    The Beast's brisket.

The food is delicious, the place is great and the staff is super friendly. I highly recommend The Beast for anyone looking for some delicious smoked meats in Paris. They really do go all out with the whole American feeling, from the presentation to the ornamentation. Keep in mind they take reservations for groups of 6 or more, so if your group is smaller then I highly recommend you get there some time before 19h30 or you will not find a table. The price / food quality ratio is spot on. Portions are normal Parisian size, so some people may think them small but for our group it was perfect, as it also left room for their delicious buttermilk biscuits. A couple of people even left with a food baby feeling, so I'd say that's a big plus for The Beast. Loved it. Would definitely come back. Can't recommend enough.

This display of cutlery made me thirsty for orange juice for some reason.

I smoke meats myself, and this brisket was easily one of the better briskets I have eaten. They use oak to smoke all their meats. They serve BBQ sauce, but the meat does not need any sauce. The mac and cheese was very good, but such a large amount, I couldn't finish it. The mashed potatoes were also very good. They tasted just like the ones I make at home. I talked to the staff and described how I make mine, and they confirmed this is how they make theirs also. My wife had the pulled pork. I ended up eating most of hers because it was a lot of food. All of it was so satisfying.

With an imposing Oyler BBQ Pit looming over the front counter, it's pretty obvious this place means business when it comes to traditional BBQ. Having been to all the Austin BBQ joints such as Salt Lick and Franklin's, I have the unfair advantage of having a benchmark to compare to the Beast. On it's own in France we could safely say it is the best BBQ I have had....that being said there aren't a lot to choose from in this growing category. The ordering and seating process is very American, in that you go up and order your meat from an Order Window, chatting with your bearded meat cutting dude, and then pick up on the other side of a giant pillar from another bearded dude. You pay on the way out at a little bar. Drinks are also self-service and you pick them up at the bar. I love the fact that the money and cash/card transaction is away from the food....that has always been a pet peeve of mine. However the system is a bit chaotic and I think given the small space the kinks still need to be worked out. It is obvious that this style of service is an attempt to replicate the famous queuing system at Franklin's and the open family style setting found at Salt Lick. It needs a bit more creative thought and compromise to work well in France. I saw a French woman customer waving down staff to bring her a coffee. The staff accommodated her but I am pretty sure that should be against the rules. This place is small and for a big guy like me, I was not very comfortable eating at a 1 meter high table with no leg room and a family breathing down my neck to steal my seat. The staff was wonderful and the guys running the meat counter were passionate about meat, smoke and the BBQ vocation. The brisket was pretty damn good and the side of BBQ beans had a zippy tang to them. Meat lovers should definitely be hitting up this address. The Beast's strongest asset is the quality of their meat (oh and the giant Oyler Smoker) which is coming directly from the USA-Kansas to be exact. The flavor on the beef brisket reminds me of any BBQ joint I've had stateside, so whatever their formula is, of meat-wood-smoke and cook time, they are doing it right. I would love to go back, certainly for the food, but also to see how the service concept evolves.

Nothing like Coca Cola with some BBQ!

This place is hands down, one of my favorite places in all of Paris. ESPECIALLY if you are from America and are craving some yummy BBQ! The people here are soooooo nice and the food is 10/10! Definitely get the brisket and the mac and cheese! 100% the best mac and cheese I've ever had! Can't wait to go back to Paris just to eat here again!

    The definite star--brisket!

Not one of my favorite dining experiences (or BBQ joints) in Paris. Normally, I'm happy to wait on line to be seated or make a reservation in advance. But once I'm seated, I appreciate "table service". The deal here is that they serve you drinks, but you go to the counter to order and pick up your food. You get a number and pay at the end (at the counter). All that would have been fine, if the seating arrangements weren't so odd. Since it's both "communal" and "first come, first serve", sometimes 2 people are sitting in the middle of a table for 6. That makes it dicey to seat larger parties and can lead to disappointed customers. But, how about the food? The brisket was clearly the "star" attraction here (although a bit salty, but with a good amount of fat). We didn't try the ribs due to the pricing. I'm sorry, but 25€ is a bit stiff, especially with this set up. The chicken was moist and the sauce and biscuits were good too. Sadly, the "sides" left much to be desired. My husband couldn't even eat the BBQ beans or coleslaw (both flavorless, in his opinion). The mashed potatoes tasted like they came out of a box. He said the pulled pork was only Ok, but kind of dry. Overall, this came out to around 80€ for 3 people. Not a good deal, especially given the set up. Staff speaks English and were actually nice. Bottom line- Blues BBQ in the 11th or Flesh in the 9th are far better, both in terms of food and overall dining experience.

Half my portion of brisket left and a pour of Woodford Reserve.

A small but nice spot with delicious meat. The handmade beers and ciders are very good, only the sides could be improved. I will come back!

We each got the combo platter that allowed us to try multiple meats and sides, and I have to say that I was extremely impressed with the meat. Especially the brisket, a particular favorite of mine when it comes to BBQ. The mac and cheese was a solid side, but the coleslaw was underwhelming. As Americans, yes, we expect large portions. I've been to Europe often enough to manage those expectations pretty well, so I was also pleased when we each reached a comfortable stopping point and were able to get takeaway boxes for our leftovers. I know it's traditionally trés gauche to take leftovers from French restaurants, but I was happy to see that the trend is catching on. After all, not wasting food is a good thing, is it not? We carried those leftovers all the way to Amsterdam the next day--that's how much we wanted to finish them. We opted to sit in the terrace seating that has a suspended plank for a table so that we could people watch Rue St. Denis, a busy street in this arrondissement. It's in a great neighborhood that was vibrant and full of life, even in the wake of the pandemic. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who would like to try good Texas style BBQ in the middle of Paris.

When you walk in you get a wonderful waft of that charcoal. Off the beaten path in a little corner on Charlot. Everyone was very kind and spoke English which was great. I definitely recommend you make reservations because it fills up fast. It's a small place and the tables are close to each other but I didn't mind the coziness. On to the food: -the scallop - it's just one scallop cooked in the shell in a delicious cream sauce over hay? Anyway, delicious! The sauce was to die for and we sopped with up with our toasty bread. -the carrots - charred carmelized carrot over charred carrot purée with charred carrot chips and sprigs of dill. This had the perfect touch of spice and smokiness and was delicious. -the duck - barbecued with a nice demi glace, charred quince and a cauliflower foam. Very good but they either need sharper knives or cook it a little less. This was a bit tough but still so good and you could tell it was of very good quality. Regardless, I would order it again and again. -Cynar cocktail - mezcal with charred grapefruit. Was a tad bitter and tart but went really well with the meal. This little place also has the the best little speakeasy in Paris with the sweetest mixologist ever. And she has the best taste in music! It's small and dark and the perfect place to have cocktails before and after your meal. Here are the drinks we had: -Paloma de la casa - a refreshing, citrusy mezcal drink. So satisfying. -daiquiri de La Niña - very sweet, not really my cup of tea but my friend enjoyed it. A lot of good looking people with good vibes. Will definitely be back.
