I finally made my visit here to Hola Swim! Thank goodness for social media & knowing one of the…read moregals who has modeled items for Hola Swim. The thing is- I'm seriously the type of shopper who LIKES to see items worn on people & mannequins! Lol This just personally helps me visually. So, I do follow Hola Swim on Instagram (I suggest YOU should too!). The reason I waited this long is because in a few weeks, we're going to a destination wedding in Dominican Republic- and the timing to shop here worked out perfect. This brick & mortar location has been here for a few months. And, every time I've either drove by or walked by- it was closed. BUT, there's a sign posted on the door that says- CONTACT US FOR APPOINTMENTS! And that's EXACTLY what I did. I did contact Hola Swim via their Instagram- and my request for such day & time was immediately answered & there was no hesitation in accommodating me. Whew! I met Syncletica- one of the owners & she was such a gem to meet. We chatted for some time during my visit here. Her & her best friend AND business partner, Aida, have been best friends since they first met at 15 years old while working at the San Diego Zoo. The garments are LOCALLY made here in SAN DIEGO!!! And, I can seriously say the fabrics on their pieces are quality!!! This is what you are paying for!!! You can feel the thickness & stretchiness of the spandex. And, Syncletica has mentioned that the top material is lined w/ UV 50 protectant! You see- as I've mentioned to her- I would normally purchase swimwear at Target. And if you do to (or any other giant retail store) you now exactly what I'm getting at. You know the condition of their quality & the price you're paying. I bought the velvet teal/ blue hooded one piece swimsuit $90 and I'm super excited to wear it in the Caribbean!! The bikinis go for $60/ $65. And there's other merchandise available too. Visors, towels, jewelry, sunglasses, ball caps! The shop is being renovated w/ new tile & adding shelves for a new look. But, I do wanna share my love for Hola Swim! By the way- they've been invited to New York's Fashion Week (and San Diego's), featured in British Vogue, and now have a spot in Destinations (monthly magazine for Uited Airlines)!!! Support local businesses!!!!!

If I can find one I think is special enough or reminds me of something we also picked up a hat, some sunglasses and a few other knickknacks. They had great sandal options as well as T-shirts and hoodies. Great stop. I come every time we visit. Prices are affordable while they do have some things more on the expensive side it is good quality. So I'd say you get nice things for the value they offer.

On 2/25/2024 my girlfriend and I entered the store and picked out and tried on some clothing items. When we presented our gift card we were told by employee: Brayan that they have a new point of sale and we would need to come back after they called us to pick up our items. After a month with no call I called and spoke to the manager who informed me they would not honor the gift cards and I would have to call corporate. So, we called the number on the website as well as make an email showing our gift card receipt and they continue to ignore us. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and will continue to escalate until I receive a full refund of $150. How pathetic I have nothing negative to say about the employees who work there. The were very friendly and helpful but this is inexcusable.

Water temps are about as high as it gets for out here right now, like in low 70s, so for me, thats still cold. I need at least a 4/3 wetsuit for that temp. Yes, I am a pansy and I know it. This place has a really nice section for wetsuits and also some great sales too. I made a beeline for the back of the store to check out what they had available. They have short wetsuits, 3/2s, 4/3s, some with hoods (I like those), some front zippered and some back zipped (this is my preference), children's wetsuits, men and women's also. I already knew what I needed so only had to try on two wetsuits (that was already too much lol - you are ALWAYS fighting wetsuits). Fitting rooms available here and then I went to work battling the wetsuits. I could fit the size 4 but my shoulders are a bit broader and the zipper wasn't like easy to pull, so I went with the size 6. The cost for 4/3 wetsuit here was $150, a pretty good deal. I was just at REI looking at an O'Neill 4/3 and it was over $400! I also picked up some shorts and a bikini top and everything here is severely discounted. Sweet!! Service guy working here was super nice and helpful. He showed me the size chart for wetsuits and helped me get a fitting room and rung me up. Great place to get some water apparel here and know they have wetsuits too. They also have shoes here but not too many options in sizes. They also have bags and other items too (I forgot to look at a wetsuit hood they had on sale here - so will come back). Overall. this place was great! I'll be back! But know the parking is a disaster here, the lot is super tight, just FYI.

