Love TGI Fridays! Yes, it's expensive. Yes, it's cheesy…read more Yes, it's alway rammed at the weekend. But we all still love it, right? Arriving we were greeted and seated in five minutes, not too bad for a weeknight... expect a longer wait at the weekend. Our waitress was nice and friendly. Didn't pressure for a quick choice and wasn't over the top (as most people expect TGI staff to be). Food was great, arrived quickly and tasted amazing. It is expensive at TGI Fridays. But I think generally you get what you pay for. The carpark is a little on the dark side, the spaces a bit narrower than the standard as well.

Whenever I treat my mom to a show at the theatre, we usually head to here if we have time to chill before the show and then the Dragon Inn if we fancy a wee tipple after. I haven't experienced the full possibilities offered up by the menu, although it always looks very nice - I can state though, without a shadow of a doubt, that the full English is a satisfying beast of a brekky despite being pricier than the neighbouring Wetherspoons. Coffees and teas have always been satisfying, while soft drinks and other options are available for those who don't like their hot drinks. The bar is also host to the usual array of beers you would expect if you plan on hitting here for a relaxed start to a big night out, and you can expect to get served quickly as the place starts to empty out after 8pm. The table area outside is also a great spot to chill with a drink and people watch whenever we're lucky enough to get a bit of sun.

The ambiance tends to vary according to what's on at the Hippodrome (which is just over the road) so at Christmas its families having a quick dinner before the panto and at the moment (Dirty Dancing is on) vast swathes of ladies chuckling 'nobody puts baby in the corner' into their white wine spritzers. Actually despite my snippy comments the bar staff are actually pretty good. The food is okay and they have a decent selection of lagers and beers. Opening/closing times are a bit unpredictable - they tend to close earlier if there's nothing on at the theatre.

Tasy looking breakfast menu still being served at 11:45, but we opted for a cheee platter and a cold cuts platter. Well presented qualty produce ham, potted chicken, slami and a gorgeous hot tomato, red pepper and chorizo dish (the tenderest chorizo I have tasted melt in the mouth). The cheese platter had a good array of cheeses complimented with chutney, appe and celery. Washed down with a pint of Ubu or Doom Bar a worthy lunch time treat! BTW looks to be a favourite Mumsy morning meeting place lots of Mums and kids in evidence when we arived at 11:30 :-)

The place kind of confused me, to be honest. It's a type of casual, sit down restaurant. You order at the counter/bar, pay, and then pick a seat and they bring it to you. It is also usually very busy, and often full of young families and rather noisy, which doesn't make it ideal for getting work done. All in all good though, and definitely better than its counterpart on Corporation Street!

My partner and I chose a starter of bread, meats and olives to share but I was disappointed that it took half an hour just to put some bread and meats on a board. Not an acceptable waiting time I don't think. For my main I chose a pasta dish, which was very tasty but again this took a while to arrive, and we noticed that people who arrived after us were receiving their food before us! There is a separate bar next door, which is ideal for a pre or post dinner drink. It's a shame that the dining area is small as if they could easily fill the bar area next door with tables as the tables are a bit too close together. Wouldn't return in a hurry, although the food is good and the service OK.
