I love Hamel's. This place is right on the water across from Belmont park. Heart of mission beach. These rental prices were cheaper than I was expecting. No extra charge if you go over the time you just pay the difference. Great variety of clothes and souvenirs similarly priced as nearby sh

When your wondering around the Mission Beach area there is an abundance of these types of shops that are all selling California merchandise and other collectibles you would typically find at these types of shops in tourist areas. This shop however is by far one of the better ones around as it's a good size and the prices are right where they should be plus the staff here is super nice and very helpful as Skyler helped us with one of the hoodies we decided to purchase and was super quick to screen print us a new one as we waited for a few minutes in the store browsing what was good. They have designs all over the walls so you can pick what one you want to have printed right away or select one of the already printed ones that are on the countless racks inside the store. Most of their designs were pretty cool and relevant to the area and culture making it totally one of the better shops around here to get something to remember your visit to Mission Beach! Overall this is an awesome store that I'm sure we will come back to visit again as we've been here a few times over the years and always had a positive experience at the castle!

Just like I remember, Hamel's, Mission Beach. I bought several roller skates here, bike tune ups, rentals, group outings, hang outs as a kid, spanning over 40 years now. Now I ride with my 12 year old, who just loves it. Tacos, after the ride is our routine. Its the greatest break for anyone, any time of year. Remember this as a nice little getaway.

Still looks the same after all these years

Hamel's in Mission Beach as been a fixture here for as long as I can remember. I remember when I was 13 years old coming out here just to watch the local pro skateboards jump off quarter pipes. Those were the days and no worries. My purpose now is to rent bikes for the boardwalk. My friends bring their own bikes for the boardwalk, but since I'm bikeless I have to rent them. For $8 an hour, it's not bad. The bikes are in just okay condition and the staff is great. Regardless how great the bike is or how the service was, nothing beats a nice ride up and down San Diego's beautiful boardwalk.

My buddies and I were having ourselves a Sunday funday, so we decided to scope out a decent bike rental spot. Most bike rentals at Mission Beach are pretty expensive and crowded. We stumbled across this shop just by walking on the boardwalk next to the roller coaster. We liked the fact that they had Rasta colored bikes and decided to check it out. For only $10, you can rent the bike for the whole day! The bikes got us from Mission Beach, all the wayyyyy to La Jolla! Overall, the condition of our bikes were decent. The seat comfort was above average and the handling of the bike was fine. Can't beat $10 rentals if you're only trying to get around. The one down fall was that my bell didn't work, so I had to scream at traffic in front of me. Bummer. Also, I found it amusing that when I asked the lady at the front counter what the shop's name is on Yelp, she couldn't answer me lol.

Great prices, low pressure, Skyler was very helpful. Surfboard rentals are excellent for beginners. I will return.

Well, when I stroll along any walk path, whether at Balboa Park or here in Ocean Beach's walk path, lots of people are on an e-bike and some have nearly run over me or my pup. So, as the saying goes, if you can't beat them, join them?! I walked in this shop just to look and see and get informed. My first question was what's the priciest e-bike here? Answer: the WEAPON with all the upgrades add ons will put a dent in your wallet $9,999 and you save $$$ if you get the basic for $6k. The WEAPON E-Bike, particularly known in the market as the SUPERHUMAN WEAPON, is a high-performance electric mountain bike designed for serious trail enthusiasts. Weighing approximately 55 lbs, the use of a CARBON FIBER FRAME enhances both strength and agility, allowing for a responsive riding experience. And almost all parts are a challenge to get if the part is out of stock since most suppliers are based in China, who is subject to US tariffs. E-bikes must be used on the street and NOT on walkways/pathways or you can get ticketed by police. Jared was very helpful and informative and I got to look around the shop. The shop was organized and turns out they are authorized dealers of many brands. The shop also sells more affordable $$ e-bikes and are customizable for size and features if upgrades. To conclude, I don't have FOMO and I'm still not convinced I need an e-bike but if I do get one, I would consider this shop because I got great customer service from Jared who was nice and cool. If you're interested in an e-bike this place might have what you're looking for. Recommend

Avoid this place like the plague…read more EZE Ryders is a scammy, rude, incompetent shop that does not give a single damn about its customers--even if you drop thousands here. I've spent over $9,000 with them in less than a year. What did I get for that loyalty? The worst service I've experienced anywhere. Their service department (especially Omar and the big bearded tech) is openly rude, dismissive, and condescending. They act like it's a burden to do the job I'm paying them for. Examples? Sure. Twice now they've accused me of lying about crashing my commuter e-bike just because my derailleur snapped. Newsflash: On powerful e-bikes, you can snap a derailleur cranking the throttle uphill (like on Cortez Hill). I've done it 3 times on 3 different e-bikes. They apparently have no idea what they're talking about, but they'll stand there and lecture you like they're bike gods. Even if they were right (they're not), who cares how it broke? Your job is to fix it. Their workmanship is a joke. They've given my bike back with loose parts (a safety hazard), failed to fix things correctly on multiple visits, installed parts that don't even fit properly, and left my handlebars filthy. For $9k you'd expect at least basic competence. When they got sick of fixing my old bike (which they never got right anyway), Derrick the sales guy pushed me into buying a new $5,000 bike--telling me it would be "easier for them to work on." That turned out to be a lie too. I even paid extra for their overpriced "warranty package," which Omar later admitted covers absolutely nothing you don't already get from the manufacturer for free. Basically, they sold me a worthless add-on for profit. Most recently, I called Derrick for a same-day cable tension adjustment. He told me the service department was wide open and to bring it in immediately. I got there in ten minutes. Omar was literally scrolling his phone behind the counter, but told me they were suddenly "too busy" and I'd have to come back tomorrow. He also claimed I had too many miles on my brand new $5k bike for them to work on it. What? And then, as always, he couldn't resist blaming me with another laughably wrong "diagnosis"--claiming I ride only in high gear. No, the cable tension was off and the chain was catching. That's why I brought it in. It's your job to fix that, not guess wildly and insult your paying customers. In short: They don't know what they're doing. They don't care about customers. They lie to sell you bikes and worthless "warranty" packages. They do sloppy, dangerous work. And they're shockingly rude the entire time. If you value your money, safety, or sanity, avoid EZE Ryders.
