My friend recommended this store for me to go to as I was in the area. This is a great store to cater to any surfing/ocean clothing needs. This store is the outlet edition of their other stores so when we walked in, we saw tons of signs on the racks saying there are sales. Many were worth looking into. I wanted to get a wetstuit for the first time and was guided by the friendly and chill staff on what the differences were between a 4/3 (4mm torso/3mm limbs, better mobility for cool water) and a 5/3 (more core warmth for colder water, slightly stiffer) wetsuit. The prices here are definitely on the pricier side ($200-500), but I was able to get a good 5/3 wetsuit deal for about 120$. I'm excited to try it out. Fittings rooms are reasonable size. I felt like a seal when I was able to fully try one on. Lots of great selections to look at!!! My girlfriend wanted to get a bikini on the sale, but lots of the tops and bottoms were missing each other counterparts. read more

Big fan of this store. I've known ripcurl for a while now as if you travel to beachy countries like Australia, you can see their stores. Ripcurl has super fashionable, super beachy, swimwear and clothing. Initially went into this store just to check it out. We needed rentals for PB, they gave me a surfboard and one of their wet suits for rental at honestly a really fair price. Wow the wet suit is incredibly the zipperless ripcurl wetsuit. I am a huge fan, because there is no zipper, it fits super snug on your body. The downside to it is getting it on and off can be hard, but the way it fits on the body, imagine putting really tight spandex suit on. But I felt so good in the water, it's really hard for water to sneak in, the wet suit is stretchy enough to have no limitations. Gosh if I ever buy a wet suit, no doubt I will get rip curl. The board short/swimming trunks by ripcurl are the best out there. Enough said. The staff here was so chill and friendly, they don't act like they are trying to sell you anything, you get the vibe they are there to help you in whatever you want. Took my wetsuit to get fixed. When I picked it up they gave me one with wrong size . Went back to find out what went wrong , when I got there they were nice in the beginning , They went to a back room they have a little chat on how to get rid of me . A tattoo guy came back with a very rude attitude. Felt like I was talking to a gang member. Not professional at all . It was one of my favorite shops and I bought that wetsuit from there . I have lived in Pacific Beach for 20 years (wow I am getting old!) I walk by places and say things like "that used to be..." and "I remember when..." I went to college for 8 years and I'm not a doctor - it was just too fun to be in college living in PB! Now, as a mom, PB is still my community... that said to back up my opinion of this surf shop. I needed a new wetsuit after a few years and the dude that helped me out was super cool and helped me out. The store has a ton of gear for men & women. And has a decent selection of fins and other accessories. Again, the employees here are super nice and will chat with you as you shop. Yes I still frequent PB and yes I still shop here. I really have always been a fan of this brand, ever since I went to this music festival in Torquay, Australia that just happen to coincide at the same time as the rip curl pro at Bells Beach. Imagine watching Sunny Garcia surf and dance to live music/DJs at night, so. much.fun. The people here are super nice, laid back, helpful and very friendly. They have a little bit of everything, boards, wetsuits rash guards, suits, shorts, clothing and I even think skate stuff but I cant remember. It isnt as big as their store in San Clemente but has enough stuff for you to find what you want...I also recall their wetsuit warranty being pretty good. they stand by their stuff. There is a small parking in the back that always seems full, there are spots marked for specific stores. if you know you are going to run in and out, I have parked in a subway spot and been fine. read more

For being right next to the beach, it was nice to not be sticker-shocked. Ripcurl has some cute clothes and comfy sandals, which is what I came in for. Good selection of swim shorts if you forgot to bring any on your trip to San Diego like me and my boyfriend did. Really cute bathing suits too but limited on sizes unfortunately. read more

I purchased a flash bomb wetsuit at the outlet trying to save a few bucks. This was a mistake when I took my suit in for a quick glue repair the outlet team was extremely rude and unprofessional. I will never visit that store/team again. I walked in the mission beach location and was taken care by Marina. She was great and professional. Don't go to the outlet to save a few bucks. I purchased a new 4/3 Flashbomb Heatseeker from this shop and the suit tore the first time I put it on to go surfing! I brought it back and they told me that I could not exchange or return the suit because I wore it already and that my only option was to get it repaired. I decided to go with the repair which sucks because it's a brand new suit. It's been 2 months and they still don't have the suit back! I bought a 4/3 Dawn Patrol in the meantime and the seams came undone on the right knee from just the first session! I went in to tell them and they told me I would probably have to get that one repaired too and it's my fault because I used the suit! What the heck!!! They were giving me the run around and I asked to get ahold of the manager. I called back and the manager was thankfully willing to do an exchange. The people in the store were just saying "sorry" and giving me the run around hoping I would go away. I don't know what is going on with the integrity of Rip Curl and the quality of their suits, but I won't be buying anymore Rip Curl products. I called the customer service number and they don't answer the phone. I emailed them and they don't reply. Look at the one star reviews and see that other people have been having the same issue. They keep saying that they are backed up and that there is only one person repairing the suits. Maybe they need to hire more than just one person to repair all of these faulty wetsuits! read more

Unfortunately, this location did not pop up on Yelp when I searched "surf shops" but I - thankfully - stumbled across it when the other two, Yelp top-rated (and top of the list when searching) shops were closed a weekday morning even when the hours advertised indicated they should have been open.
