    Butter Chicken Fries

I don't know exactly what I expected but what I received blew me out of the water. Pleasantly surprised at a few things here (1) the sheer size of the portions for a somewhat reasonable/expected price (2) the creativity of the butter chicken fries (3) the crunch of the pani puri appetizer balls and all the wonderfully savory fillings that came with and (4) THAT BUTTERY NAAN. The interior is gorgeous, clean, and unique. Easy takeout food right around the corner from our new place and it certainly won't be the last time.

We're excited to have an Indian restaurant in the area. We went during their happy hour to take advantage of the half off select appetizers and $3 off cocktails, though they have other deals for beer/wine. The service was great and the restaurant is perfect for a date night or a catch up with friends. The loaded butter chicken fries were surprisingly the highlight of our meal and we would definitely get it again. Everything else we tried was pretty good but the food could be served warmer and with more spice when ordered above mild. We'll be back to try more!

Searching for great Indian food in Richmond? Look no further. The Biryani Corner, which just opened about a month ago, is here! Decided to try this place on a Saturday night. Boy, it was soo good! The place is lovely and spacious. Our server Jillian gave us great recommendations, was very helpful and attentive. The "Ek-Do-Theen" Dip Trio was hot, freshly made naan with 3 different dips: whipped paneer, roasted eggplant, and beetroot yogurt. This was delicious. Whipped paneer was my favorite! Loaded butter chicken fries was great. It was served with special white sauce, butter chicken, red onions, cilantro and jalapeno. The chicken biryani and lamb biryani were served in cute pots. They were awesome. Delicious and very flavorful! I super liked my mango lassi - a sweet, creamy delight! For dessert, I tried mango kulfi and chai leches. The mango kulfi was house made mango ice cream. It did taste mango but it was little tough for me. The chai leches was their take on tres leches with masala chai and whipped topping. It was so soft; it was alright. Overall, the food and service were awesome. Would highly recommend and would definitely be back!

It was the perfect location to celebrate our nieces graduation from The University of Pittsburgh!

We tried Biryani Corner after seeing it posted with great reviews in some local Facebook groups. We were concerned about parking-- plenty of parking! When we walked in we felt like we were no longer in Richmond-- the inside had such a "happening vibe!" They really did a great job with the decor! We were immediately greeted and seated when we arrived. We probably went overboard on the appetizers and they all were amazing!! We loved the Gobi Manchurian and the Loaded Butter Chicken Fries were everything promised by the reviews-- order 2!!! We ordered a huge variety of entrees as well... everything was delicious especially the hot, buttery naan! The the Butter Chicken was probably our family favorite for all of the obvious reasons! Top notch service, large portions and a fabulous ambiance-- definitely try them out and btw, they can easily accommodate large parties!

Service was excellent, ambiance was enjoyable, and meals were delicious! Made me want to live right there in the Rocketts Way building! So many choices, so little time!

I'm usually not a fan of Indian cuisine, but The Biryani Corner completely changed my perspective. I took my mom here during her visit, and she instantly said this will now be her go-to spot every time she's in town. That says a lot. We started with the Loaded Butter Chicken Fries. WOW. Creamy, crispy, flavorful, and just the right amount of heat. I ordered them because I wanted my mom to try something unique, and we ended up scraping the plate clean. No regrets. It's easily my favorite dish here. Afterwards we both ordered the Lamb Bowl with a side of Sweet Potato Fries. Let me be clear, I do not like sweet potato fries... and yet I could not stop eating these. Perfectly seasoned, crispy, and served with a creamy dip that brought it all together. Our server Will was fantastic. Attentive, friendly, and made sure everything came out quickly. You could tell he cared about the experience and genuinely enjoyed connecting with the customers. Great food. Great vibe. Great service. What more could you ask for? If you're anywhere nearby, stop what you're doing and go eat here. Trust me. Even if Indian food isn't usually your thing, The Biryani Corner might just make you a fan.

Biryanis is a weekly affair for my wife and when the Biryani Corner opened, we had to try it out. The location is slightly out of the way for us but the restaurant is spacious and there's plenty of parking. For appetisers, we ordered the Pani Puri -- the potato stuffing tasted slightly stale but the rest of the ingredients tasted great. Due to the ongoing avian flu, we ordered the Paneer Biryani with spice level 2. It was spicy for us but at the same time, we couldn't stop eating it. The Tamarind Julep unfortunately didn't go well with the biryani. To wrap things up, we ordered the Gulab Jamun Sundae -- which hit all the right spots! Overall, we had a great time at the Biryani corner.

