I've only ever passed through Yuma traveling around the Southwest, but never stopped to check it…read moreout. I've definitely been missing out. Prison Hill is the classic brewery serving a great variety of beers and food. Lineup for the night: Chango Malo (stout), Crimin Ale (cream ale), Peanut Butter Stout. Each beer was phenomenal in mouth feel as I like the richer, creamier beers. Chango malo had a lovely cocoa flavor. Peanut Butter stout actually tasted like peanut butter without being offensive. You can taste the peanuts behind the butter. The Crimin ale had a good mouth feel but pro tip - don't have a lighter beer between two heavier ones with spicy food. It gets a bit overpowered. On the topic of food, I had the Wrecker sandwich. Soft roll, smoked meat, and crunchy slaw made for a good dichotomy of texture in the sandwich. When you see smoke rings in a bbq sandwich, you know you're eating some primo shit. I'm not a big fan of spicy though but this was the right amount between the slaw and the fresh jalapeños. I felt like deviating from the usual burger and it was a good choice. Looking around at some of the other plates, I don't think I couldve gone wrong. Solid venue, good food, good beer, great staff. Usually I'm not into chains and handcuffs but if it means ending up at Prison Hill, lock me up baby.

Tonight I got the "Prison Hill Smoked Meat Plate" with the tri-tip and brisket with sidewinder fries and macaroni salad as my sides. I must say I was not impressed with this meal. The meat just didn't have much flavor in my opinion. I'd go back for sure because the service is good and the atmosphere is very casual, but I'll try something else next time.

Cass was, and probably still is, a delight. My first meal was great. The two subsequent meals were definitely less than I'd have expected. The first was the Brown butter parmesan pasta. No bueno! It was basic spaghetti noodles drown in melted (not brown) butter with some grated parmesan cheese on top. Greasy, bland, and just seemed like poverty noodles with some fancy cheese. Dinner partner got a wrap that was "Good on the inside but the wrap (tortilla) seemed stale. Next trip was he Juicy Wheezy burger. Still no Cass, service was meh at best. Burger was decent enough and the green bean fries were a nice change from taters but I was expecting more of a tempura batter and these were a heavy cornmeal type batter. Not bad, just not what I was thinking. Last, and final, trip I went back to my OG Chicken fried steak (beef) and it was AWFUL! It was a tiny, borderline burnt, piece of meat that was less than half the previous offering that I loved. At first I thought it was two medallions but it turned out under the gravy was some bland smashed potatoes. Veg was zucchini, which I hate, but that's my fault for not asking. My buddy said his buffalo chicken sandwich was "ok". Service again was sub-par with empty drinks and seemed disinterested in my lack of happiness with my meal. Manager(s) don't seem to be taking an active role in the goings on in the dining room with the exception of our very first visit. We came, we left, we probably won't be back.

Yes Brewers is heavy handed with the red Onions... but considering the ample ammount of greens and other toppings... remove what you'd like of the onions! The steak was medium as ordered! Moist, flavorful strips of beef not overly seasoned was yummy! This meal was a pick up order and with just under two miles to travel once opened everything was fresh and tantalizing. Ambiance? Well there's no place like home. Service at the enormous hostess station which resembles something more along the lines of the bridge of a Federation vessel was professional! By the way....
