I'm sad to say that The Blind Man has become a 1 star company. After two successful Hunter Douglas shade purchases and installs with Tim over the years, I didn't hesitate working with them on a custom Roman shade order. Their son, Ben, helped me find a near perfect fabric match to my curtains, and we were all set to go. However, once the product arrived (5/11/25), the experience went downhill quickly. The new shades look nothing like our previous Roman shades, which were only replaced because after 25 years they no longer were able to go up or down efficiently. The newly installed ones are not tidy or crisp when pulled up or down like our previous Roman shades, even though The Blind Man had them and photos as a reference. Before ordering, I asked to see a sample of what my shades would look like when finished. I was told that because it was a custom order they did not have any samples or even photos to show me. Therefore, I took it on faith that since they had both my shades and photos of them the end result would look like my current shades. Unfortunately, the final product did not remotely resemble my current Roman shades. When they are in the down position, they just hang there like a bedsheet. Each shade also appears to have excess fabric that creates large Vs on both sides of the shade. The craftsmanship of these shades make them something I do NOT want to look at for the next 20 years. Because of my immediate disappointment, on May 13th, my husband contacted The Blind Man via e-mail to find out what could be done. Janie, the consultant/designer, was immediately on it, which we appreciated. However, after her meeting on May 15th with the workroom representative and owner, the owner has been ghosting us under the guise of trying to figure out what to do. We should have had a resolution by May 16th at the latest. It's been almost three weeks now since we started e-mailing and stopping in to find out about these poor quality shades. At this point, we would just like the shades removed and our money returned. I would NOT recommend working with this company if you need custom shades or draperies. Their final product does NOT meet expectations, and the owner's communication with customers is subpar. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I will continue to update this review to note how long it takes them to resolve this issue to our mutual satisfaction. read more

They've had our blinds since the summer of 2024 every time we call they have a different excuse they never return calls I would never recommend these guys when the guy picked up our blinds he said I hope you're not in a hurry to get him back well I thought he meant just like a month or so we're closing in on a year if you're thinking about buying blinds don't go to this place read more

Please take this review seriously. The Blind Man ordered our blinds 12/24/24, came to install 3/10/25. There was an issue with the power blind, likely caused by the electrician we hired. The installer helped us get it all straightened out and said a new motor would take about 2 weeks to come in, quick swap for install. We have contacted The Blind Man no less than 50 times. The only reply we've received is via email from the sales person-after we reached out to her for help. Unfortunately, there was still nothing that happened after her email reply. We contacted Hunter Douglas directly for help after 2 months of silence on an eta for our blinds. Even they had issues with contacting The Blind man. They even asked if we'd drive by to see if they'd gone out of business. Almost 3 months later now Hunter Douglas, not the Blind Man has told us The Blind Man needs to send our blinds out for the new motor-there was never a motor on order. The Blind Man has our money and our blind. Over 5 months now from ordering a very expensive product. We have a temporary, paper blind taped up in our great room, not the blind we ordered. We have no way of knowing when or if we will get our blind. No one has let us know if The Blind Man sent our blinds back for repair, any timeline, no communication whatsoever. We have used The Blind Man in the past without issue. Something has changed there. I've emailed the owner twice with no reply from him, either. Be careful where you spend your hard earned dollars. Had Hunter come out to help me choose a shade to go behind my Bamboo panels to keep glare down. He was so helpful and professional. We decided on one and he even suggested a Hub for wireless raising and lowering. Right up my alley. Love tech stuff. Highly recommend The Blind Man and Hunter!! read more

We needed to replace drapes in our living room and curtains in our son's bedroom. We decided to go with honeycomb style blinds in the living room and new curtains in the bedroom. The curtains are nice - they're curtains, but the blinds are AMAZING. Our living room looks so much more modern. We are able to control how much light we allow in, and exactly which windows allow that light. The only problem we had was narrowing down all of the choices that were available. We couldn't be more pleased. Nancy (and Hunter) were great to work with. We're currently waiting on our dining room window to be replaced, and then will order a blind for there. With regard to the curtains, the rod that was initially ordered and installed had a slight defect, but they replaced it with no hassle or issues. read more

Stopped by their store looking for wood blinds. Found what we wanted there at a good price. They came to our house to measure the opening and check with us on how we wanted them to be installed. A few days later they showed up and installed them. We have had them since 2015. The work great look great as well. Their employees were great and always interested on our needs. I would recommend them for any window blinds you need. read more

Gentleman was very nice. We had an estimate for 3 individual standard (double hung) windows, we asked for the cheapest blinds. Had to wait for estimate to be email back to us 6 days later. Estimate came in at $25,000 with lifetime warranty. Not sure how good a lifetime warranty is when you are well into your 60s and disabled. Needless to say we went elsewhere and were money ahead. read more

Definitely the place to go to get all set up with a fresh pair of shutters, blinds, and even upholstery fabrics and drapes! If you don't know what you want, the staff is amazing and will always go out of their way to guide you through your options. I used to work there and it was literally a pleasure. Tim and Sherri (the owners) have been family friends of ours for a long time and they are amazingly wonderful, honest people, along with the rest of the staff! After replacing windows in an older part of the church, to match windows in a newer part of the church, we needed blinds that were comparable. We went to The Blind Man and found exactly what we needed. They matched the blinds as closely as possible in style, color and functionality. We got an estimate at the store, and then they came out to measure. The estimates were very close. I was very happy with the great customer service from The Blind Man. I had broken the bracket for my Lafayette blind made in 2006 and searched the internet to get a replacement part. I had a hard time finding anyone who handled Lafayette blinds. I eventually found The Blind Man and called them. Michelle was super helpful in getting the part identified. It ended up only being a $2 part!!! She took payment over the phone for part + reasonable shipping, and even personally took the box to the post office for me! Great customer service for someone like me who is unlikely to need anything from them again. I will definitely contact them again if I ever do need anything I think they can help with. read more

I recently called for a screw that had fallen off my drapery rod. I tried to replace it myself but the bracket that fell off did not match the other side. I couldn't figure out how to attach it since the sides didn't match. repairman came, and made repair. THAT COST ME $75 for a little screw. Shame on you! Been waiting on our curtain setup to be fixed for over 2 weeks now . My landlord has called them repeatedly and I've called as well and every single time we are told we're at the top of the list and it should be done within the next day or two. This is clearly untrue and I'm really sick of being lied to. Our apartment has an entire window wall and without the curtains it is raising the temperature 10 degrees during the day, as well as letting everyone walking by see into the apartment. This is one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had with a company. read more