Food was great everything I got was good, service was excellent the bartender knew everything I asked about. The inside was beautiful nice and cozy. Great place will definitely recommend

I'd like to take this opportunity to comment on a few words about my experiences at The Biryani Corner 4821 Old Main St, Henrico, VA 23231 When we first arrived, we were greeted by the staff and were immediately seated at the bar. Will ran through multiple dishes to give us a full detail of what to expect, the flavor, spice levels, and or changes that the cook could do so that we were completely satisfied. Everything on the menu looked and sounded good, prior to getting our food order placed Will made sure to get our drink order and made several suggestions, depending on our interests, for example the Tamarind Mint Julep. My friend is a big margarita fan, so she got a Margarita Lychee which was crafted to perfection. I am normally a fan of drinks with Malibu rum, so Will prepared a Mango Boozey Lassi for myself. I don't ever drink frozen drinks with a meal, and I didn't know how it was going to react with the Indian food I was preparing to receive, but it was excellent and had a lot of flavors. After receiving our drinks, in a quick fashion our order was placed. We started with the Pani Puri, which was incredibly good and had so much flavor. My friend and I split that dish as a starter and toward the end we had to break the last piece in half because it was that good. My friend ordered Butter Chicken and that was excellent as well. I ordered the Chicken 65 with I think the mild spice level, it couldn't have been any better. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were bold, and everything we had just the right amount of kick without being overpowered. Will and Marleni gave us a heads up to try and start with mild, it's not overly spicy like some places that just kill a dish by making it intolerably spicy. Our meals came with Butter Naan and Garlic Naan, which were hot and fluffy, a nice size and cut nicely for serving. The cook Fernando did an absolutely tremendous job with our meals, and Biryani Corner is lucky to have him. While we were at the bar eating, the staff was very nice, polite, friendly and helpful. After some time, the manager Rameez came in and greeted us very professionally and made us feel welcome, which made the experience even better. Rameez gave us a little background on the restaurant, telling us it hasn't even been under this ownership for a year yet. From the beautiful decor, warm lighting, authentic music, and homestyle energy, we would not have known that. You feel at home and the food was at a whole other level. If we asked Rameez, Will or Marleni for anything, they were helpful, it's very obvious that this restaurant focuses solely on perfecting their food, and making their guests feel special. The staff and kitchen must take the extra step not to fail, because their guests must love the food and atmosphere here. I say that because we notice the whole time we dined in, a lot of people came in for takeout orders, and if they dined in then the staff knew them as regulars. The food was so good that I wanted to order more food to take later, but I was so full I didn't even have space to finish our dessert, the Chocolate Samosa. The kitchen prepares everything so fresh that Will even told us that the vanilla cream that comes with the Chocolate Samosa is made to order. The good selection of items and variety on the menu is indescribable. The staff was even extra helpful when a customer came in kind of late, near the time the bar and kitchen was closing. Will went to great lengths to satisfy the customer with what the restaurant could offer her at the time of the hour so that she could be completely satisfied. To the individual or business owners that is listed as the verified owner for this business profile, please bring to Rameez, Will, Marleni, and Fernando's attention that they were recognized in this review for their outstanding efforts. Keep satisfying us with the highest quality services and delivering value to your friends, family and customers.

We were craving Indian cuisine for a while and decided to give TBC a try. We had the butter chicken and the lamb buryani, both of which were delicious and very flavorful. Their cocktails are also a good choice too. We were wanting to try the loaded butter chicken fries, but unfortunately never received them. However, we did receive a complementary mango lassi on the house since our food took a little longer than expected. It was absolutely phenomenal and definitely helped cool down the spice. The restaurant itself was gorgeous with green overhangs and large paintings throughout the building. It had a very modern touch. I wish I had taken more pictures, but we are so excited to come back and eat here again!

I was pleased when I came to know of an Indian restaurant on this side of Richmond, since most are on the west end. Was super excited to try out their interesting takes on some of the menu items! I went with my husband and my 1 yr old son on a Friday evening- made a reservation but looks like we didn't need to, it wasn't busy but not empty either. The decor is beautiful and inviting. After reading some of the other reviews, we got the butter chicken fries and they did not disappoint! We polished that off pretty quickly, and my son loved it too. Win! For drinks we got the Lychee margarita (delicious, but a salt rim rather than a sugar rim would have been better) and the TBC old fashioned (nice and smoky, barely sweet). For mains we got the tandoori chicken and the coconut shrimp. While the tandoori chicken was on on point, the salad that came with it was a little odd with almonds on it. Was not a fan of that. The coconut shrimp, while succulent, had sauce with way too many curry leaves in it. I ended up taking the leftovers home and straining the sauce for it to be more palatable. The garlic naan accompaniment was flavorful but crispier than fluffy. That said, portion sizes were decent. Staff was attentive and courteous. We will return, so we can try some of the other items. The location is great with plenty of parking in the lot to the side of the building.

