as my hair became limp and lifeless. 5) My hair is lopsided. One side is literally longer than the other. I mentioned this to the hairdresser and she said no its even. IT IS NOT EVEN. 6) She DID NOT add layers to my hair. I am home writing this and INFACT the hair on top of my head is LONGER than the hair lower on my head. Only contributing to the CHUNKYNESS of the style. 7) I have RANDOM ELBOW LENGTH HAIRS still attached to my head. Like WHOLE CHUNKS of hair are still long. Absurdly long. I don't understand how you miss this? 8) To the hairdressers benefit, she was really gentle. Like too gentle. Almost like she had never cut anyones hair in her life and she was scared to touch mine and brush it and cut it evenly. 9) After and hour and a half had passed and I was 30 minutes late for my event and she still had not completed the haircut. She barely finished straightening my hair and said "ALL DONE" and I had to ask for a mirror to see the back. And it was CROOKED. And when I pointed it out and asked about it, she said "oh, yea, want me to fix that?" Like she knew it was crooked and bad and was going to let me walk out of there and I'm so glad I asked for a mirror to look at the back. But at this point I was half an hour late for my event, and I didn't want her to do more damage to my hair as she had already made it clear she was INCREDIBLY INCOMPETENT as a hairdresser. I was late to my event with atrocious haircut and too little time to fix it before the event. I have randomly long hairs that she did not cut. The haircut is not even on my head with a huge chunk missing out of the back. NO LAYERS. the lower layers are shorter than the top. The entire thing looks chunky. I'm going to have to pay someone else to completely redo it. Save your time and your money and your hair and go somewhere else. read more

A recent experience at this establishment left me with a rather bitter taste in my mouth. The service wasn't the issue. It was the way that problems were resolved in terms of manager and employees. It created a rather unpleasant vibe that really undermined the talents that were on display. A little respect can go a long way, not only with internal staff but with how you're perceived by customers. read more

I called to make an appointment for a blowout and was asked by the receptionist to leave my credit card information. I was told she could not make an appointment for me unless I did so, this due to all the no shows...NOPE...not a chance! I will go elsewhere...Ulta may be more expensive but at least they don't ask me to leave my CC information to guarantee an appointment. I cannot believe they would ask a new guest to leave cc information, how intrusive! Your no show aren't the customers problem, find another way other than asking for their cc information, especially this day in age with so much identity theft and hacking. read more

So this place is cute and the one girl working today was very nice. However, the customer service I received was abysmal. I had a blow out scheduled. The appointment had been scheduled for a couple weeks. Apparently the woman who does blowouts transferred to a different location. I received two voicemails confirming my appointment time with no info on the new location. I then received a text confirming my appointment. I then showed up and the poor girl working had to track Rita down over the phone. While there were apologies and an attempt to reschedule, Rita attempted to blame my lack of return call on the issue. If there is major information like a brand new location, that should be included in a voicemail. Ultimately, I just don't think they could possibly do anything to my hair to make that nonsense worth spending my money on. read more

I recently came here to get my hair and makeup done for prom and it was outstanding! The customer service was great, everyone was so nice and offered me drinks while I waited. The only thing I was a bit disappointed with was (even though I had an appointment scheduled) waiting for 45 minutes to finally start getting my hair done. They still pulled through though, and I was finished at the time they promised so I could go home and get changed. Ivette did a wonderful job curling my hair and I Leslie did great on my makeup. I recently had my makeup done with Rita...it was the most amazing experience ever!!! She took her time and made sure all colors complimented me well. Really enjoyed the hospitality. From the moment I walked and I was greeted well and when she sat me down immediately she made me feel comfortable.