Definitely makes a big difference since the clothing products here are definitely on the pricier end. My first time shopping at this retail store and they have a great selection related to swimwear!!! I was interested in buying a wetsuit and was also informed on the differences between the 4/3 and the 5/3 millimeters of the wetsuits. A 4/3 (4mm for the torso and 3mm for the arms) is better for moderate to cold water with higher flexibility, while the 5/3 is warmer and designed for colder, winter waters, and is slightly less flexible. My goal is to be warm as I don't want to feel too cold so I went with the 5/3. There's a good amount of fitting rooms that are good sized to be trying them on. My first time trying on wetsuits and I felt like a seal LOL!!! I purchased one but keep in mind that even with the clearance sale I got it for, it was $120+. My girlfriend tried finding bikinis but there was little sizing for her and lots of the two pieces were separated and the designs weren't matching so she didn't get any.

While some people like to shop for swimsuits in a store as big as a grocery market I prefer a more intimate shopping experience myself. Not only is 7even Beach Boutique only half a block away from the beach, but it also offers a much more personal feel than other swimsuit stores in the area. Every time I walk inside there is someone waiting to greet me and help me find what I am looking for. I don't get this type of service at other swimsuit stores in San Diego. Even though it is not the biggest store, I always find something cute and new that I have not seen before. I hate going to the beach and seeing other girls wearing the same bikini as me so finding something that is new and different is a big priority when I am shopping for a swimsuit. I don't know what it is about them, but Hurley bikini's seem to be my favorite and they always have plenty of new Hurley styles in stock. When I am browsing and trying different suits on, the girls that work there always give me their honest opinion of what they think about each swimsuit. This is good because a lot of other swimsuit stores I have gone to in the past, the employees will say anything looks good just to make a sale. The fact that the girls here are real with me reassures me that I am making the right purchase when I find a bikini I like. read more

I was in Mexico with a few of my girlfriends last weekend and the all had super cute swimsuits. I asked where they usually go bikini shopping and they all started to rave about The Bikini Shoppe in Mission Beach. I didn't really need a new bikini but I told myself I would go and check it out when we got back from Mexico. I decided to drive down to Mission Beach last Tuesday when I was off from work. Luckily it was mid week because they are located right in the prime area of Mission Beach. I was able to find parking right away, across the street, but I feel like if you tried to come here during the weekend you might have trouble parking. Anyways, the shop was super cute on the inside, more like a boutique, I prefer shopping at places like this over big box stores. I was greeted by Lindsay who helped me pick out a few different bikinis to try on. She hit a home run with this one bikini from Frankies. It looked so good on me and fit my body perfectly. I had told myself I wasn't going to buy anything but I couldn't help myself! Luckily it is still beach weather for the next few months and I can show off my new bikini! I was down in Mission Beach the other weekend with a few of my girlfriends and after spending a few hours on the beach we decided to walk around and see if there were any cute shops to check out. We passed a few boring touristy t-shirt shops before walking by a store with a big, bold Bikini sign out front. I am always looking for new swimsuits to add to my collection so we decided to walk in and see if they had anything good. Right away we were greeted by a young girl, probably a local college student. She said hello and told us to let her know if we need any help finding anything. This was nice since I wasn't in the mood to be bothered by some annoying sales associate trying to sell us the most expensive suit in the place. They had so many different brands and they said they had just got the new 2014 collections in so there were a bunch of suits I had never even seen before. They had so many I could have spent hours in there! I found a really cute Luli Fama bikini and my two other girlfriends found some Beach Bunny bikini's they liked. My girlfriend forget get flip flops at home so she made me go buy her a new pair while she set up our spot at the beach. I pulled out my phone and saw there was a bikini shop literally 100 yards away that sold women's flip flops. Luckily I brought my mask because they were requiring everyone to wear face coverings and taking everyone's temperature before entering. I was glad to see a local business following all the state guidelines to keep everyone safe. Anyways, I was approached pretty quickly by a friendly woman named Lindsey who asked me if I needed any help. I guess I stuck out like a sore thumb being in a women's bikini shop. I told Lindsey what I was looking for and she helped me pick out a pair of inexpensive flip flops for my girlfriend. Since I was already there I decided to surprise my girl with a new bikini as well. I showed Lindsey a picture of my girlfriend and explained her style and Lindsey chose a suit that she thought was a good look and size. I have been a regular at the bikini shop for about two years now, and while my wallet isn't too happy about it, my wardrobe always thanks me later. I have a pretty decent collection of bikinis and other swimwear but I am always looking to add to my collection, especially when a new line or style comes out. I can always rely on The Bikini Shoppe to have the newest styles from all my favorite brands, especially Luli Fama and L*Space, my two all time favorite swimwear brands. They also have lots of other clothing items and accessories besides just swimsuits. You could literally walk off a plane and come by here to shop and you could have everything you need to look like a Southern California beach girl. I would also recommend following them on social media to stay up to date with their sales and promotions. You can usually find they are running an end of the year sale or end of season sale where you can stock up on discount pieces for your collection. That is what I do most of the time. read more