A must stop in the downtown Richmond area!…read more It's truly a speakeasy with the door posing as a bookshelf. To get in, you must know the password or tell the host a joke that makes him laugh. We were escorted in and quickly noticed that this was more than a speakeasy-it was a full restaurant. We stopped in for drinks, but it was nice to have tapas. I got the popcorn with the Tequilla lime butter, which was the perfect balance of salt. I had a mezcal drink which was perfect! I'm such a fan of mezcal and am excited when I see it on the menu. Our waitress was a delight-super attentive and also a bartender so she was able to answer all of our drink questions. It was very spacious with outdoor seating. Definitely a 10/10 experience. I would definitely go again!

He asked for the password and we, unprepared, had to tell him a joke or an interesting fact. Luckily, my partner had one on hand. The atmosphere was lovely, very reminiscent of a 1920s speakeasy, or at least what you'd imagine it to be like. Our server came by within a few minutes of us being seated. She lacked enthusiasm, unlike the host, unfortunately. Her service turned out to be lackluster as well. We ordered the chicken pot pie and the filet mignon with asparagus. For drinks, the Grape Gatsby and Maine root beer. The food, like our server, lacked appeal. The saving grace was the host and the atmosphere. The view was lovely and the intimacy of the setting was a welcome experience. For dessert we ordered the bread pudding, and it was tasty, though nothing special. The burned odor that we smelled prior to its arrival turned out to be the bread. I can recommend Grandstaff and Stein as an experience, but you should not expect much in the way of culinary delights or exemplary service. We probably won't be back, but if you've never been, it's worth trying at least once.

We landed on The Roosevelt, and I can confidently say it was one of the best meals I've had in Richmond. The restaurant was packed when we arrived, but we managed to snag two seats at the bar. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly and welcoming maître d', setting the tone for the evening. The bartenders were equally impressive eith one a true Chatty Cathy, the other more reserved, but both were masters of their craft, creating unique and distinctive cocktails with ease. We started with the cornbread and maple butter syrup. My only complaint? Can a girl get a little more butter? The cornbread itself was dense, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Next came a small plate of squash served over sweet potato hummus. This dish completely surprised me. The flavor profile reminded me of Haitian cuisine, meaning it was warm, layered, slightly sweet, and carrying just enough heat to keep things interesting. It was creative, distinctive, and honestly one of the highlights of the meal. For our entrées, Jackie chose the steelhead trout while I opted for the scallops served pescatarian-style with ramp clam chowder. Let me tell you something: this was the first time in my life that I genuinely enjoyed clam chowder. The scallops were perfectly prepared, and the chowder elevated the entire dish. Every bite was exceptional. Of course, we couldn't leave without dessert. We shared the chocolate chess pie, and it was everything you want in a chocolate dessert, a dense, fudgy, rich, and utterly decadent. It was so good that I went home, climbed into bed, and happily surrendered to a food coma. What stood out most was that The Roosevelt delivered on every level: hospitality, atmosphere, creativity, and execution. The meal was worth every dime, and I will absolutely be bringing visiting friends and family here in the future. For anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience in Richmond, The Roosevelt has earned a permanent spot on my recommendation list.

Each & every dish was a culinary creative canvas that enticed, tantalized & totally enthralled our palates. For my cocktail I ordered The Seersucker, which was made with my favorite bourbon Four Roses. The drink was velvety smooth & a soothing complement to my food. As our appetizers we ordered Cornbread, the BBQ Spiced Chicken Wings & the Chicken Fried Pig Ears. Everything was absolutely delightful. The pig ears were an especially nice surprise as they were melt in your mouth tender & full of flavor. There was a horseradish sauce accompanying the pig ears & the sauce was creamy & not overpowering with horseradish flavor[i don't even usually like horseradish but this dish truly gave me a new experience of that flavor]. I would definitely order the pig ears again. The Cornbread was cute & tasted like cornbread I grew up in the Country eating. I could eat a whole skillet of the cornbread. The chicken wings were tender & nicely seasoned. I really enjoyed the white BBQ that was drizzled over them. As our Entrees, we ordered 2 Catfish & 1 Flounder Catch of the Day. Both dishes were delicious. The fish was not overly seasoned, as I so often encountered with seafood dishes, both dishes allowed the diner to actually taste the depth & simplicity of the fish. Both dishes are also items I would order again. Our server was courteous, attentive & knowledgeable concerning menu item choices. When it was time for us to leave, as I think we stayed way past the dining allotment time, the hostess was very respectful in explaining to our table there was a reservation behind us. I appreciate that type of honesty & treatment in a dining facility. As mentioned so many times previously I will be returning to The Roosevelt. They have definitely made a fan out of me.
