Should I tell you about this place?? Well, if you did your homework, you would know this outlet is here. I needed to purchase a wetsuit as I am not about to let this summer go by and not get into the "warm" San Diego waters. Water temps are about as high as it gets for out here right now, like in low 70s, so for me, thats still cold. I need at least a 4/3 wetsuit for that temp. Yes, I am a pansy and I know it. This place has a really nice section for wetsuits and also some great sales too. I made a beeline for the back of the store to check out what they had available. They have short wetsuits, 3/2s, 4/3s, some with hoods (I like those), some front zippered and some back zipped (this is my preference), children's wetsuits, men and women's also. I already knew what I needed so only had to try on two wetsuits (that was already too much lol - you are ALWAYS fighting wetsuits). Fitting rooms available here and then I went to work battling the wetsuits. I could fit the size 4 but my shoulders are a bit broader and the zipper wasn't like easy to pull, so I went with the size 6. The cost for 4/3 wetsuit here was $150, a pretty good deal. I was just at REI looking at an O'Neill 4/3 and it was over $400! I also picked up some shorts and a bikini top and everything here is severely discounted. Sweet!! Service guy working here was super nice and helpful. He showed me the size chart for wetsuits and helped me get a fitting room and rung me up. Great place to get some water apparel here and know they have wetsuits too. They also have shoes here but not too many options in sizes. They also have bags and other items too (I forgot to look at a wetsuit hood they had on sale here - so will come back). Overall. this place was great! I'll be back! But know the parking is a disaster here, the lot is super tight, just FYI. read more

I was recommended to come here by a friend of mine who loves to surf a lot. This one is apparently the 'outlet' edition of their usual store. When we walked in, there was lots of sales being advertised on a lot of the racks when we walked in. Definitely makes a big difference since the clothing products here are definitely on the pricier end. My first time shopping at this retail store and they have a great selection related to swimwear!!! I was interested in buying a wetsuit and was also informed on the differences between the 4/3 and the 5/3 millimeters of the wetsuits. A 4/3 (4mm for the torso and 3mm for the arms) is better for moderate to cold water with higher flexibility, while the 5/3 is warmer and designed for colder, winter waters, and is slightly less flexible. My goal is to be warm as I don't want to feel too cold so I went with the 5/3. There's a good amount of fitting rooms that are good sized to be trying them on. My first time trying on wetsuits and I felt like a seal LOL!!! I purchased one but keep in mind that even with the clearance sale I got it for, it was $120+. My girlfriend tried finding bikinis but there was little sizing for her and lots of the two pieces were separated and the designs weren't matching so she didn't get any. read more

The employees here are so kind and helpful. I forget her name but last month she helped me find the perfect wetsuit. I don't think I've laughed so hard at a store in my life. Finding a wetsuit can suck and be a hard process especially when you don't know your size. But man did she make it better. Very glad I trusted her input on sizing because if I did what I thought was good. It would be a very cold winter up in Santa Cruz. 10/10 to that employee. The staff were friendly and there was a large selection of wetsuits and beachwear to choose from. Keep in mind a log of they wetsuits are a later year model so don't expect to find any new products at a discounted price. I had questions concerning sizing and thickness of the wetsuit and the staff was very knowledgeable and helped me find the right one! The parking lot is small but if you're patient, you'll be able to find a spot. The storefront looks a bit small but once you enter, you'll be overwhelmed with their selection! read more

There store was very organized and had a lot of options to choose from, but for me, the 2 girls at the counter (6-22-2024 4:40 ish) were so friendly and made sure that we got the deals that they had that day. I was getting sandals and she told me that it was a mix and match so I could get something else, and I could get another tee-shirt for the 2/$20 deal. They were extremely patient and helpful. I also ended up leaving my purse there which had no phone number, so they found my name tag for my job and called them to let them know. Rip Curl customer service and wetsuits USED to be the gold standard. Unfortunately this is no longer the case. After 3 uses of the RipCurl Flashbomb Heatseaker (and owning it for less than 2 weeks), my chest strap broke entirely. The wetsuit can no longer be used. I reached out to the store for options to remedy my situation (keep in mind my other wetsuit is currently in the RipCurl repair shop since 2/15/21 after less than a year of owning it) to see what could be done. They were not able to give me a return, store credit, exchange, or even a loaner suit (if I send the suit for repairs). In addition, the estimated wait time for repairs is 3 months. Don't waste your time with an overpriced wetsuit that won't last you a single surf season and save the hassle of buying from a company with abysmal customer service. I have been able to find a bikini, sweaters, and sweatshirts that are deeply discounted. I've also bought pants, T-shirt's, and shorts for my son and husband. So stoked I went to check it out today. They have a large selections of clothes, wetsuits accessories along with a few surfboards, fins and surfboard bags. I really like how everything in there is organized and neat. No need to stiff through piles or unorganized clothes. Everything is arranged by size and color although the hangers sizes do not always match the actual size of the item of clothing. I like that the store wasn't busy even though it was a Saturday. The girls working there were super sweet and friendly. Very helpful with getting us items that were on the high racks on the walls. My husband got a nice tee today for only $14.95. We will be back for sure. Lots of great beach, travel options for guys and girls. They even have kids wetsuits! read more

When I first walked past this store, I had to do a double take. This tiny strip is most known for being filled with food and drink spots, so I wasn't expecting to see a huge clothing and surf shop. We walked in and it was filled with very clean and neat racks full of discount items. The clothing racks are sorted by the type of clothing and the price. They've got so many good finds! If you're looking for chill casual surf wear, I highly recommend coming here. There are tons of shirts, board shorts, everything. They also sell other things like surf wax and other equipment. Came here hoping to find a good deal on a wetsuit for myself and for my kids. I thought they were still over priced when I know I can get new ones else where for the same price or cheaper. On the plus side the clothes were great and good deals. The bathing suits were super cheap and I even got flip flops. The store is bigger than I expected and had lots of stuff for both men and women. Shop is okay, good selection but maybe a little pricey. Low rating is because the surf rats don't seem to know how to park. It's a small lot, and half the time these nimrods with full size trucks park on or over the lines, sometimes so close people can't get their doors open. So excited that this outlet store opened! Anytime I drove to Orange County I would make sure to stop at the outlet at Trestles because I would find amazing deals. Well you (or I) no longer have to make the trek from San Diego up there because a nearly identical outlet opened here in San Diego! They seem to have the same great deals on swimwear, clothing, wetsuits, etc. The store was a lot bigger inside than it looks like it is from the outside. One of the girls working there was super helpful getting additional sizes down for me and making sure I was finding what I was looking for. The deals were good but I'm also hoping that they have the same amazing sales as the Trestles Outlet so I can go on a major shopping spree. I was super stoked they opened up a rip curl outlet in San Diego! I bought a set of fins from here, and unfortunately picked out the wrong size. I brought them back 3 days later unopened and with a receipt and they told me they can only do exchanges for store credit. Really poor policy in my opinion, especially because the inventory is pretty limited so they didn't have the ones I was looking for in stock. No plans to shop here again. read more