My friends and I rented a house in Mission Beach for three days the other weekend and somehow I forgot to bring down my favorite swimsuit. Of course my friends offered to lend me one of theirs but I do not share their same measurements and I didn't feel like being uncomfortable while I was at the beach all weekend. We walked around Mission for awhile, checking out the beach and some other stores, and came across 7even Beach Boutique on the way back to our house. They had some cute suits in the front window so I decided to go in a browse around to see if they had anything I liked. With the help of Stav, the friendly girl that was working behind the counter, I found a really cute Bikini Lab swimsuit with fringe (Don't ask me why but I absolutely LOVE fringe) and decided to buy it. My grand daughter asked me for a new swimsuit for her birthday this year since they were planning on going to Cancun for a few days to celebrate. Now I know absolutely NOTHING about what 22 year old girls think is cool these days when it comes to swimwear so I was in a dilemma. My friends and l were in Mission Beach one weekend and we walked right by this swimsuit shop so I decided to go in and look around. I couldn't believe all the different styles and color combinations they offered! Shopping for a bathing suit was so much more simple when I was a young lady. My work surprised us with an end of the year trip to Cancun since we had surpassed our sales goal from the last two years. I wasn't planning on going anywhere exotic so I was a bit lacking in the swimsuit department. I decided to skip my regular swimsuit store and try somewhere new. I did a little searching online and discovered this bikini shop in Mission Beach. Luckily for me when I showed up they had their end of the year sale going on. They were offering a buy one, get one free on all of their swimsuits. Talk about a good deal! I was planning on only buying one but instead I left with four brand new bikinis. They also had a pretty solid selection of some really great fall inspired beachwear. Some cute flowing dresses and hats. I was able to pick up some cute clothing to go along with my swimsuits. My sister was in town visiting from Ohio where she goes to school. Needless to say there isn't anywhere to buy a bikini in the Midwest in February. She had an upcoming bachelorette party in March in Cabo and she wanted to stock up on a few swimsuits for the trip. I have been living in San Diego for about 6 years now and I have probably been to a dozen bikini shops in the city and none of them come even close to The Bikini Shoppe in Mission Beach. I have never had a bad shopping experience here. I took my sister here over the weekend and we ended up spending an hour trying on all different types of swimsuits. I had always wanted a one piece so I was able to pick out a really cute one while my sister ended up buying three different bikinis. I didn't want to call it a day since we had just gotten there so I hopped on my phone and saw this bikini shop just down the street. I walked over and was super surprised with how amazing their selection was! They had all of my favorite brands including Luli Fama which is sometimes hard to find in San Diego. I couldn't help trying on a few different suits, they had so many cute ones I couldn't decide which one to pick! After about 30 minutes I finally found one that I liked more than all the other ones. My daughters swimsuit broke while we were at the beach and I was scrambling to find a place to buy her a replacement one. We had drive 30 minutes to the beach and spent another 20 minutes looking for a parking place. We were playing in the water for 5 minutes before it broke. We put so much effort into having a fun beach day there was no way I was going to let this ruin it. I whipped out my phone and saw that this bikini shop was only a few blocks away. We walked over and I was relieved to find that they sold some kids swimsuits. I let my daughter pick out one she liked since I had no idea what I was doing. I am an older woman and I don't need some flashy bikini for a swimsuit. I was looking for something super simple, and it had to be a one piece. I can't pull of a two piece bikini at my age (I wish I could). When I first walked into this bikini shop, I have to admit I was overwhelmed and doubtful that they would have the right swimsuit for me. Luckily the girl working at the front desk was very helpful and shopped with myself for almost 1 hour, trying on all kinds of different one pieces. I ended up finding a light blue one that fit perfectly and didn't have too much going on. The best part is that it was on sale! My friend and I ventured down to Mission Beach last weekend and June Gloom was in full effect. Since sun tanning was out of the question we decided to do our second favorite thing, shop! 7even Beach boutique was the second bikini shop we visited. I really liked the location. Usually parking is a real pain in the butt in Mission Beach but it is located right across from the free parking lot at the roller coaster. Anyways, the girls working were very friendly and attentive. They helped me find my size in the brands I like and even picked out some other styles for me to try. She found a really cute billabong suit that I ended up buying on a whim and now it might be favorite bikini. I will be coming back for sure! read more

