This is one of the cutest cafes I have ever been to! The attention to detail in the decoration is great, and the food and drinks here are just the icing on the cake. I actually first tried something from here during the farewell event for line 5 at STC. There were booths for local businesses set up and The Birchcliff was one of them. I tried their pumpkin chocolate chip loaf, which was so moist and decadent. Afterwards, I really wanted to come and give their food a try, and was definitely not disappointed. I came to co-work with some friends, and tried their coffee and the caramel apple almond croissant (which is seasonal I believe). The coffee was fine, and croissant was amazing! It felt like a cross between an apple pie and almond croissant.

Violet vanilla latte and Raspberry danish

During the winter, I tend to suffer heavily from cabin fever. A local cafe serving up a hot cuppa joe is the exact cure and The Birchcliff gets bonus points for its proximity. This coffee shop serves up a ton of caffeinated beverages ranging from drip coffee to cappuccino. They also offer up other types of drinks such as teas if you're not a coffee drinker. Lactose alternatives such as oatmilk will cost you a teeny bit extra, but they do offer it! Not only are their drinks superb, but they've got killer pastries. My love handles echo these sentiments. I personally love the raspberry danish - and the chocolate brownie, while dense, is a great gluten-free option. Only downer is that depending on the time of day, there may not be as much seating. I always find a seat on the high bench at the back, but a table makes it easier to work. If you need to hook up your gadgets, this place is limited with the number of sockets. They do make up for it with their homey aesthetic!

Pear Danish, hot chocolate, macadamia nut latte, and chai latte

Loved this place! I went here In the middle of the day with my children for some croissants and hot chocolate. Unfortunately, when we went inside around 1, most of everything we were looking forward to try were sold out. We ended up trying the pear Danish and chocolate chip cookie. I had the macadamia nut latte, which was absolutely wonderful. Due to the Covid restrictions they have no indoor dining. They have setup heaters outside in their patio. We had a great time and defiantly can't wait to go back to try more.

This is located just by the lake on the east east end of Toronto/Scarborough! No matter how far the good coffee shops are.. takes me to places and I didn't regret driving all the way here. I have ordered a flat white and a croissant.. coffee was great and croissant was tasty! Also they have a very friendly customer service.. as the hour progressed people started coming and it became quite busy in no time. Wasn't expecting that for a shop which is not in the actual city but was happy to see and glad to know everyone enjoys the shop The interiors are so good and very well maintained overall. I would definitely visit this place again if I am in the neighborhood again

This is my kind of cafe. Beautifully designed and decorated. I enjoying having a coffee here with my girlfriend as we both admire the space. The brewed coffee is smooth and not acidic. Doesn't leave the film feeling on your tongue. The latte is good too. The foam is almost marshmallow like. My favourite latte yet.

love this spot! whenever i'm needing a pick me up - this cafe is always the one i stop at. whether it's there iced lavender lattes, savoury / sweet scones or taking a moment to sit down and appreciate the cute decor - you're going to love it too :) the service is quick and the staff offers up some great recommendations. in the summer, they had some live music and plenty of outdoor seating too.

Such a good place! Love the hipster rustic vibes, friendly staff and the scones are DELICIOUS and fresh. Only street parking, but I'd come back!

Cute little coffee shop on Kingston road. Came here to get some work done and also have a cup of matcha latte. The cafe is cute and prices are like any other cafe in Toronto. I like that they have a non dairy option for your latte. I'll have to come back and try their food.

I met a friend here for coffee. She was raving about this being her absolute favorite place, even better than SB, and that I had to try their lattes. There was plenty of street parking in the area. The place was very quaint, but I was unfortunately underwhelmed by my latte. It was quite strong, and not as hot as I would have expected. I personally didn't find anything special about it :(

Welcoming view on arrival.

Beautiful, welcoming space. A really nice neighborhood shop with lots of seating. A live edge wooden counter at the window and another communal counter mid-shop, adds to the seating provided by many tables and comfy "wicker" chairs. There are benches & 2 umbrellas out front. Beans from Brothers in Oakville, and yummy standard pastries. A few prepared sandwiches & salads are offered. My cappuccino was a little hotter than ideal, but well made otherwise. This would be a good place for live acoustic music! (Hint to owners.)

Plaxton Coffee

Really friendly gentleman working behind the counter and what a gorgeous place. I wish I could sit down, read and have a cup of their amazing coffee. We got a latte and a chai latte. Mmmm so good. The coffee was flavourful but not too acidic and the chai was so delightful. They had a ton of great looking treats to try as well. I highly suggest this place if you need a little pick me up. Even the music was great

Plaxton is a little neighborhood coffee shop that's giving Starbucks a run for its money (or trying…read moreto, anyway). I stopped by in a recent visit to Toronto when it made more sense to wait for my wife than to drive back and forth from our hotel in Mississauga amidst... hey did you know that (unscientific as this may be) traffic may actually be worst on weekends than during the week? Reason is that, while many folks commute using public transit, car owners drive to their destinations on weekends. This is a small, sun-shiny kind of space, with Wifi. The front part, especially, is a good place to bask in the rays. They seem to offer a few food choices for breakfast and lunch, but since I was just looking for a place to hang out for 90 minutes, I was going to be "minimal patron". I thought about another coffee, but decided against it, since I already had double the caffeine I usually consume before noon, I opted for the "cheapest" choice, in the form of a Perrier. Cha-ching and "ouch" and $3.74 later (OK it's CAD, but still), I'm left wondering whether I could have made a better choice: as in, a cookie and that bottle of water I had with me?
