Ori spent almost an hour with me, trying on wet suits, explain board lengths, and generally preparing me for all the fun I was about to have. I found the perfect wetsuit and got all the advice I needed to properly care for it and have it last for years to come. It was really awesome working with Ori because he never tried to "sell" me the most expensive thing; we would start with a good, cheap model and he would explain what I was looking for in a wet suit and how it should fit. eventually I just ended up with one of the most expensive suits in the store. I didn't feel pressured or convinced to get it, it just felt natural and comfortable and we had tried 5-6 before and after and I still kept coming back to it. On top of all that he opened the store a few minutes early just for me because I was hanging around outside and was so welcoming. I doubt I will ever buy surfing equipment from any one but Ori because he just seems so knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to share what he love todo. Then I met Katie and I realized everyone at this store is just an amazing person. I'm sure I talked her ear off about how broke I was and how I still needed to save for a board and all the usual woes of being in your twenties but she put up with it all and continued to help me and work with me to find the perfect board with in my price range. Just like Ori, I didn't feel rushed, I didn't feel pressured, I felt like a truly valued costumer and that their primary goal was not to sell me something but to see me have an amazing time out on the water. This should be your FIRST stop for anything surf related because even if you don't buy something you will be walking out of there with something. Personally, I walked out with a huge smile, a new wet suit, and 100 times better knowledge of surfing. I south coast surf shop. (And they are open on Mondays!)

I had a really positive experience here today!…read more I had two shorty wetsuits and some free weights that I hadn't used in awhile, so I thought maybe I could turn them into cash at Play It Again. I stopped in at 4pm on Thursday afternoon & I was immediately greeted & helped by a nice employee. He quickly ascertained that he could buy one wetsuit & the weights, but the other wetsuit was a little too vintage for him to buy. I opted to donate it with him. After a quick check of my ID & a confirmation that I wanted cash, the process was complete & I walked out with cash in hand in less than 15 minutes. When I first moved to PB ten years ago, we bought beach cruisers here, as they have an interesting and varied selection of bikes that are well-priced. They also have tons of other new & used sporting equipment including baseball, softball, golf, water sports, pickleball, tennis, golf & more! This a a great store for both your pocket & the planet! Let me start off by saying that the staff…read moreare so knowledgeable and friendly, and I went in a few times not being sure I wanted to spend that much money on shoes, and I never felt pressured. Next, I went a couple years ago and they did a little running test with me to see which way my ankles lean when I run, and that was so helpful because they picked out the right shoe for me. Then fast forward to today, it's about two or three years later, I still have these shoes I bought back then, and I can tell that I will need to start transitioning into some other shoes soon, and I only want to go back to this store. I don't think that they mark up their shoes too much and truly I'm glad I bought these for the price they were, and I know that I'm just going to get friendly service with them with zero pressure. These shoes have lasted years and aren't done yet, so about $150 upfront cost, but will save me so much in the future of buying shoes that hurt, breakdown and need replacing often. I will absolutely be coming back in the next couple weeks because I appreciate them so much. Here is a picture of the shoes I got a few years ago, and even though they've seen some wear (and by that I mean many many many miles in not only running, but mostly walking)they've held up so well and shown me that investing in great sneakers helps my whole body feel great. This place is wonderful. I was about 27 then, active through work but not a runner. I'm 31 now, I lift weights and run a mile or two once a week and I use these for everything from cardio, to weights, to volleyball(not meant for it but they work) to walking on concrete all day for work. On June 18th at about 8pm I went into this store intending to shop for a shirt and was pleasantly…read moresurprised to find sales on sweaters and jackets. While browsing, I received a call from a Deaf friend and began communicating with him in American Sign Language. An employee named Aya approached me and asked whether I intended to make a purchase. I politely explained that I did and that I was simply finishing my conversation. Despite that explanation, she repeatedly questioned me about whether I was going to buy something. She reminded me that the store closed at 9:00 p.m., and I responded that it was only about 8:25 p.m. and that I still had plenty of time to complete my purchase. Even after I explained that I was almost done with my conversation, she continued pressing the issue and suggested that I take my conversation elsewhere. The interaction made me feel unwelcome, pressured, and uncomfortable enough that I decided not to make a purchase at all. I left the store and intend to raise my concerns with corporate because I do not believe customers should be repeatedly questioned after clearly stating that they intend to buy something.