I was looking for a new Roxy swimsuit and the two stores I went to before coming here did not have any of the new 2015 suits. They have a bunch of Roxy bikinis here which are my favorite. Something about the way they fit makes me fall in love all over again every time I throw it on. I picked up three of them so I wouldn't have to make the drive down to MB again and deal with all of the parking. Hopefully I will be set until next summer. The girls who work here were very helpful and gave me an honest opinion on the different suits I picked out. I hate when I am shopping and they say everything looks great on me just so I will buy it. I. Love. This. Store. By far my favorite bikini shop in San Diego. I have been to pretty much every little boutique and shop in Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, and La Jolla and 7even Beach is definitely my favorite! A lot of other similar stores are so big you get lost in them. I like a more personalized shopping experience. The girls here are super helpful and know their stuff about swimwear. They have all my favorite brands and their prices are not bad for being in tourist central AKA Mission Beach. If you are a San Diego resident or just someone in town on business or vacation, stop by here if you need a good looking swimsuit for the beach. read more

I was at the beach the other weekend with some friends and somehow my bikini top broke. I could have just thrown my t shirt on but I really wanted to get some sun while it was still warm and sunny out. I yelped bikini shops in mission beach and this is the first place that popped up. Luckily for me it was only a block down from where we had set up camp. Right when I walked in a young woman asked me if I needed help and had me in a cute new top in about 10 minutes. I've been buying my bikinis from this store for the past 5 years and find the girls here Extremely helpful. I'm very large on top and can't seem to find anything that fits me other than at this store. The sales girls are always willing to order my size if it's not in stock. I don't know what kind of experience the previous reviewer had, but I do know that they don't accept returns, but will gladly help you find something else. I also find their prices very reasonable compared to other swimwear only stores in the area. More than bikinis! I've been coming to the shoppe for a bit as a resident of mission beach, but it wasn't until my last visit that I really gave myself time to explore! Outside of bikinis, they have some beautiful jewelry collections from local brands that are just my style! Minimalistic, natural, emphasizing the stones and shells and complimenting any beach look, the salty cali line is beautiful! Stopped by here on MDW while my kids were next door grabbing a slice of pizza. It is right on Ventura across from the roller coaster. I wasn't planning on buying anything but I wasn't expecting to see so many suits I liked. I tried on one and it fit perfectly. I had never heard of luli fama before (call me old fashioned) but it was such a cute suit I didn't even bother looking at the price. By far my favorite bikini shop in Mission Beach. Anytime I come down here from El Cajon I stop by to see if they have any new swimsuits in. It seems like their selection is always changing which is so nice since I am always trying to get a cute swimsuit my friends don't have yet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My figure is definitely not model status; I am 5'1, B-cup, slimmer waist, thicker hips, and bigger butt than most girls. Lots of bathing suits in other stores are made for tall, skinny girls which is not me so it's hard for me to find a good bathing suit. With that said I was willing to spend the money if it looked good on me, especially since it's a very revealing piece of clothing. Julie had me try on around 10 different bathing suits to test my style (from one piece to flush to patterned), and I really had a blast doing it. My husband loved most of the bathing suits but in the end we chose two two-piece Brazilian cuts (lots of butt showing) that were either sporty or islander styles. Lots of bathing suit shops in San Diego do not carry Brazilian cuts because it is too risque, but Julie's had a huge selection. I LOVE my bathing suits as they were so flattering to my curvy body. Once I'm in Ibiza I will definitely add photos to this review to show off the bathing suits. Thank you Julie!
