The Best Taquito has just undergone a facelift and looks great! Speaking with, who I'm guessing is the owner, they've been in the same location since 2015. The first thing you notice when you walk in is it's CLEAN!! Both in appearance and in aroma. The menu is simple, rolled tacos (taquitos) and sopes are the stars of the show, but you can also get a tostada (flat crispy taco) ot tacos dorados (fried folded tacos). Being a fat guy I had to sample and here's the beauty of the menu. They're all individual items. One flauta, a single rolled taco, a solo sope.. you get the idea. I opted for the self titled Panzon Platter. This consisted of two flautas (potato), two rolled tacos (beef) and two sopes (beef). I think I liked the flautas de papa the best. The flavor of the potato was really good as was the texture of the filling. The beef rolled tacos were good as well. Nothing life changing, but better than average. I didn't see that the sopes came with beef until I opened the to go container, They were good, but I'm a purist and I like them best with just beans, lettuce, tomato, and crema. The size was good, not huge, but not tiny, about the size of a raquetball as they should be. All offerings come with grated cabbage and something I'm not used to. They top with mayonesa instead of crema (mayo instead of sour cream) which isn't bad, but not what I'm used to. Maybe it's a Sonoran thing. I'm more accustomed to Baja style. Either way, good, just different. The salsa has a kick but doesn't overpower the food or make you feel like you've eaten lava. I did miss the dessert options so I didn't see the butter cake until it was too late. Next time! The entire staff was super friendly and helpful. I'll be going back for sure. read more

This place is OVER PRICED!! DON'T COME HERE. Don't expect to come here with good deals, as everything is al a carte. When you come to a Mexican restaurant, you want to have an entree and a side, not to have to pay extra out of pocket. If you want any condiments or cheese, lettuce on a taco it's extra. NO COMBOS! How disappointing with the economy we are in, that businesses like this are trying to bleed our wallets. An example, guacamole and chips is $13.50. It costs less than that to buy the ingredients at the store. The beef in the flautas were very dry, tasted over cooked. read more

Native of San Diego I have had a life time of amazing taco's. Crispy and Rolled. The correct tortilla, cooked properly so it holds together yet lightly crispy is hard to do. Then the beef. Shredded & seasoned right and plenty of it in the taco . Here they aim to please. In fact this place has the best of both. Well...when they first open I thought they were delicious, than next time it was okay. Later the tacos were barely warm, that when I took a friend there for lunch she had the same problem & numerous times the same had to tell them make sure they hot. What happened to the heat lamp? Hands down the best crunchy tacos I have had in a long long time. I used to have a fav spot in San Diego and have not found anything close until now. Honestly, these might be better. AND we ordered through Door Dash. Two nights in a row, haha. They're hella crunchy, the meat and the tortilla are both seasoned very well on their own, and the salsa is some of the best I've ever had. At first I was surprised because I ordered red and green salsa and then was told they only have one kind, red. I was worried because salsa is always hit and miss. I was in town for business and saw this place while driving. After reading a few great reviews on yelp I decided to give them a shot. I LOVED IT!! As soon as you walk in you are greeted and they ask if it's to go or if you'll be dining in, (dine in) they ask you to sit where you'd like and a server would attend you. I was so disappointed when I got my bill & saw they charged me over $6 for a small side of beans. The menu said $1.90 for extra beans (that is what I pointed to when I ordered & was not advised about an additional charge). When I asked the cashier about it, she said u have to pay for the 8oz bowl charge plus the charge for the "extra" which came to $6.24. That's a bit much for beans!
