Lex was amazing and she went above and beyond to help my fiancée find his tuxedo. My fiancée and I had such a pleasant experience at Black Tux. It was very easy to make an appointment online. When we got there, we immediately felt welcomed and comfortable because Lex was so kind. The entire process of measuring and fitting took less than an hour considering all the details and effort Lex put into the fitting. I trusted Lex's insight on every detail and the little touches! She is definitely experienced because she knew exactly what we were looking for. We were able to find the perfect look for my fiancée and we couldn't be happier. Terrible customer service - trying to make an appointment is not easy - the day before my son's appointment, he received a cancellation for no reason. I called customer service and they were very unhelpful. They could tell me why the appointment was cancelled, but they kept trying to push us to order via their website. read more

Leaving a review for Lulu, who was incredibly helpful in fitting and ordering a suit. I would recommend 10/10.

First, the good: The website is well designed, the prices are fair, the staff are friendly, and they do have lots of options for rentals. Now the bad: I needed a rental tux for a wedding. Rather than order online, I stopped by the Brooklyn shop so that I could be fitted and see and try on the various suits and accessories. The staff was very friendly and helpful. After the measurements were taken, I tried on a few samples in my size and made my selection. I opted to pick it up at the store. Unfortunately, I couldn't get back until 3 days before the wedding and that's where the problems started. When I unboxed the suit, the sleeves were so badly wrinkled they looked pleated and the shawl collar was so creased that it wouldn't lie flat. The salesperson told me that maybe if I put it in a steamy bathroom the wrinkles would come out... nothing about the collar. Next, the jacket didn't fit at all. It was so tight that it looked like I was trying to jam myself into a children's size. I'm pretty off-the-rack (40 short) and the samples had fit perfectly. When asked how this suit could be so off, the salesperson said, "maybe the sample had stretched out a little". Huh? All of them??? The only solution was to either order a larger size, (the sample swam on me) or try my luck and get another in my size... all for a $40 rush charge (I'll admit, I left little lead time but, even so, the jacket was a mess). Since I was stuck, I took the suit and paid to have it professionally steamed and pressed. Won't be able to button it, so I'll stand behind others for the photos. Their way of handling their business in light of CoVid-19 is actually appalling. No one could've predicted CoVid-19 getting as serious as it is now back a year or two ago when everyone was planning for their events. The fact that they're not being accommodating to the parties that had to cancel because of CoVid-19, an act of God(not controllable by human means), is actually just terrifying. Offering an in-store credit voucher is just not enough. I can understand if it was some kind of fault on my side where I messed something up, but no. What happened was out of my control and now I don't need a tux anymore. I'm seeing MANY other stores that are doing a upstanding job of handling their business in regard to CoVid-19. Issuing full refunds, helping postpone events, etcetc. It makes me believe that those guys actually care about me in this time of crisis. I do not care if its because you're company is going to lose money if you start giving people full refunds. News flash guys, EVERYONE ELSE is literally being a human being in this time of pandemic. I'm the kind of person that I want to support companies that I feel like have good-hearted people no matter the price, and honestly I feel like The Black Tux just doesn't have them. Honestly never going to shop at The Black Tux ever and will also recommend others to not bring their business here. Stay as FAR away from this place as you possibly can. My fiancé and I just got back from our appointment at the Black Tux in Nordstrom and it was great ! Our appointment was scheduled for 6pm and we were seen 10 minutes later. We sat down with John who was super easy going and funny which made our experience much more enjoyable. He didn't pressure my fiancé to pay for his tuxedo on the spot, he just helped him coordinate his wedding day outfit and accessories and measured him perfectly ! Highly recommend this service! The whole process was easy. My husband went into the store to be fitted, the guy helping him was extremely helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. The delivery and return of the try-on was sent with adequate time to correct any changes in size. This was not the case with my husband because everything fit perfectly. The tux arrived on time for a wedding we were attending in another state which made the return easy, just fed ex it back. No running to the rental store to get it back in time. The representative who was "helping" us was extremely rude and uninterested. I went here with my husband for his suit on our wedding day. They got the pants wrong two times, canceled appointments on two of the groomsmen and provided no guidance to my father who also used their service. Loved the experience. So easy to order. I have a problem with my shirt and jacket been too big, I called them and let them know and within days I had a replacement that fit perfect. I went to a Nordstrom location to get fitted since I acted very last min. They fitted me and delivered quickly, even gave me an extension on return due to my out of country destination wedding. Thought it was kind of pricey in the beginning, but the quality and fit is totally worth it. I looked amazing and love the fact that I can change it up for different weddings. Every thing about the whole process was top notch. The attention to detail every step of the way: Fitting, materials, quality of items, shipment, returns....all hassle free and of the highest quality. Never going any where else for a future tux rental. Going to recommend to all my friends. Also, as a professional musician, it's good to know that any items in your rental can be held onto for purchase (which is very reasonably priced BTW).
