Andrea was my nail tech, right away she made me a green tea and was so patient with me as I was indecisive about my color. Andrea was so sweet and nice and I would go back just for her! I was going to get my nails done but didn't have enough time. This place was clean and nice for being in a mall, I would 10/10 recommend this spa! So happy I found this place. I was out walking on my lunch break & saw that this new shop had opened up next door. I am super pleased I made the choice to try them out. Cute little beauty salon in El cajon. I came here to get my eyelashes done with Angelica one of the two lash techs in the back of the salon. The salon is very clean and organized. Don't waste your time anywhere else, do yourself a favor and stop by the BEST salon in SD! I've been going to Solita for my nails for years now. Even before she worked here (I'd follow her anywhere!), and she gets the exact shape I want every single time! Sometimes when you go to other places and ask for coffin shape, they do a horrible job. That's not the case here! She can even make you feel all bad and boujee with the crystals and all the other extra stuff. Believe me, she LOVES to do it! So sad I can't go to her every 2 weeks since I live all the way in Oceanside. But I still make the drive over when she's free and I know I'll be in the area. This salon is SO great! I've been a client of the Owner, Solita, on & off for about 2 years now, and I'm so happy to see her doing her thing!!! The atmosphere of the salon definitely makes me feel so pampered and like a bad bitty! They are taking necessary COVID precautions by wearing masks, requiring masks, performing temperature checks and covid waiver forms, and thoroughly sanitizing their stations between clients. Okay but this place is amazing!!! When I come here I don't feel like I'm just going to get my nails and my toes done, these girls are amazing and they talk to you and they make you feel super comfortable and it makes the time go by so much quicker especially if you're getting your lashes done. I've gotten every service at least once, I say that because I learned I can't deal w eyelash extensions personally but I absolutely love how they did them & they lasted a really long time but I wear glasses & have long natural lashes so it wasn't as comfortable for my liking. - it's nice to get my nails done & a wax (lip & brows always) when I come get my nails done every time! So convenient Solita is my go to girl for nails, best nail tech in SD for sure! I love this salon! The women in the salon are so friendly, detailed, and professional. I've had my nails both done by Vee and Solita and a pedicure by Seng. You never feel rushed and always leave happy and beyond satisfied. It's very clean and aesthetically pleasing. They also offer refreshments. It's located on El Cajon Blvd and Aragon and can be easy to miss but they have a pink flag banner to help spot it. Happy to make this my new go-to! I wasn't going to post this review but honestly this salon is way too hyped up after the experience I had. I'll provide photo evidence of the conversation I had with the owner prior to my appointment and also my nails. Okay so as you can see in the screenshots I asked for someone passionate and talented because I've been on the search for a long term nail lady since Covid. This seemed liked it was going to be such a nice experience and I was excited for my appointment, but upon arriving I quickly figured out that the nail tech assigned to me was new to this salon. The nail service was poor to say in the least, my nails took pretty close to 3 hours, my nail tech cut me several times, she didn't do my shape nor my length correctly, my nails are clearly clunky and bumpy and just overall unsatisfying. The owner knew from the jump she'd have to assist because my nail tech knew nothing about design. The owner comes over to do my two nails with design and whatever that is on my pinky is all she got accomplished in about 20 minutes. She spent most of that time fiddling with a broken ombré machine because apparently nobody knows how to hand craft an ombré at this salon. Now in my 10 years of getting my nails done consistently I've literally never been to a salon where not a single nail tech knew how to do an ombré (I'm assuming nobody knows how because no other efforts were made) I mentioned how I'd been there quite some time at this point and I'd rather go with a flat color than continue to watch her fiddle with a machine she was never going to get to work. It was extremely obvious at this point that I was unsatisfied with my nails. I had been there so long, I was so disappointed, I was ready to just run out of that salon and just have a meltdown in my car. My main issue with everything is the owner, because my experience was surrounded by her decisions. I asked for someone experienced, talented and passionate and you quite literally gave me to someone brand new. Then she saw how the process was going, saw my before pictures that I actually sent to her upon making the appointment along with a bunch of other examples of nails that the nail tech given to me clearly wouldn't have been able to accomplish. At the end of my service the owners advice to me was to ask for her next time if I'm "in a hurry", honey 3 hours is not a normal time for the nails I left with and she knew all the problems I left with and still did nothing about it. Now I was told I'd be given 10% off my nail service for the ombré inconvenience. I paid a non refundable $30 deposit on top of $53 to leave the salon and received a $3 discount for my "trouble". There's another nail tech named Vee who cashed me out, saw my nails, saw how disappointed I was and took it upon herself to reach out to me and fix my nails at another salon for free. Honestly it wasn't until I found out Vee got fired today that I decided to make this review. Vee got fired for sticking up for customers, and herself, as she should, but honestly this owner has a lot of nerve. I will be going to Vee in the future and definitely never stepping foot in this salon again! I was also informed that after my appointment both the nail tech and the owner asked Vee if they thought I was going to write a bad review, because that's all the cared about in the first place. If you're so worried about your reputation, make sure your work backs up your pricing. The owner didn't do my nails but this review really represents her, it was just overall an unprofessional and unsatisfactory experience. read more
